I've raved about it. Told other girlfriends to watch it, and a couple of said they can't get past the first episode. It's true, I had the same reaction. It's so tremendously off-putting for a reason. You don't quite understand why she hates herself so much, until she lets you.
Season 1 was good, I liked it. Season 2 was absolutely amazing, perfection.
I really don't know where to put the love I have for this woman.

What was so great about this and so many of these isolation shows, is that it is more of a conversation than an interview.

This is the format Stephen should hold on to ... just one guest only and do a proper interview/conversation.
The best thing is the lack of SCREAMING AUDIENCES! I don't understand why producers find their presence remotely positive, I find it so cringe-worthy and unpleasant, it takes a lot of effort to block the annoying audience noises when trying to watch an interview.
The zoom interview here is so much more intimate than having her on his show

Stephen is without a doubt the best interviewer on late night TV, but without the trappings of the show format his interview skills really shine.
I think the lack of over the top professional makeup, the relaxed at-home feel combined with enough rest also adds to it. I noticed it in several other late night interviews. even CONAN, despite or maybe because of the almost no-brows and a drooping crest, is both hilarious and charming (e.g. czcams.com/video/ZLVz-twdTDU/video.html).
Because there is enough time for them to interview a person in a more chilled out manner than having a hurried conversation for lack of time on the sets.
I love all these at home versions WAY better than the overproduced studio versions

Have NEVER seen Stephen Colbert un-calm, so gushing. He seems to have a crush.
There are so many things I love about this, but Colbert saying his daughter knows what she's talking about is the highlight. So many parents are a bit dismissive of their kids (or at least that's my personal and professional experience), I love seeing a parent taking their kid seriously
I have watched Fleabag 12 times seriously, and in less than a month, I truly fell in love with that show it's PERFECT.

Each episode can be discussed from top to bottom. It is just amazing, there are no fillers, there is no bullshit, though as nails and in your face. Yet you can laugh out loud, hate and love the Fleabag character. 1st Chapter of series 2 is still the best for me.
Donald Glover was also livid when he first saw Fleabag because he did not think of it first.

It's an amazing well written and acted show. Beautiful, hilarious, profound, tragic, and soul touching. It's amazing that when she thought she could not do a season two she did what she did. Not all the parts two are bad since Fleabag exists.
This is the best interview I’ve seen Stephen do since the lockdown. I’m learning to love Phoebe as much as Stephen does.
he looks so genuinely excited to be able to talk to her in this interview it’s really nice to see that like he’s asking these questions not even for his job but he really was thinking of these questions and wanted to personally know how phoebe was feeling about them

Yes. I kind of wish there had been more than a passing comment about the Commonwealth as she remains Queen of a number of countries including Canada but the situation in the UK is much worse than here.
When I was young I had my doubts about the merits of remaining a Constitutional Monarchy but over time the continuity of the Queen has become so important. However good or bad your govt. there is always the Queen.
I think it will be quite hard when that isn't the case just because for my entire life in Canada she's been there . ( Although the country I was born in also has a queen )
She has had so many memorable moments but with so many friends in the UK I was happy for any comfort or fortitude they drew from her words.

I saw that interview and thought he wasn't as enthused about Fleabag as it deserved, so I just assumed he didn't love the show. Now I know it's because he hadn't watched it then.
He does better when it is a book as he tends to have time to read them which surprises some authors used to being interviewed by people who read the back or whatever so if he is on the vague side that tends to be why.

This is a great interview, I was smiling the whole time with Phoebe.
I finally had time to watch fleabag on Easter (binged the whole thing) and I was bawling my eyes out. “...from laughter?” asked my roommate. No. It’s just... an almost perfect show that sees straight to your soul.
She was SO incredible in that show. Just amazing. I hope we see her in a lot more stuff. Had no idea she was the creator, too! MORE STUFF MORE STUFF
She was hilarious in her guest appearance as "India" in Bad Education (BBC TV comedy series about a terrible school) - the episode is called "Drugs" or "Drugs Education".
She comes into the school as a drugs expert to lecture the kids ... and instead teaches them how to go out clubbing!
Naturally, the love-lorn teacher who is the main star of the show tries to woo this gorgeous hippy chick - ending up helping his class to try to make drugs in the science lab, so he can go to an underground rave with her, and pretend he's had loads of drugs experiences (he hasn't).

It is interesting when she said she cook recipes by Yottam Ottolenghi. He has kind of become my go to chef as well. He is in The Guardian all the time and I suspect she and fans of Fleabag will read that as well.
I just have the hugest smile on my face for the entire lenght of the video every time I rewatch this beautiful conversation, it's so pure and authentic and real and lovely💜
