Just got my LG stylo 6 today and it's amazing..and the pearl like/iridescent back is beautiful. I'm not to sure why the brightness on this phone is dim in this video because the brightness on mine is fantastic! Maybe it's your battery?? What I truly love about this phone is the new look but the speakers on this is incredible. I mean the clarity is perfect. I'm still getting use to it but so far I love it!
How is the camera?
@@ImPoohFrlTho imo the camera is a lot clearer than the other versions. The clarity on this is the best so far. Obviously it's not as perfected as an iphone or a galaxy s20 but for a stylo it's more than improved.

I have it now and the brightness isn't an issue. I actually had to turn it down.

I don't mind the 6 screen looking that darker because I always make my screens look like that because I don't like my screens to be that bright

Im fine with the brightness of the screen on the LG Stylo 6 because my eyes get strained very easily with bright phones

I'm thinking it is an attempt to save on the battery by dialing back in the brightness? Surely a screen that size with the same brightness of the prior stylos, would suck a 4000 battery down. Regardless the reason, it is a bummer.
The brightness isn't going to bother me anyways if I upgrade from the Stylo 5
I had the stylo 2 and 3 and both were very dim even on max they were hard to see in the daytime. I loved it dont get me wrong but that was a major downside.

facial recognition: it probably does not work well with the mask on nowdays
I had a friend that said they used his pet for facial recognition. Not sure how that would work but definitely would be hard for stranger to bypass it. They also said they used toe prints instead of finger prints. Looking back in not sure if he was joking or just really paranoid.

My stylo 4 has facial recognition but it is definitely delayed compared to other phones with newer versions of facial recognition
And facial recognition on the Stylo isn't that secure anyhow. I have had Samsungs that were more secure, but still not as secure as an iPhone. I don't miss it on the Stylo series.
The lack of brightness is a big letdown. I love the display of my 5, no regrets even more after seeing the dim 6.

I have the LG Stylo 5 and it's one of the best budget phones I've ever bought. I'm still satisfied with everything and no complaints on my end. Not worth the upgrade tho..
The brightness isn't a huge problem for me because I usually keep my brightness low anyway all the time.

2:23. You're comparing two phones. One with a purple background, the other blue. Both phones should have identical content of every time. Blue=blue / purple = blue + red. A purple display is without a doubt shall be perceived as darker. And that's before the "gray scale" is introduced.

I've always been intrigued by the LG Stylo series, but not enough to pull the trigger on one. If I was going to get a new device right now, I would lean heavily toward the Samsung A71.
A51 has a smaller dot
I used the Stylo 3 plus for a while when it came out. It was fine for the price (I got mine on a special at MetroPCS for $50), but if you have been previously using a flagship phone (even an older one) it's definitely a downgrade. I had been using a Note 4 (that was three years old at that point) prior to getting this and ended up switching back to it. The screen was way washed out, and the camera was complete trash. It did run fairly snappy though but I was having to still carry my Note 4 around separately just to take decent pictures, so I just switched back to it until I could afford to upgrade to a higher end phone.
@Cali 6311 Well I've never had the Note 9. I've got a Note 8 currently though and it's def. a much better phone (camera, screen, etc.). Granted it was a lot more expensive too (I bought it on contract when it was still the current gen.), but you get what you pay for. You can usually get like two year old flagships, like a S8/Note 8 for not too much more than what these cost.
The one issue with the older phones though is they won't be getting updates (and you are probably buying a used phone instead of new). This is at least on the newest Android version, but if you don't care too much about that, then I would go with the older flagship if you can get one for a good price that's still in good condition.
Outstanding choice. . . The A71 is the best bang for the buck currently on the market (as of 22 May). Wireless Place has the A71 128gb/6gb ram unlocked international version for only $369 USD.
@@LOTR_BTTF I gave my Iphone Xr to my daughter and I bought the Stylo6. Iphones to me, are overrated.. It's just my opinion though, obviously they are very popular so a lot of people don't agree with me..
Should've kept the 6 same size as five and just improved storage, wireless charging, camera specs (in terms of software, bigger sensor, mps), and battery size.

