Top 5 Cocktails with Color Changing Gin

- In this episode I made 5 pretty and delicious cocktails with color changing Gin Empress 1908. So, besides traditional botanicals (that go in the gin), they add a signature blend of black tea and butterfly pea tea, which is an exotic herb that balances the traditional citrus notes of gin with a warm herbal earthiness, and gives the gin its natural blue color that changes into purple when you mix with lemon juice!

I love this gin! Here’s my favorite way to drink it:
1 oz Empress gin
1 can (8.4 oz.) Trader Joe’s lemon elderflower soda (if not available, a mix of lemon juice/soda/St. Germaine would work)
1/2 oz Lillet Blanc
A few dashes of key lime juice
Stir well over ice in a highball glass
Add another 1/2oz Empress Gin as a float on top
I started out just mixing the gin with the soda for a lazy cocktail, but the Lillet Blanc really takes it up a notch.
Love it!
I would love to see some kind of "ultimate cocktail" - one, where you use infusions, fat-washing, milk-washing and other more advanced techniques at once. That would be great!
I have some ideas but here want to keep making something that could be recreated at home kitchen ☺️
@@VladSlickBartender There's plenty of room for that - I mean, even smoke gun can be substituted with infusing glass with smoke beforehand. Fat and milk washing really only need coffee filter. Making good oleo is simple.
But I can't wait to see what you come up with. I'm sure it'll be good.

Empress gin is only 3 hour drive from me! I love seeing this stuff get recognized all over the world. Last time I was in okinawa at a whisky bar, they had it there.

I wasn't in love with the Empress in regular tonic water, but I'd read online to try it with Elderflower tonic, and with that Empress has become one of those bottles I keep around as a nice change from a regular G&T

I've been working on my Aviations, so definitely liked that one the best.
Have you adjusted the recipe for yours? I had to increase the Maraschino and Creme de Violette to 1/2 oz and decrease the lemon juice to 1/4 or else if I use the regular recipe, I end up with spiked lemonade. Way too sour
I did adjust it a bit for the Empress gin. Basically eliminating the creme de violet and adjusted the maraschino and lemon a bit for taste.
Fresh squeezed lemon juice seems to have more kick to it so I don’t use quite as much.
The empress alone tastes amazing and is a great base for any gin drink.
He is a Master Alchemist and also he is very positive person.
