About the boy, he was way too sheltered and wasn’t taught the red flags of the outside world.
This attitude usually happens when kid’s parents are too strict to the point that the kids don’t want to talk to them, or the parents were too loose on them and failed in teaching them good values, what’s right/wrong, and red flags.
I was an “outcast” back in school because I didn’t gave in to any trends or influences, how did I resisted? My parents from day 1 of my life, told me to never give in to peer pressure, that I shouldn’t care if they called me coward, that it was me and my values first before anyone else’s.
It was basically “to me my religion and to you your religion”

I agree, my parents meant good for me, but their extreme sheltering, coddling, and lack of understanding the school system since they're not from here did a lot more harm than good to me.
Looking back at it now Allah protected me from so many things even though I wasn't ready to face them.
Unfortunately I still have some corruptions I picked up from my days in grade school, but I've found that in college practicing my deen became extremely easier alhumdullilah.

@@hamzafarah4417 how about learning how to swim? The reality is not everybody has access to an Islamic school near them and/or not every parent has the ability or skills to homeschool. It's sad but that is a reality for some people. With the way things are in the world, we cannot shelter our children from what is happening in society. If it's not at school then they will definitely know about it when they're older and independent. I think we need to have frank conversations with our kids, not just give them the do's and don'ts of religion but go beyond that and explain the wisdom behind them (if known) and then relate it to society. Show them and make them understand why Islam is the best and only way of life which will give us success in this life and the hereafter. Also being a friend and not just a parent helps so that your child feels comfortable turning to you if any problematic issue arises. Ofcourse if parents are in a position where they're able to send their kids to a good Islamic school or homeschool them, that is better. I'm just speaking on behalf of those who don't have those options and ofcourse my above points still apply to kids who attend Islamic schools or are being homeschooled.

My high school did a survey to freshman and again when they were seniors. It turns out significantly less of the same graduating class identified as Muslim, and this was celebrated by the students and teachers. Astonishingly sad.
Edit: I went to high school between 2015-2019. Many of the boys were bullied and discriminated and associated with drugs and other things. Many of the girls fell into the feminism trap and they are constantly being politicized so they try to prove this or that (like Muslim women aren’t being oppressed or some cliche like that).
This is seriously a problem. I survived by being a social outcast, and I only talked to 2-3 people and no girls at all. Many people thought I was strange and called me weird or antisocial. Islam started as something strange and will return back to being strange. Say, “I believe in Allah” and be patient.

What a great trial. Have you checked in with the boy? I’m sure he has a story to tell that is untold. Sometimes kids are pressured to memorise Quran by mind instead of understanding it by heart so parents can boast to their relatives/community. I’m from SE Asia and “having face” is a big deal here, where parents threaten to humiliate their children (and other morale destroying punishments) if they didn’t do precisely as they’re told, and meet some impossible standard. Many acts of worship lose their value as wisdom and principles are not explained. Parents don’t listen to their kids. All the kid feels is “I feel like a puppet. I’ll never be good enough. What’s the point anyway. Screw it.”
I know. I’ve been there. Went hedonistic for a few years, but alhamdulillah Allah found me lost and guided me.. at 28. And now I practice Islam for Him alone - not my family’s approval. Unfortunately I already developed some bad habits that are hard to break. May Allah help everyone struggling and sincere, ameen.

I think it is also very important to always surround yourself with good muslim friends, and be connected with the muslim community. I’m currently in university, and although I went to public school my whole life, I think the one thing that kept me grounded to Islam were the friends and community I had. Back when I was in elementary school, I lived in an area where there were lots of muslims. Almost all of the friends I had were good, practicing muslims. Just by being around them, I would in a way feel “pressure” to be a better muslim. I would always try to pray, and overall try to keep up with them. Had I not had that sort of upbringing, I probably would not have been as strong in my faith as I try to be now.
This is why I think it is very, very important to have friends who share your values. I’ve found that sometimes, even some non-muslims have better values than some of the muslims that I know.
I think the Leftist/ LGBT indoctrination is more stronger than ever before, particularly due to the internet and Social Media. This ideology has leaked into education, and now even children’s tv shows! This is the stuff that children nowadays are being exposed to from a very young age, and it is our jobs as muslims to counter this.

