    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
    In this video we answer the following questions:
    Hub-centric or Lug-centric?
    Are wheel spacers safe?
    What size wheel spacers do you need? (1.5in, 1.75in, or 2in)
    Budget wheel spacer vs Spidertrax wheel spacers?
    How to install wheel spacers?
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    The clip at the beginning of the video was from channel was from the video "Our wheel fell off" from Nuttax. They were not running wheel spacers on that Jeep, but the video is a great example of a situation that could occur with wheel spacers.

    I have Spidertrax spacers running 35x12.5 R20s (1.5" on L:ethal Rims..I forget the backspacing w/ Rock Krawler lift -thick trailing arms) and I have taken my Jeep offroading on some very difficult terrain with no isues. If you want to save money on them (and I can't say for certain they still do this) ask them if they have some spacers with "visual issues". Wha I mean by this is that Spidertrax annodizes their spacers and occasionally the annodizing gets blemishes which don't look shiny and perfect, but they still function perfectly and are still fully coated. They just don't look as purdy. I bought a set of 4 and (maybe I was lucky), but mine looked almost perfect except for a couple of small spots where the finish was a little duller than the rest of the spacer. I forget how much I saved (maybe $50?). Might be worth asking about if you order directly from tthem. No one's gonna see them, but you anyway.

    Hi love the video thx! My new 2020 JL Sport came from the dealer new with a 2.5 in lift and 35 in tires. I've seen marks from where the tires rub on the suspension components when turned all the way right and left. The tires already stick out 2 inches from the stock fenders which I like, but more is better. I'd like to run wheel spacers for both reasons but the so called "truck guy" at the dealership said it would void the warranty if I did. He scoffed at me when I told him and he said "don't they stick out far enough". BTW the little old lady who drives her car only on Sundays to church passes this mall crawler and throws me a dirty look for holding her up...The only thing I ask of this Jeep is to make me look cool going to the pharmacy...What to do? and if I do which size to get 1.75 or 2? Thanks again!

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před 3 lety

      The “void the warranty” claim sounds ridiculous😂 I would stick with the lower size of wheel spacer, as I really can’t notice the extra .25” that the 2in would give you over the 1.75. I bet you could do either tho, but I would be sure to go with hub centric! Do you already have aftermarket wheels?

    So I just upgraded my Jeep to 37s. I have a lift, but my back tires are hitting the frame, so trimmed that about a inch. Would you recommend spacers or recommend a different rim. I have no clue about offset and backspace, but when I look at it. It looks like the wheel needs to go outward a bit and back from the step of that make senses

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před 2 lety

      Hey! Spacers or new wheels should both bring them out, so I would just go whichever is best for the budget. I would probably go for new wheels at that point, but spacers will do the same job if you like your current wheels.
      If you want to bring the tires back away from the steps, you might need to look at longer/ adjustable control arms for the rear axle ($$$).

    • @TacticalJK
      @TacticalJK  Před 2 lety +1

      Keep them off! I believe the washers are to hold the rotors in place while the jeep is originally assembled. The factory wheels are designed to fit over the washers, but the new spacer (or aftermarket wheels) will likely not be designed to fit over them.

    Do not use wheel spacers. They KILLED my friends daughter. Back in 2010 she was driving on the QEW highway near Toronto Canada, the back tire of a pick-up truck came off and entered the oncoming traffic and killed my friends Daughter Megan instantally. The reason for the tire coming off was eventually traced back to the installation of a wheel spacer on the pick-up truck. Wheel spacers should be outlawed.
