Two observations: I have never before seen PWB gobsmacked, which confirms that Stephen's ability to quote poetry is a superpower; and in the after-times, can we find a way to keep doing interviews like these, with award winning stars and the host in their pyjamas with kids' paintings or random lamps in the frame? I'm impressed with how well Stephen can do both, but I like this vibe! I even like the way that on this one the guest starts out not look at the camera, like we all have on video calls. Perfect.

That ability Stephen has to remember and recite out of the blue, poems and lines from different movies and books is astonishing. Shows a remarkable memory, that he reads a lot and that to do all he does, he has a superior mental capacity (I was gonna say intelligence, but as we are now calling phones intelligent, it kinda diminishes the meaning). This is why I appreciate his show so much. There are other late shows, but to me, he is above them all by a large margin.

I feel that to the priest the Fox is a symbol of his temptation to be liberated from his enchainment to fulfilling his chosen path of faith and duty to God. Not exactly a representation of Satan, but it appears at times when he is wavering and it makes him so nervous because he’s reminded of the promises he’s finding it hard to keep.

Well said. In a way the fox is like his familiar if you want to go by Wiccan concepts or animal spirit by a modern take. I viewed the fox as his desire to be mischievous and free.
I think Colbert & Waller-Bridge certainly have intellectual crushes on each other. Beautiful thing. Palpable respect there.

SC and PWB, two humans who restore my faith in humanity, plus props to a third, Yotam Ottolenghi, whose food is a paean to finding common ground between people (remember how he collaborated with Palestinian Sami Tamimi on Jerusalem?) Also how is she so beautiful all the time? It's crazy.

I just feel Colbert is constantly looking for thAT elusive guest where he can have a meaningful interaction in his style.
Helena Bonham Carter and her poem.
    And now Phoebe Waller Bridge.
I am sure there are American celebrities who indulges in poetry, after all Robert Frost is an AmerIcan.
Two roads diverged in a yellow road, and sorry I could not travel both
    Colbert, find them.
