Love your channel. Got my Stylo 6 today. Noticed lag ASAP compared to my LG V60 and 23GB of memory already used for Android software. A bit bummed, but it's a midrange phone so I knew what I was buying.
I'm 4 days into this new phone, switching from a G5 to the stylo6. I am pretty pissed at it right now. Pros: bigger for better viewing. Good camera. Excellent battery life. Holds a lot of memory cons: slippery. Does not screen share. Stylus has already broken twice. I want a different phone.

Thanks for the review. I've had the Stylo 2 and 3, just bought the 6 after you confirming that it was a better phone than I really need lol. The Boost store wanted $180 plus $25 for setting it up! Walmart had it for $160, minus my employee discount I got it for $153 out the door.
Me too! Super excited. I hope the stylo apps are the same though because I really love the coloring book with 4. Been able to create some awesome art pieces with it.
I bought one. Shit is WEIRD to operate if you're used to the LG Stylo 4+ like me. My 4+ was WATERPROOF where as this one doesn't seem to be waterproof.
Just bought this yesterday and it is sooooo slow! Even just scrolling left and right on the home screen I get tons of studdering and lag. Struggles to run basic apps and force closes some. Not even gaming on it, it struggles with just basic tasks. Screen rotation is slow as well. I'm returning it today.
Video quality is a little better than the 5. I had the 5 and my videos were not good. The videos don't look bad with this. They must have gave it a little better software.

Order this phone on Monday and got it today. Was afraid about the display but got it and I enjoy it. I have owned a lg stylo 1, 2, 3, and 4 but had to return the 4. I am very happy with my purchase.
Im watching this on my new stylo 6.. I had the stylo 2 ,3, and 4..didnt bother with the 5 for obvious reasons. Ive had this phone for about 5 days now i ordered it when it dropped. This is by far the nicest stylo they've made. So solid in hand. My case hasnt come in yet but im very confident with it. Very well balanced . took me a couple days to get the gesture interface down but it is smooth and convenient. Im no tech nerd or am i coming from a flagship down to budget phone so i absolutely love it. #Stylogang

Everybody wonders what phone this is with 3 cameras. If fits and balances SO WELLL in the hand especially with this UAG case on it. I will end up liking this more than 4 it lasts as long. I had 4 for two yeear no glitches nothing. Passed the 4 down to someone else it still performs like its brand new
Been considering getting either a Stylo 6 or Samsung Galaxy A 20. I've had the Stylo series starting with the Stylo 3. The only thing I really like about the Stylo is the DTSX suround sound. Don't care about the camera or the stylus. My Stylo 5 can get a bit lagging at times and even freezes on chrome occasionally.
I loved my Stylo 6 when i had it in 2021, was very feature packed, had good cameras and NFC, but man dod it really slow down towards the end of the time period when I owned it
One of the things that pisses me off about Apple is their 64GB base storage for anywhere north of $230 dollars, same goes for any company that does this so I'm not circle jerking against Apple; but I will also bring up the issue with their 64GB base... It does not hold up well to constant OS updates. Any time you update a smartphone, the architecture of its OS isn't anywhere near that of a desktop/laptop OS and nowhere near an equivalent to both major desktop/laptop environments. So your storage and RAM optimization trickles down due to the requirements for maintaining the bare minimum of responsiveness. The more you update your phone, the more your RAM and chipset compete, instead of working together. Battery? That degrades regardless... $217 may seem steep but if it gives me an edge in any productivity I'm game, or rather, working smarter.
Not sure about this phone but I do feel your old LG filmed your videos much better than the Samsung you're using now, in my opinion. Regardless, I always enjoy your videos!
I just stumbled upon your channel and I like how unbiased you are when giving an honest review. You speak clearly evenly so it's not boring. I'm a T-Mobile user, have been since Cingular went out of business. I bounce between LG and Samsung phones, depending on the kind of deal and quality I can get. I don't spend any hire then about $600 give or take a few. I've had my Stylo 4 for about 4yrs and it's definitely time for a new phone. It's finally starting to lag, no longer hold it's charge anymore and when I reboot, the phone hesitates before doing so. I had really good times with this phone and at the time of purchase it was only $250 + tax. I would have at the time definitely recommend this phone. I've been looking at the reviews for the Stylo 5&6 and I really don't like what I'm seeing and hearing, which is disappointing. Smaller screen, I love my wife screen, the cam is just average as last year's models, dimmed screen, I like a bright screen to see when I'm outside. Also, even though I loved my Stylo 4, I didn't think the speaker quality was the best. It was an 7 ½ out of 10 for me. The stylus on the Stylo 6, pop out feature is awesome on paper, but if you bump it by accident, you may lose it also. I just don't know where to go from here, LG or Samsung. 🤷🤷

