This survey was done by several members of the Pacific Southwest Railroad Museum. Arne, the gentleman who owned the vehicle, got the highrail gear from CZRY. He was the president fo the Museum Association Board before he passed away. They had permission from the railroad and shared their results with us as we were working on Tunnel 8 at this time.

Great video, especially given that it's not possible for the vast majority of the public to visit the remarkable engineering fears of this line.

The engineers don't wave from the trains anymore, not like they did back in 1954.chris

How did they get to the bridge when the tunnel was collapsed?

Can you still ride all the briges on mountain bike eventhough the briges are in bad shape? I'm thinking of doing the ride from Hucumba to Ocotillo.

As of 2019, no. They have railroad police that will write a $400 ticket to anyone caught walking, riding, or trespassing anywhere on the line now. They have plans to reopen the line, and last I saw, some work had been done on it.
