    soulpp.com/product/porsche-99...
    Soul Performance Products 991.1 Long Tube Street Headers are built around large diameter, free flowing HJS 200-cell catalytic converters with long tube runners for maximum gains in power, throttle response, and flat-six engine tone.
    DETAILS:
    + Fits all Porsche 991.1 Carreras (2012-2016)
    + Designed and built in-house at our Willow Grove, PA facility
    + Power gains of over 25 whp and ft-lbs of torque!
    + All Soul components are backed by a renowned Lifetime Warranty for both street and track use
    DEVELOPMENT & SOUND: The factory header design is a very simple, mass produced component not suited for performance. By creating a unique application for the 991.1 platform, we’ve focused on sizing the runners (2”) correctly to extract maximum power from the 3.8L engine while producing great gains from the 3.4L as well.
    POWER: Verified independent dyno testing at Apex Autowerks on a Mustang dyno revealed real, repeatable peak gains of 9 whp and 13 ft-lbs of torque with a noticeable improvement in the mid RPM range, well over 25 whp and ft-lbs of torque at 3,000 RPM for a boost where you’ll be at most during normal driving. Even greater power can be realized with an ECU tune, especially after 5,000 RPM where adjusting timing would make a significant difference.
    CONSTRUCTION: Each 991.1 header set is assembled out of T304L stainless steel. Merge spikes are incorporated to smooth exhaust flow into the collector and increase power. Thick water jet cut flanges cut to ISO 9001:2015 standards ensure perfect fitment and product longevity. Each exhaust is tested in a fixture to guarantee fitment and then foam packed to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.
    HJS CATALYSTS: The highest quality catalytic converters available, known for their industry leading flow and durability. They are efficient enough to meet strict EURO 4 emission standards while still allowing for an increase in flow - all without a check engine light. The HD design uses premium triple foil winding for maximum strength. The brazing stripe is an extra feature in the interest of durability - it prevents the core from moving or experiencing any damage from sustained high horsepower abuse. We use a large and appropriately sized catalyst to allow for maximum gains - no compromises here!

  • @jdjames997
    @jdjames997 Před rokem +1

    James, love your channel, and the Porsche videos- very well done. Question, why did you decide to do the Joy Auto set up instead of just going with a modern head unit like Alpine and back up camera, and plugging into the stock amp and speakers? Surely the screen is worlds better on an Alpine or modern head unit, and I would think the whole experience is more seem- less? I get keeping the stock head unit for aesthetic reasons, but once you modify the head unit, it’s way easier to go back to stock if you use an aftermarket unit. I’m in the market to upgrade my stock PCM, and just trying to make a decision about going with a Joy Auto type solution or just getting a new head into altogether and keep stocking unit for resale. I would appreciate your opinion or thought process on this?

    • @AutoAmateur
      @AutoAmateur  Před rokem

      Great question! Personally I don’t like seeing non-Porsche devices in the cabin if at all possible, particularly the head unit. I actually have a hard time with my radar detector which is pretty sleek and non-intrusive but it’s still a bit of a black eye of the cabin’s face.

    • @AutoAmateur

  • @livnaway

      I need to replace them with something like that. I put cheap ones in last summer in a rush to get ready for a long trip and picked up whatever I could find. I have some K&N performance filters ready to go in as soon as I get some time.

      @@mattwhitney10 pretty good actually! I bought the car with around 92k miles on the clock and I'm now just over 100k, having owned the 991 for about 18 months now. Maintenance hasn't been so bad. Oil changes every 6 months or 5k miles, $250k (way less if you do it yourself), beyond that you probably need to budget around $1500/yr for maintenance I think.