Honestly it's not that bad. I got the phone from Cricket 5 days ago now and I love it. It is NOT the fastest phone on the market by any means, and it has some lag/stickiness now and then, but I am thoroughly satisfied. I came from an iPhone 8 Plus, to this one, and I am not disappointed. The big screen was the biggest selling point for me (I love the larger phones) and the stylus the second. If you want a lightning fast phone or are super picky about fancy features, then don't get this phone but for the money, you get well what it's worth.
I have owned and used the LG Stylo 6 for several months and so far I have no complaints! I love the big screen and the dual speakers. I am looking forward to when the Stylo 7 comes out, as I will probably purchase one.
I thought that Kevin Breeze's review of the LG Stylo 6 phone was thoughtful, well thought-out, and fair and objective. For a budget phone, one probably cannot do better than this one
Just ordered it. 123.99 plus 6 dollars taxes and free delivery. $130 to my door👍 They had me at $143 after the other discounts for a few minutes and I explained I am thinking of leaving Boost Mobile(I hate Boost) and they gave me another $20 off. So not too bad to get 'em down from $219 and get it for $130.
Surprisingly, I have not found the screen brightness to be an issue. I have my brightness setting on the exact same percentage level (66%) as on the LG Stylo 5. The screen has plenty of comfortable brightness for me at this setting. I'm glad to see that the Stylo 6 is a new phone and not simply a redo of the Stylo 5. I was mildly disappointed that you cannot move apps to the SD card, but with 64 GB of internal storage, that is not really an issue.
Thanks Kevin for the review now I know that to expect from that phone. You can get that phone for free when you choose Metro PCS. I think it will be a good phone for me since I just do social media and watching videos. I don't make alot of calls so I think it's a better upgrade phone for me.
Ok actually had a newly activated LG stylo that my friend bought at boost this afternoon some observations 1. Screen is definitely big 2. It is on fact dim 3. Feels nice and hefty in the hands 4. Installing stylus wrong way was a hassle to fix the spingloading stylus took quite a bit plof force to remove wrong side in 5.speakers sound very nice
I love the LG stylo 6 but content creation is not its strongest point. The pictures are either overexposed or underexposed too often and the videos struggle to maintain consistent quality. The noise is bad and the highlights are blown out a lot. Take a pic in a shady area and you'll see a difference. Even try half shady and half sunny areas, those really don't treat it well. Overall I agree this phone is amazing and I hope LG's lower end options continue to get better and better like this.

I had s10 plus and my son ruined it. Previously i had the 9 plus ..i got the stylo 6 now and use it daily for work etc works like a champ for the price. If lg made a 1k dollar phone it would kill galaxy imo

I am considering the LG Stylo 6 and I am sure that as soon as I buy it that the LG Stylo 6 Plus will come out.😙 It sounds like it is still brick heavy and quite thick. Definite negative. I also suggest not getting the shiny stainless steel color. Not even sure there is another option, but it scratches fast and fades fast, if it's anything like my LG Stylo 4 Plus was. Looks good for 5 days and it's average at best from there. We will see if I can find a better deal than $144 for it because I want to get a better price than a dude I saw in another video did.😏
I already bought the Note 9 but I didn't pay the full price, I bought a used one on Ebay and saved literally hundreds of dollars. The Stylo 6 is a nice budget phone tho.
Great video, the phone from Boost doesn't come with any instructions, so you sure helped explain a lot of the basic stuff for me. You must have big hands, I think the phone is huge, compared to my last normal small just ordinary phone. And its heavy for its size, I love the phone, and its' features, it's a huge upgrade for me, Thank you for posting this video.

