Pospisil played excellent classy throwback match. Too bad for his injury. He maybe would’ve had a chance un injured. He put up a great fight though.
My heart broke for the two of them because I like them both. Great match for Pospisil, but good for Felix for going to the next round!
I agree with you it hurt my heart every time when I looked at the draw and two of the same people from the same country how to play opening rounds like Americans knockers Nakashima and Mackenzie and that means two guys and two friends guys have to play no fun

Felix really fought this match. Easy to break down after the first set when Pospisil was playing lights out. But he dug deep and found the rhythm. Looking very good to go far in the tournament!
Auger plays excellent tennis 🎾. This was sub-par ! Popsil in the 1st set played the way Auger plays totally 💯. Volleying and all , he should have pushed Popsil to the base line and dictate play . He was barely on the offensive. It’s the start of the year, this play is risky . A staunch fan of his and know his level of play and abit bummed ! Up and onwards !

It's tough to watch Felix play such sloppy tennis after that incredible run of sharp confident aggressive tennis he played autumn 2022. He gave up court position throughout this match with Pospisil, his play was inconsistent, & he didn't bring the laser focus & aggressive shotmaking it will take to get to the quarters & beyond.
FAA is such a great player--hardworking, with a great all-court game, & a real pro & gentleman on & off the court. Late 2022 demonstrated he's got a top 5 game, now it's a matter of whether or not he can access it consistently.
I really want Felix to find his A game for this Aussie Open. He deserves to see the rewards for all his efforts. GO FELIX!!!

Finally some one has beautiful hands as Roger Federer. Popspil is the one to watch among mens. So so good game! He is absolutely great and he will win many for sure. He just met a veteran otherwise you can count him among the top 10

Vasek has been around for awhile - his injury and surgery set him back quite a bit
Pospisil plays dirty … he kept making Felix wait on him … I for one am glad he lost, deserved to for his UNSPORTSMANLIKE behavior
Furthermore, he lost because he was not in condition, PERIOD . . . And it was plain to see that Pospisil was worried long before his so-called “injury”
And, Felix has beaten posipisil 4x to his 1 … lol YEAAAA FELIX
And the crowd incessantly chanting “let’s go” for Black male players is suspect af (I don’t notice this being done with yt male players), and it is highly distracting to the player as well; it’s not helping one bit!
In the past this silly chanting was done with James Blake, now it’s Tiafoe and Felix … we who are observant know it’s not really out of love for these players . . .