After that Allah guided me and now i'm in an islamic school and trust me Islamic schools compared to public schools are like heavens so please send your children to islamic schools or homeschool them. Remember that the deen of your kids should be your priority and so don't even think of sending them to public schools.

    ASsalaam Alaikum
Alhamdullilah, this year i was able to get my two eldest kids into our Islamic school in London, Ontario Canada. We had a few incidents with the public school here in Ontario. Although they are teaching them some great values in PSS here, like you said they are also introducing atheism and secularism at very early ages, very subtly but ive noticed it.
    1. My son who is very impressionable (more so than my daughter), comes home and tells us how his friend at school has two dads. This is in Junior Kindergarten. We played it off as the other was his uncle. A few months down the road he mentioned to us in one of our discussions; that he wants to marry his friend and we said no and his reply back was the teacher said it was ok because you are allowed to marry who ever you want as long as you love them. Again at this point he was 4. We had to explain to him that in islam boys marry girls and its tough because at this point they dont even understand what marriage means.
My daughter on the other hand was in her class and another Muslim student was joyfully brining up Allah swt and the teach told her that she can not bring up Allah because not everyone believes that God exists and that this is not part of their identity. All I can think is; what about the little muslimc girls identity. We were able to catch this because i was working from home and due to covid we were all the online learning option. If that wasnt the case i wouldnt have been able to discuss with my daughter about the incident.
One thing i did want to say, although i have been trying for years to get into the islamic school in Canada, often there is a long waiting list. My kids have been on the list for 3 years and the tuition is very high here not everyone can afford it between 500- 800 per month per kid. The other option is home school undersrandably so, however, it all depends on the family situation. In sha Allah if i get to a point that i cant afford it i will consider moving away to a cheaper city.
One crucial thing, talk to your kids everyday and let them open up to you. If they cant talk to you they will find someone else to talk to. Wallahi this is super important. Even if you send them to an islamic school. There will come a day where they will be exposed to the outside world and they need to know the dangers out there before they are exposed to them.
JAK Akhi Saajid, your videos are reinforcing my decision.

There was a history class i joined in a public college and on the first day the teacher started showing us historical “art” of naked people and told us we were going to learn about them throughout this quarter. And there was a slideshow, all the art was of naked people. I was thinking “what kind of inappropriate class is this”. I dropped the class that day.

Being an introvert is such a blessing Al hamdu lillah.
Sadly, my own brother left Islam whilst he was at school some ten years ago. He used to be a good practising young lad but he got heavily influenced by his company- especially one atheist he used to debate. He used to complain that there were no youngsters in the masjid and the only person who he could talk to was a middle aged African brother. He was visibly stressed... I tried to get him to confide in me as were quite close but he never opened up. Then he stops going to taraweeh and behaves very strangely with his prayers. Soon, we had to ask him what was going on... asked what is your religion, he said "I don't know" and that's where it went downhill. He was very nihilistic and angry in the beginning. Turns out he was a social outcast at school for being the only superly pious boy.

I am sorry to say this but a lot of children have parents that want to teach them the religion really fast and it’s all just but about learning and learning because they don’t have relationship with their children. Nowadays, you got to form a strong relationship with your children or they will find it somewhere else. It’s not just about taking them to school.
Also, religion should be brought to the child at a young age slowly. For example , teach them about Allah and who he is and then the prophet and why we should love them. Then introduce the Quran and not just memorizing it but understanding it. I love Islam more than ever now because I know who Allah is and how he is so merciful because I read the Quran to understand the meaning and listen to lectures about the prophet Pbuh.
I remember my parents and I know our parents want the best for us, but I remember them making me memorize the Quran and I had no clue what I was reciting. I wasnt happy about it at that time but I understand parents do their best. But seriously we need a new approach to raise these new generation because they are exposed to so much fitnah.

Imagine how schools are now!!? May Allah bless and protect our children l. yes yes yes we need more Islamic schools. I don't understand how we spend thousand and sometimes millions of dollars on masajid when our children don't even know enough about their religion. Sunday school is not enough people!! We need more Islamoc schools. We need more teachers who are willing to teach. We are throwing our kids into fire and expecting them to survive? Shame on us. Even if both parents work..that is NOT an excuse. Find someone to teach them daily or at least few days a week. Find a solution. We are not here to make money and buy Teslas!! We are here to raise, educate, and spread the word of Allah. This is heartbreaking. Christians homeschool their kids throughout the country with no problem. WHY are we not doing the same?. As a parent, I fear for my kids even when I homeschool them. This society is so confused more than ever.and it will get worse before it gets better. Are we going to wait until we lose more children to their TREND before we act? Allah ask us to plan and work while submitting to his will. Not just submitting without taking any actions. I pray that Allah guide those parents who need help ya Allah and strengthen us. Ameen.