Lg Stylo 6 did not feature a removable back with battery access. I recieved mine brand new from boost and it was just the handset/back as one piece, with a preinserted SIM card.
For everyone considering phones like this it would make far more sense for you to just go to eBay and get something like the LG v40. It would cost about 150 to 200 dollars at this point and has specs that can pretty much almost compete with even today's top devices. so getting these budget devices for or even 150 makes no sense when you can get what was Flagship devices just a couple of years ago for the same price nearly. And those phones outperform this phone tenfold. cameras... storage... display.... everything. V40 Specs are Snapdragon 845, 12MP camera that records 2k 60fps, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal with expandable, OLED display, super small bezels and it is currently going on eBay for about 145 from many trustworthy sources that even I purchase from. for god sakes. the LG v60 has ALL current specs such as 4k60fps, 128GB storage, snapdragon 865 etc and is only 400 bucks on eBay. You folks need to shop WAY smarter than this.
Personally I think all phones should come with a Google assistant button. It's so useful for handsfree interaction, setting timers, controlling smart home devices, and changing settings with your voice

I think that the pros outweigh the cons for this phone. I will probably get one when it comes to a local Boost Mobile retailer in my area. You did not mention whether or not you can move apps to the SD card?

I have owned Stylo 1,2,3,4,and using 5 now.last year I almost switched to the Coolpad legacy because of better stats but held off because many negative reports of reliability from fellow MetroPCS users...This year I expect to change to Moto Stylo after seeing this review, but like last year will probably wait a month or 2 to see fellow users say about reliability..can you comment on relative reliability of two phones
Something to keep in mind is they offer 64GB internal storage but only 42GB is available to use. Better than phones with 32GB but not as good as it sounds.
My LG G6 has a burn in problem where if anything is on the screen longer than a minute a shadow of the screen will stay there for like 45 minutes it's really frustrating

spanishh2001 it would depend on what I’m shooting and why. Different shots and the purposes for those shots vary. Also, the only logic that makes sense is my own. No one has to get the logic but me.
All phones have variable frame rate video. You have to transcode to a fixed frame rate or most video editors will have issues with the VFR source footage.
Heard the Samsung J10 coming out this year in August that probably be the next phone I get after the price goes down. I heard it gonna be a higher priced phone then the LG Stylo 6 though and the battery will be great too. Hope it has the same feature I had on my Samsung J7 Prime did with somebody being to hear me when I was on CZcams they could hear the videos I was playing on there. But I will wait to it go down to get it. I have a Motorola G7 Supra now for Cricket but once the J10 Samsung phone comes out and goes down in price I will get that.
Seeing how the phone is low power there screen doesn't appear to get really bright. I think you can probably get 1-2 days depending on use. LG is like Apple when it comes to optimization. Their phones always have the best battery life. You can also disable stuff you don't use like NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi( if you have unlimited data), uninstalling/disabling apps. This save RAM space and technically helps with phone performance.
I have a question @Kevin does this device allow sd card phone memory merge? I have a stylo 5 and discovered that this option is not available I hope this device doesn't have this same issue...

for +- 200 it is a pretty good phone but to me as an LG fan LG is fustrating when I know that they could do beter (in this case give it a bit more power, and better design and maybe military standard as in most of its phones) but LG's software which gets a lot of disses to mee is actually good because at least in some of my older phones like G6, V30 and G7 it has been well optimized and brings a bunch of extra features, BUT the software updates come slow...

Lg has ALWAYS had great focus.
The video quality to me has really good depth perception.
I've seen better and worst but for the price it looks great

Been considering getting either a Stylo 6 or Samsung Galaxy A 20. I've had the Stylo series starting with the Stylo 3. The only thing I really like about the Stylo is the DTSX suround sound. Don't care about the camera or the stylus. My Stylo 5 can get a bit lagging at times and even freezes on chrome occasionally.
I loved my Stylo 6 when i had it in 2021, was very feature packed, had good cameras and NFC, but man dod it really slow down towards the end of the time period when I owned it
One of the things that pisses me off about Apple is their 64GB base storage for anywhere north of $230 dollars, same goes for any company that does this so I'm not circle jerking against Apple; but I will also bring up the issue with their 64GB base... It does not hold up well to constant OS updates. Any time you update a smartphone, the architecture of its OS isn't anywhere near that of a desktop/laptop OS and nowhere near an equivalent to both major desktop/laptop environments.
So your storage and RAM optimization trickles down due to the requirements for maintaining the bare minimum of responsiveness. The more you update your phone, the more your RAM and chipset compete, instead of working together. Battery? That degrades regardless...
$217 may seem steep but if it gives me an edge in any productivity I'm game, or rather, working smarter.
Not sure about this phone but I do feel your old LG filmed your videos much better than the Samsung you're using now, in my opinion. Regardless, I always enjoy your videos!
I just stumbled upon your channel and I like how unbiased you are when giving an honest review. You speak clearly evenly so it's not boring.
I'm a T-Mobile user, have been since Cingular went out of business. I bounce between LG and Samsung phones, depending on the kind of deal and quality I can get. I don't spend any hire then about $600 give or take a few. I've had my Stylo 4 for about 4yrs and it's definitely time for a new phone. It's finally starting to lag, no longer hold it's charge anymore and when I reboot, the phone hesitates before doing so. I had really good times with this phone and at the time of purchase it was only $250 + tax. I would have at the time definitely recommend this phone.
I've been looking at the reviews for the Stylo 5&6 and I really don't like what I'm seeing and hearing, which is disappointing. Smaller screen, I love my wife screen, the cam is just average as last year's models, dimmed screen, I like a bright screen to see when I'm outside. Also, even though I loved my Stylo 4, I didn't think the speaker quality was the best. It was an 7 ½ out of 10 for me. The stylus on the Stylo 6, pop out feature is awesome on paper, but if you bump it by accident, you may lose it also. I just don't know where to go from here, LG or Samsung. 🤷🤷
Just an FYI, the LG Stylo 5 has the exact same size screen as the LG Stylo 4. Do you should go with the 5.
@@oddsnends3090: Ended up with the Samsung Galaxy S20 5g 6.4" screen. I'm pretty happy with it, except for the preprogrammed apps I don't use like Bixby, Samsung Daily ect.

