This Tropical Layered cocktail is a sweet Island drink that is sure to make you feel as though you are sipping on some warm beach while the sea washes over your toes.. This tropical layered fruit cocktail shares space with the likes of the Blue Hawaii cocktail, the Sex on the Beach cocktail recipe, and the Barbados Surprise cocktail. You can credit Tipsy bartender for that last shout out. However, as with all drinks that share similar ingredients it's the amounts that make the difference.

I can see what you were saying about the blue curacao if you don't cut it down with water there's no way it will layer properly it'll be sinking right to the bottom and collide with the grenadine. good call!

I have a doubt or clarity. You mentioned to use refrigerator ice, you also refer to it as shit ice which i agree.
But refrigerator ice is cloudy and dilutes the drink faster.
Shouldn’t we be using the supermarket ice that is clear or any clear ice that delays the dilution of the drink? Thanks
The main distinction is the DENSITY of the ice.The thicker the piece, the longer it can hold up, it is known as "Thermal Density".
The difference between clear and cloudy ice is generally the method by which the water is frozen and if any gasses are trapped or not. So long as there aren't other impurities in the water, or major air pockets, they are pretty much the same (so long as they are the same size), it is just an issue of appearance.

If you don't want to dilute blue Curacao with water you can add vodka to it and shake it then pour it on top 😀
Yes, you are right, that is a traditional way to make it. We did that with the Rainbow cocktail. We were trying to figure out a way to let the person drink the drink with out having to mix it together and make it all purple. It's real alcohol heavy on top. So, we gave it a taste test and noticed there wasn't a difference in taste at all. We figured let's do it this way. Also, we've been working on variations that let you drink the layers keeping them in place. Stay tuned! Thanks for the comment and watching!
Does the pineapple juice need to be freshly made without sugar or can i make do with orange juice from a tetra pack?
Pineapple juice is pretty sweet without added sugar, but you can use store bought. We just like fresh as much as possible.

Yes you can, it will ultimately change the taste, but go ahead! Without trying we can only guess that Fanta will work because soda tends to float and layer easily. You'll be losing a bit of alcohol because Blue Curacao has alcohol in it though

Sorry for the late response, but to answer your question, yes. But remember, it will change the taste and actually changes the drink type. That would be called the Barbados Surprise. We did a video of that too.

Yeah, we call it Alien blood because it is just a dark purple color. It doesn’t look to appetizing. We are working on a better version where you just agitate the bottom to mix it the red and taste the different alcoholic layers throughout. As it is right now you can do it a couple ways but still have the alcohol either in the juice or on top with the blue Curaçao.

No it is not. I know it would seem trivial, BUT one uses COCONUT RUM and one uses WHITE RUM. This makes a considerable difference in taste and thus changes the name of the cocktail. Something to keep in mind regarding cocktails, changing one ingredient changes the cocktail entirely, even if they look and possibly taste similar. One example we use to explain this is the rum and cock and the Cuba Libre. All you do, for the modern version of the Cuba Libre, is add a lime garnish. Thanks for the comment!

Gotta pour slow, very slow. You can also use a bar spoon. Those are designed to slow the pour.

Why watering down Bleu Curaçao? You can just add some vodka or White rum.
When we looked at this drink we thought about that, but putting all the alcohol on top felt weird. We asked ourselves,” who wants all the booze on top?” Then we said “, well they can stir it it.” However, the presentation looked REALLY bad. Like green alien blood bad. So we settled on a little dilution in the curaçao because it wouldn’t affect the the taste due to the ice dillution as well. So in the end, with a little swizzle of the grenadine, you get alcohol all the way through. We created a drink based on that principle called the cherry in paradise, using cherry herring instead of grenadine, then we add 1 oz of rum to the orange juice, and a 1/2 oz oz. Rum to the blue curaçao for floating. It’s a drink that needs no stirring and offers different flavors throughout.

+Satoru Kato Without cutting the blue Curaçao with water it sinks down. We tried cutting it with vodka and it doesn't cut the weight enough. It just sinks to the bottom and makes the drink look like something you would see in a bar on Tattoine. They garnish could be a nice choice.