Had the Stylo 3 and recently got my Stylo 5. While I really like the camera upgrade, the size is too big for me and the screen brightness bugs me more than i thought it would. I'll stick with my Stylo 5 for now.
I have the three but im just trying to use it till i cant anymore but surely im due for an upgrade i want the stylo 5 idk ill see what i get tommarow! Lol
And did you notice that your screen goes dark during a live phone call on the newer Stylo versus the older one? That's a deal-breaker alone for me no matter what you do you cannot program the screen to stay on during a live phone call on the Boost mobile version of the Stylo 5
I'm currently waiting for my Stylo 6 to come in the mail. I've had the Stylo 5 since last August and I loved so I think I'm gonna love this new one too and this video helped me confirm that, I don't mind the brightness as I normally have mine near 50-60%. Looking forward to it!
As a follow up, I have now owned my stylo 6 for about 3 days. I have loved every second of it. It feels more powerful than the stylo 5 and having Android 10 makes everything feel so much better. The only really vice to this device (see what I did there?) is the elongated aspect ratio if you like to watch videos or play games in horizontal mode. It's not much of a hindrance but it's a bit worse than the stylo 5. Thankfully I spend most of my time of reddit and other social media, like most people nowadays. Hope any of this helped and I can answer questions about either device if anybody has any.

I have the stylo5 and a moto g power . the 5 is a great budget phone , especially if you mess around with settings and get it running optimal . i use my moto at the moment , awesome battery life , sweet speakers , large screen and in proper lighting/situations a decent camera .

Dimmer screen doesn't mean lower quality display. LG probably implemented the max setting to be lower than what the screen is actually capable of to save on battery life. While the Stylo 6 has a larger battery, it has a much larger screen, with an equally larger ratio to match. A 500mah difference isn't much when going from a 6.2" 18:9 to a 6.8" 21:9. Despite the Stylo 5 having the brighter screen of the two and higher pixel density, only because of it's smaller size, the Stylo 6's screen is way more clearer. That's how you measure the quality of the screen. A larger screen with the same resolution is going to have a lower pixel density, but even with that and brightness against it, the Stylo 6's screen and viewing angles are just way better.

Think hard before you grab the v a lot of disappointment screen brightness performance of the phone it's slow that Google AI is worse the camera is crappy compared to the three

The Stylo 6 is a definite upgrade. The duo speakers, and 3 cameras. The screen size is nicer. My only gripes are the screen brightness and the processor. I think the processer is good enough though to do most tasks just fine.
I always keep my brightness at about 50-60% anyways on my Stylo 4 so the brightness on the 6 is not a concern to me. Being not as bright might save battery life anyway.
Battery life is the whole reason they make the screen go dim but worse than that they let the screen turn off during Live phone calls they should give you an option to toggle screen on during a live phone call
Its already hard to see the screen outside and sunny with the 5, so as much as I like the 6 better, the screen is 100% a deal breaker.
I have the stylo 4 and I really am considering getting the 6 I really love huge phones and when I upgraded to the stylo 4 from the Aristo I thought it was great and an even bigger size better features but I see the stylo 6 has a larger screen resolution. And 64 gb of memory you can't beat that

Love your channel. Got my Stylo 6 today. Noticed lag ASAP compared to my LG V60 and 23GB of memory already used for Android software. A bit bummed, but it's a midrange phone so I knew what I was buying.

I own a Stylo 5 and the only reason I would like to have the Stylo 6 is the larger/longer screen to read my kindle books. I can see that a book page will benefit from the longer screen. I wish the Stylo 6 had at least 4GB of storage instead of 3. I wonder how long it will take LG to come out with a phone with more storage. The screen brightness may not be an issue for me as long as it still has the comfort view feature. I would not want to use face recognition and really like the fingerprint feature. I'm not sure if I should wait for a newer phone to come out or go ahead and get the Stylo 6. Thanks for the great video. Very helpful.
And I'm in Florida and it gets major bright here so that screen and the speed of that chip set is slower than my Stylo 5x in real world use , seems like a downgrade to me, I would rather get a g8 x or even the g7 would be a better choice
Just got this phone yesterday. The brightness is not dim at all. It is just as bright as my stylo 5. You just have to uncheck the auto brightness. Very good phone and they camera is so much better than the 5.
why do companies think it's okay to use notches in 2020, there is literally no reason to use it anymore

Thanks for the comparison. I only wish you had addressed the elephant in the room. Can apps be moved to the SD card? They can't on the Stylo 5 (Boost Version). If it's the same with the Stylo 6 then I would tell people to stay away from this phone no matter how big of an SD card it can hold.
I cant move any of my apps with the cricket version of the 5 either. I deleted a bunch of apps and it is still crashing all the time. 😢 I loved it until I realized that.

I found out you cannot move apps to sd card on stylo 6 either. At least the moto g stylus has 128 gb internal memory.

After having the Stylo 4 for a year, I got the Stylo 5 for free, switching to boost mobile. I loved it. The extra gig of memory helped a bunch. I just ordered the Stylo 6 and I'm pretty optimistic. Better battery, storage, processor, cameras and display (minus the brightness). I can't want to test it out.