Agree, all my phones are kept at the lowest dim display setting. Except outside but I rarely use it outside though.

Honestly it's not that bad. I got the phone from Cricket 5 days ago now and I love it. It is NOT the fastest phone on the market by any means, and it has some lag/stickiness now and then, but I am thoroughly satisfied. I came from an iPhone 8 Plus, to this one, and I am not disappointed. The big screen was the biggest selling point for me (I love the larger phones) and the stylus the second. If you want a lightning fast phone or are super picky about fancy features, then don't get this phone but for the money, you get well what it's worth.
I have owned and used the LG Stylo 6 for several months and so far I have no complaints! I love the big screen and the dual speakers. I am looking forward to when the Stylo 7 comes out, as I will probably purchase one.
I thought that Kevin Breeze's review of the LG Stylo 6 phone was thoughtful, well thought-out, and fair and objective. For a budget phone, one probably cannot do better than this one

I saw your review and to me the video and pics was perfect and colors awsome and I belief it's the best phone you can ever get.
Just ordered it. 123.99 plus 6 dollars taxes and free delivery. $130 to my door👍 They had me at $143 after the other discounts for a few minutes and I explained I am thinking of leaving Boost Mobile(I hate Boost) and they gave me another $20 off.
So not too bad to get 'em down from $219 and get it for $130.

Shit's not worth a dime
Surprisingly, I have not found the screen brightness to be an issue. I have my brightness setting on the exact same percentage level (66%) as on the LG Stylo 5. The screen has plenty of comfortable brightness for me at this setting. I'm glad to see that the Stylo 6 is a new phone and not simply a redo of the Stylo 5. I was mildly disappointed that you cannot move apps to the SD card, but with 64 GB of internal storage, that is not really an issue.
Thanks Kevin for the review now I know that to expect from that phone. You can get that phone for free when you choose Metro PCS. I think it will be a good phone for me since I just do social media and watching videos. I don't make alot of calls so I think it's a better upgrade phone for me.
Ok actually had a newly activated LG stylo that my friend bought at boost this afternoon some observations
1. Screen is definitely big
2. It is on fact dim
3. Feels nice and hefty in the hands
4. Installing stylus wrong way was a hassle to fix the spingloading stylus took quite a bit plof force to remove wrong side in
5.speakers sound very nice

The mediatek helio p35 processor is still faster than the qualcomm snapdragon 450

I love the LG stylo 6 but content creation is not its strongest point. The pictures are either overexposed or underexposed too often and the videos struggle to maintain consistent quality. The noise is bad and the highlights are blown out a lot. Take a pic in a shady area and you'll see a difference. Even try half shady and half sunny areas, those really don't treat it well. Overall I agree this phone is amazing and I hope LG's lower end options continue to get better and better like this.

I had s10 plus and my son ruined it. Previously i had the 9 plus ..i got the stylo 6 now and use it daily for work etc works like a champ for the price. If lg made a 1k dollar phone it would kill galaxy imo

I'd imagine it's a significant upgrade from the original Stylo. I'm not sure, but easily several hours of video.

