You've got a great channel. I love hearing from other HR professionals x
Thank you for the advice. I'm finishing my masters now and I'm trying to decide my direction so that's how I came across your video
Great Video! I’m a 30 yr old male transferring to university next fall to major in HR management. Hoping that by me being a male and lack of experience won’t hinder my job search as I near closer to graduation. I currently have to stay at my job until I’m closer to being done otherwise I would try to transition into an HR role now while I’m in school.
I'm in middle school, and I'm seeing if this is something I want to do for my career. I look forward to seeing more of your videos!
Good luck on your studies
Enjoy your youth
Great vid! Sorry to hear you were laid off, but trust when one door closes another opens. There needs to be more vids like this on youtube, and I am glad to see someone "younger" talking about HR because whether the older generation likes it or not they will be retiring and we will be coming in, so we want to see more people like "us" doing what we want to do in our careers. Keep up the great work, and keep the vids coming!!!! ;)
Thank you so much!! I appreciate your kind words! 🤗🤍
Yes, us younger ones need this. Thanks!
I know im randomly asking but does anyone know a way to log back into an instagram account??
I was dumb forgot my account password. I love any help you can give me!
@Theo Felix instablaster =)
@Jayden Davian Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im in the hacking process now.
I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Thank you for your videos, Carmen!! In most of your videos I can see how you recommend to get experience in HR before do a master degree. I am living in another country, maybe this is the reason, but here is not that easy to find opportunities without a master degree, your first opportunity most of the times is just with internships and you can do internship just if you are studying, I hope can be possible to get into HR with the master degree otherwise I don't know how.
Love your videos! Just added you on LinkedIn.
I am in finance right now and have my bachelors in healthcare management and a minor in psychology. I am hoping to get into HR, but am nervous about switching jobs during COVID.
Update
I love your videos 💙. Would you say that working in hr could open the doors to working in other similar businesses careers like management consulting?
Came from your other HR videos - what a small world I'm from Boston and work in Healthcare HR - but I work in Compensation - loving the content =)
Thank you so much! 🤗
I'm looking into that field, how do you like it
Love your videos. Great job! I want to know what is the scope of HR as an immigrant after doing HR degree from a US university. Kindly shed some light on this.
I'm a military human resources specialist in the army , and about to graduate AIT (advanced individual training) in 2 weeks. Do you have any tips about human resources in general?
Little late to the video but I’m about to graduate with a bachelors degree in Safety Management. I’m taking my HR and OB classes now and enjoy them more than most safety classes. Would this degree be relevant enough to apply for HR positions?
I am currently a 29-year-old stay-at-home mom, but I have been working toward my psych undergrad and will (thankfully) graduate this year. I am planning on taking an internship in HR toward the end of my program. Should I try for more work experience before applying to entry level positions post-grad?
Imo yes, get work experience. I've been a sahm and one of the biggest drags in the job search was a lack of projects and work accomplishments to speak about, and the job gaps.
Awesome video! Very informational. My bachelors degree is in History, but HR catches my attention a lot. Would it be hard for me to get into HR with a bachelors degree in history?
Same situation here!
Hello, great video! Do you think that I can land a job just as easily with a Human Resource Development degree HRD compared to an HRM degree?
13:06 what kind of math? What do HR professionals need to calculate?
hello HR has setcard too? how to have it?
I’m a man and I am currently seeking job as HR. If you have passion working with people then it’s for you.
This is a great video! Would it be hard for me to get into HR with a law degree and only law firm internships?
Thank you! And it would be great if the law firm internships had to do with HR, but if they didn’t, I don’t see that being a hinderance.
@@CarmenGilFraguada they don’t unfortunately, I’m sure I’ll be able to transfer some skills from those internships. Thank you!
Hi! Is it true that it would be hard for fresh graduates of HR to find a job? Cuz I'm thinking of getting an HR course in college but I'm too afraid that I won't get employed once I've already graduated from this course... And one last thing, what could specifically be the starting salary of an HR graduate?
My advice is to work somewhere where you can transfer skills so find something where you would do administrative work. You may directly or indirectly be exposed to the HRIS system (s) used
As a student now, what can I do now to gain more experience? So once I do graduate I have some experience on my resume
Try to find an internship or job within HR. Many schools often assist with this so I would check in with your school’s Career Center.
which bachlor major can go for masters IO psychology
Are the HR courses difficult?
I got a sociology degree + a business minor and now I work in HR!
What’s the salary for this?
@@kikamartines314 Depends on the job in HR and what industry you work in.
Great video by the way! Did you have to get any medical certifications to work in medical HR ?
Thank you! And nope I didn’t!
@@CarmenGilFraguada thanks for the honest response.
How did you know hr was right for you?
It sounds cliche, but when it’s right, you’ll just know. You won’t know if it’s for you until you give it a try. My original plans never involved HR, I kinda just walked into it & ended up enjoying it!
Can i be a hr manager if i finish bachelor of arts major in psychology?
Salary of a hr manager
Can Social Work degree goes in to HR?
Does speaking different languages give you an advantage in being hired for HR?
It can definitely give you an advantage, but it will depend on the industry you’re working in.
I'm a guy thinking of getting into HR but worried as the stereotype is that its a woman's job
Is there a chance in HR for those who graduated in their mid 30s as those who finished their education in their twenties 🙂
Absolutely!
what ghv u been doing for 10 yrs tho
Can you get into hr without a degree?
Yes you can. My boss didn't go to college is a HR manager with 5--7/8 years under her belt. But, this is a very rare case. A degree cuts your experience in half. Without the degree, you'll need years of experience to supplement the lack of HR practical experience. In general, an HR assistant doesn't need a degree. But if you're looking to advance and climb up, def get the degree!
Everything she said! I’ve had coworkers without degrees, but they’ve almost always gotten paid less than me & it’s very hard to find corporate HR jobs without a bachelors degree. If you don’t want a degree, try looking into non-profits & start ups! They tend to be more flexible, but pay is often way below market!
Have you thought about Healthcare Administration?
I have! It’s a career path I’ve considered if I continue working in hospitals under HR. But it’s not something I see myself doing anytime soon.
You smart and you have amazing lips.
Thanks!!
