    The brackets came in clutch and the project turned out to be worth the work.

    I really liked the magnet trick. I've been a mechanic for 27 years and I've never seen that. Awesome video.

      Thanks! It worked ok, but I really could have used a bigger magnet!

    I found your channel looking for a review of some headlights and realised I've ended up at your channel a couple times before so I went ahead and subscribed. I bought the headlights BTW...Immediately did the carwash test and couldn't be happier with them.

    This video started it all. Thanks so much for making this! I installed the rock lights, the trunk lights, I bought extra lights and put one pointing forward and one pointing backward from the sound bar. much better lighting than the dome lights! Afterward i went on to install light bars and switch panels all around my jeep. but this video was my first inspiration and I wanted to come back and say thanks! Great videos, ive watched many of yours now, keep them coming :D

      That awesome, and exactly what I was hoping for with this video! I'm sure your jeep is looking awesome by now, and I'm sure you have become a wiring expert!

    nice idea with the aluminum DIY Mounts! I've been holding off on rock lights b/c i did not want to mess with drilling into those fender plastic covers. Harbor Freight here i come!

    Hi Jon and thanks for this LED-lights extravaganza.
    I have just bought the Nilight set and I'm about to do just the puddle lights install for the time being.
    As I'm planning to use the footwell light as the only power source, I wonder if running four sets of three LEDs from it may overload the factory dimmer circuit.
    Have you had any problems since you did the install?
    Thanks again and keep the good stuff coming!

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před 3 lety +1

      I was worried about the same thing and studied on it for a while. I don’t think its an issue at all. I haven’t had any issues after my about 6 months having them on the jeep. I also hooked up the rock lights to the puddle light circuit to see how it would look, and it handed the load of all 12 lights with no issues ( looked super cool as they all dimmed away.) Each light strip is only 1.5 w, so they draw very, very little power. Good luck on your project!

    @ekramkhan5973 Před rokem

    Great video! I have a 2022 Wrangler 4Xe and it appears that the footwell lights stay on at night while driving. So, I am assuming that there is a different circuit that you are tapping into for the puddle lights in order for them not to stay on while driving at night? Would appreciate the clarification. Thank you.

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před rokem

      Hey, yeah the lights on this jeep stay on "dim mode" at night as well, but there is a separate wire that I tapped into that turns them on full brightness when you open the doors. Not sure if the setup is the same on the JLs! Just don;t wire anything up to the big battery on your 4xe lol!

  • @Gabriel-fh8ms
    @Gabriel-fh8ms Před 2 lety +1

    Awesome video! I'm probably going to do the puddle lights first... I have the factory running boards though. Do you think they will interfere with the light output? I was thinking they would just hide the Hotspot, but its hard to tell.

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před 2 lety +1

      Hey! I don’t thing they will interfere too bad, and they may actually allow you more mounting locations on the bottom of the factory steps/ there mounts. Wire routing might have to be a little different tho.If you plan on mounting to the bottom of the side steps and the jeep is not lifted much, I would recommend planning for three or even four lights on each side for an even spread (since the lights will be lower). Best of luck!

      @@TacticalJK Thanks! Yeah, my jeep will only get a leveling kit...no more, so I guess I'll add the extra lights.