The environment does obviously make a huge impact on us. This is why we need to talk about the importance of Khilafah as a political alternative to democracy and how Islam challenges the secular world we live in.
To support this concept and support each other in these good important obligations and stop the petty disagreements we waste time on which is only work of the shaytan to distract us from the greater good

Great video brother and very relevant. Unfortunately, some of us are in a much more of a predicament than others. For example, in my situation, I live in New Zealand where we have one Islamic school which is run by Fijian Indian brothers. The school has already been under investigation several times because of the extremely harsh treatment of children and because of underperforming massively on the academic scale. To the point where a ministry of education representative spent almost a year with the school to bring them up to par. Due to their record, the school has already been on the verge of being shut down several times. Furthermore, the school is in the southern part of my city where it's not accessible for a lot of the folk .
Homeschooling is certainly a good option but not an option for 99% of the families in my situation. Number one is the issue of the resources living in New Zealand as homeschooling is not common so the parent has to do everything on their own. The other issue is that of financial affordability as the average rent for a three bedroom house is around $650 per week yes you heard it right per week. Lastly despite all of this I've been trying to find a solution for my kids and the one issue with homeschooling that always comes up is the issue of the kids being socially not ready to face the real world in the future. Can anyone who has got some background in homeschooling their children advise me how socially adaptable their children were or what challenges they faced when they went into the real world later in life.

I would advice to teach your kids about red flags of people's behaviours and bring them with you everywhere you go outside so they learn social behaviour while being in your presence.
Also keep your behaviours immaculate and according to Islam because Humans mimic the ones whose company they are in, especially in youth.
Muslims will be social outcasts anyways tbh, teach them to be proud and never feel ashamed or get peer pressured by other's non muslims actions around them.
And honestly this ain't the times where Muslims can roam the streets or in public in peace, just sleep, wakeup do all salahs, and if they go to to jobs in future, then teach them beforehand honestly about people's behaviours and comments in real life and to be vigilant always, and then come back from work and have your halal entertainment in family's company. So much more to say, can't think of it all immediately. This is a complex and putting effort everyday task.

Is there an online directory of muslim classes/educators for children? Something similar to Outschool / Khan Academy etc. I'm aware of numerous online Islamic schools but have not come across any individual 'pick your own' classes designed for muslim kids.

Muslims should run their own schools based on trusts and charities. So that Muslims could easily educate their children with beneficial islamic education, as well as the general required professional education, side by side.

As much as it hurt to be alone in school... I'm starting to think that Allah did me a massive favour. Who knows what influences I would have been exposed to had I been more popular as a child. Now, I have friends, Muslim and non-Muslim, who respect my beliefs. My Lord blessed me with my trials, though I didn't see it.

My son's high school on his freshman year.
    I went to the office.
Because they actually were pressuring him...to tell the truth that he is really a female and they will get him help with gender change.
    Ooo
I spoke in kind words and said that I can and will sue the school board.
They actually acted like they had the right to do this.
    I said.
Well my body cam has been recording since I came here.
Oh yes my phone is my body cam.

Give them knowledge about Islam what they need to know and about the possibility that they "the children" will encounter in the public school.
even in Muslim country we still had people that lose their faith after adult and after they going umrah etc. Even their parent is Dai or teacher about Islam. Allah guides people at the end of the day, what we can do is remind them about the deen so they understand the meaning of it and the value in Islam.
Homeschooling seems the first choice when coming to this matter, but I think it's best if we had the community in a certain area for an Islamic school. So we had the community for Muslims since their childhood.
May Allah preserve us and our children on the right path. Ameen

It’s so heart breaking that parents don’t listen or they don’t wanna listen cuz they are not aware n they don’t accept to be educated about this matter and they are busy with donia also most of Islamic schools are not following sunnah and that makes the children very confused and a big problem which is finding good teachers who know pedagogy for dealing with children especially the ones born or raised in America
