@N330AA The track is not entirely abandoned, and one can get into trouble walking on it. This line goes into Mexico a few miles to the west of Campo. Pacific Southwest Railway Museum has regular excursions on it.
I work with a man the was an engineer for the SD&A. he was saying that they ran mostly at night because the trolley uses their main line in some parts of the county...what a way to run a railroad!
