Being from the UK, England specifically but very near the Welsh border and have travelled to Wales often all over it, I can say he is telling a big lie talking about supermarkets not having vegan items, the big UK supermarkets are all over Wales in more rural areas there are smaller versions of the big ones or co-op, Aldi and Lidl are present which all offer vegan items but all have lentils, chickpeas and other basics.

There is no excuse for abuse, exploitation and murder for taste preferences or protein.

it is scary when people say they will only change if the law forces them to, probably the same person would then turn around and say that they do not want to live in a nanny state where the government dictates their choices❣

I am quite sympathetic to the vegan lifestyle, ethics, and credo, and myself consistently eat around 98% plant based. A few points though:
If people really and truly want to live up to that set of ethics, then they really shouldn't be keeping animals as pets. In many ways, it is a life of servitude and non consent. You are forcing an animal to live in a human world-a world they don't really understand or fully harmonize with. If given the opportunity, most animals would spend the majority of their of time outside, though many are smart enough to equate inside with safety, warmth, dryness, food, etc as well, so some will also want to spend some time inside as well. But it is clear that most animals greatly enjoy the outside and prefer to be out among nature, rather than cooped up (there are exceptions to this trend, just as there are exceptions to almost any other trend).
If we experienced a complete collapse of civilization tomorrow, do people that eat solely vegan/plant based, believe that they would be able to continue that lifestyle and dietary privilege? Would you hunt, eat meat and/or animal products if starvation and death were part of the picture? Most people in developed nations haven't experienced true, starvation levels of hunger (where the fat stores have worn down so much, that the body starts to cannibalize muscle and other tissues, and you start to die). I've done a 10 day water fast. That was nothing, because I still had plenty of fat left at the end. It was not even close to starvation.
I bring that last one up for a reason; a lot of people may not know this, but the Earth's magnetic field is in a process of major change between both the magnetic poles moving rapidly away from their original positions and simultaneously the field strength/intensity is rapidly decreasing, at an ever faster and faster rate (and will do so, until the poles flip and the field re-stabilizes).
To put things into perspective, from 1850 to 2000, the earth's magnetic field strength decreased about 10%, but from 2000 to currently, it has further decreased about another 10% (a lot of sites/sources are not fully up to date on this btw, and some are downright inaccurate, including even official ones * ). The process of weakening is ever picking up more speed. Researchers get together every certain period of years to check on the magnetic field as to strength and polar positions. The last time they got together (before this most recent one), they had to push that date up closer because GPS etc started to be affected and needed to be re-calibrated sooner.
Who cares right? The Earth's magnetic field acts as a very real and important protective shield in relation to energetic Solar events like Solar flares and especially CME's. With E.M.F. getting weaker and weaker, at an ever faster rate, we, and especially our electrical grid systems, are less and less protected in relation to powerful energetic Solar events. And the greater and greater the probability that a Solar storm will take out those electrical grid systems. It will not take a Carrington level event to do so (estimated to be around X40 rating), anymore, especially not in the near to nearish future.
We are currently entering the peak of this cycles Solar maximum, and will likely be in same for the next couple of years. It is becoming more and more probable that this current civilization will collapse in the near future. And not if during this Solar max peak, then definitely at the next in 10 to 12 or so years at the next Solar max peak when the field is even significantly weaker than now.
Meanwhile, eat vegan, because you can. But the practical feasibility of you completely doing so during and post collapse is very, very unlikely. One food that will be helpful in that, will be edible duckweed as to the B-12, omega 3, and high, complete protein content (nutrients that tend to be lower in plant foods vs animal foods). Course you will need some kind of food with much higher calories also, such as starches, seeds, and/or nuts.
    * I have begun to suspect that the authorities i.e. government and government connected groups, are deliberately obfuscating this issue some, because they don't want to panic people. It is a very worrisome issue, if you understand the ramifications. Yet we hear so little about it in the media, and when we do, we only hear about the research which states long term polar flipping (taking thousands of years) and not the research that states that it can happen in as little as 80 years from start to finish (see Berkley et al.). Not surprisingly, different cycles can take different amounts of time. But we do know that scientists have been caught off guard and unexpectedly so, by the current changes. For example, they didn't expect to have to do that remeasuring and re-calibration when they had to. The changes are going faster than they had expected/estimated. We are well past the 80 year mark and so clearly it is not as fast as that cycle was, but it also isn't clearly going to take a thousand plus years either. And most importantly, _nor does the magnetic field strength need to be anywhere close to 0 for an electrical based civilization to crash from a strong Solar storm._