It sounds like it is still brick heavy and quite thick. Definite negative. I also suggest not getting the shiny stainless steel color. Not even sure there is another option, but it scratches fast and fades fast, if it's anything like my LG Stylo 4 Plus was. Looks good for 5 days and it's average at best from there.
We will see if I can find a better deal than $144 for it because I want to get a better price than a dude I saw in another video did.😏

I already bought the Note 9 but I didn't pay the full price, I bought a used one on Ebay and saved literally hundreds of dollars. The Stylo 6 is a nice budget phone tho.

Great video, the phone from Boost doesn't come with any instructions, so you sure helped explain a lot of the basic stuff for me. You must have big hands, I think the phone is huge, compared to my last normal small just ordinary phone. And its heavy for its size, I love the phone, and its' features, it's a huge upgrade for me, Thank you for posting this video.

Lg Stylo 6 did not feature a removable back with battery access. I recieved mine brand new from boost and it was just the handset/back as one piece, with a preinserted SIM card.

For everyone considering phones like this it would make far more sense for you to just go to eBay and get something like the LG v40. It would cost about 150 to 200 dollars at this point and has specs that can pretty much almost compete with even today's top devices. so getting these budget devices for or even 150 makes no sense when you can get what was Flagship devices just a couple of years ago for the same price nearly. And those phones outperform this phone tenfold. cameras... storage... display.... everything.
V40 Specs are Snapdragon 845, 12MP camera that records 2k 60fps, 6GB RAM, 64GB internal with expandable, OLED display, super small bezels and it is currently going on eBay for about 145 from many trustworthy sources that even I purchase from. for god sakes. the LG v60 has ALL current specs such as 4k60fps, 128GB storage, snapdragon 865 etc and is only 400 bucks on eBay. You folks need to shop WAY smarter than this.

Personally I think all phones should come with a Google assistant button. It's so useful for handsfree interaction, setting timers, controlling smart home devices, and changing settings with your voice
But like it wouldn't be hands free with a button. Just say "Hey Google". 🤷♂️

I have owned Stylo 1,2,3,4,and using 5 now.last year I almost switched to the Coolpad legacy because of better stats but held off because many negative reports of reliability from fellow MetroPCS users...This year I expect to change to Moto Stylo after seeing this review, but like last year will probably wait a month or 2 to see fellow users say about reliability..can you comment on relative reliability of two phones
You must have bad luck when it comes to batch numbers. The Stylo 4, didn't have reliably issues.
Something to keep in mind is they offer 64GB internal storage but only 42GB is available to use. Better than phones with 32GB but not as good as it sounds.

My LG G6 has a burn in problem where if anything is on the screen longer than a minute a shadow of the screen will stay there for like 45 minutes it's really frustrating

Why would you need an app to help the video quality? If your buying a new phone, it shouldn't need help shooting video's. Your logic makes no sense.
spanishh2001 it would depend on what I’m shooting and why. Different shots and the purposes for those shots vary. Also, the only logic that makes sense is my own. No one has to get the logic but me.
All phones have variable frame rate video. You have to transcode to a fixed frame rate or most video editors will have issues with the VFR source footage.
Heard the Samsung J10 coming out this year in August that probably be the next phone I get after the price goes down. I heard it gonna be a higher priced phone then the LG Stylo 6 though and the battery will be great too. Hope it has the same feature I had on my Samsung J7 Prime did with somebody being to hear me when I was on CZcams they could hear the videos I was playing on there. But I will wait to it go down to get it. I have a Motorola G7 Supra now for Cricket but once the J10 Samsung phone comes out and goes down in price I will get that.
J series has been replaced by A and M series, get an M31,A31 or A51
I just bought one and i personally think the screen works great in the sun.
I'll stick with my Stylo 4. Never once had any issues with it and it still runs very fast as I don't install many apps on it.
Might have to switch to the Moto G Stylus instead.

How long does the battery last??
Seeing how the phone is low power there screen doesn't appear to get really bright. I think you can probably get 1-2 days depending on use. LG is like Apple when it comes to optimization. Their phones always have the best battery life. You can also disable stuff you don't use like NFC, Bluetooth, Wifi( if you have unlimited data), uninstalling/disabling apps. This save RAM space and technically helps with phone performance.
When can we expect the Stylo 7 to come out?

for +- 200 it is a pretty good phone but to me as an LG fan LG is fustrating when I know that they could do beter (in this case give it a bit more power, and better design and maybe military standard as in most of its phones) but LG's software which gets a lot of disses to mee is actually good because at least in some of my older phones like G6, V30 and G7 it has been well optimized and brings a bunch of extra features, BUT the software updates come slow...