I have Stylo 4 and I've been looking to upgrade didn't even know a 6 was out until I ran across this video and I'm going to get it I've been using stylos for years 2 3 and 4 going to jump straight to 6 I guess I'll add my opinion when I get it especially about the brightnes I do plan on getting it today

Once you load several apps on the *STYLE 5* and pics etc. It then gets *VERY LAGGY* ❗
With the Stylo 6 can you move apps to an SD card?? I purchased one for my Stylo 5 but come to find out you cannot transfer any apps to it.. 🤦🏻🤦🏻♀️

I had the Stylo 4, and 5 models. Loved both of them except the charging port is the weak point of the phone, both were useless after 7-8 months which was pretty disappointing because I liked the rest of the phone's features. Switched to the Motorola g7 Supra afterwards and have liked it so far.
I Had My LG Stylo 5 For 10 Months And No issues at all With My Phone's Charging Port.
I need this 6...

I have the LG Stylo 5 and it's a good phone for the money. The only issue I have with LG are the charging ports. I have had several LG phones that have had problems with the charging port wearing out? I don't think I would upgrade to the Stylo 6 because of the screen brightness and the slower response time. I would probably upgrade to the Motorola G Stylus or even forget the stylus all together and go with a Samsung A20 or A50. My LG Stylo 5 will probably be my last LG phone.
One of the biggest things I look for in a new smartphone is micro SD card slot . I want my extra memory to be portable.
I'm not down with facial recognition tech. Fingerprint is as far as I'm willing to go ( privacy )
I just got the Stylo 5 and am happy with it .I previously had the Stylo 3
It would be way better in design if LG have added side mounted fingerprint sensor in Stylo 6

Can you make the screen stay illuminated during a phone call? For instance if you wanted to punch numbers in like a bank transfer or something like that?
While I do believe the brightness difference,the comparison about it in this video is not fair when the background color is different and obviously the blueish is brighter and clearer than the purplelish

Sorry I made my last comment before I watched the video. But now I did. I want to say the LG Stylo 6 is a very bad phone. IT SUCKS! If you have a Stylo 5 keep it or get a nother phone. I did say do a Moto G Stylus vs LG Stylo 6 video but the G Stylus will kill the Stylo 6.

I'm gonna go ahead and say, I did not notice it wasn't brighter... but even if it isn't, that's a welcome change to me. The screen never got as dark as i wanted for certain situations and was often way too bright in others.... im not in bright sun enough to warrant ever using 100% brightness... Preferences I guess.
If you pay attention the battery is low on the 6 probably why the screen is dim it switched to power saving mode.
I hope that t-mobile will carry this phone soon. The phone seems pretty good aside from the brightness. Also is the stylo 6 as customizable as the stylo 5?

was thinking of upgrading to the 6, but might wait til the 7 is out in 2021, with covid as it is, I'd like to actually see how dimmer the screen brightness is, while I usually keep my 5 at below 50% brightness, when the sun is out it can be unviewable and I need to consider that...
It's july their going now for under 200 bucks i currently have a 5 which i love but an improvement storage bigger screen on the 6 under 200 bucks I'm getting it next month thanks for your review

I have a Stylo 3, just picked up a 6, so this is a big upgrade for me.
I like the stylo 6 and never used the stylo 5. Only problem I have is it bogs down and even froze up a few times and none of the buttons would work. I had to reset it.
SD good in connectivity, MT can handle for the good photography.
It would be nice to see somebody come out with something that competes with the note line but has those features

I use it outside just fine. Set it to auto and it seems to get brighter than full brightness. My last phone was an LG G6 and could barely see it in full sunlight. The G6 was much better than the stylo 6 but I like the massive screen.
I believe the reason for removing facial recognition is because its still a fairly unstable feature and is too expensive to make it as secure as the more expensive flagship phones. My guess is price of software/hardware
Now, the display issue i also presume that the voltage for the LEDs was possibly decreased at the circuit board more than likely to consume battery power for the larger display you should do a video of the 2 devices side by side playing the exact same 4k/8k video at the same time both with the image stretched and pinched and see if there are any differences there.
I like the look of the stylo5 more than the Stylo 6. But you can't deny the sheer performance boost the Stylo 6 has.

How do the front facing cameras compare? LG has always dropped the ball a little with their front facing cameras. I know the Stylo 6 has a higher megapixel count, but is the selfie camera an actual improvement over the Stylo 5?

Do a battery usage test on the stylo 5 vs stylo 6 please. Like how long does the battery last on 1 full charge.
The battery life is good it lasts at least one full day and if you're not using it turn it off and it'll last for days
To everyone debating on upgrading from the Stylo 5/5x I can tell you without a doubt the Stylo 6 is worth the upgrade. I've been power using my Stylo 5x for some time now and just upgraded yesterday to the 6. IMO the 6 still has a much better and sharper display than my 5x. Far better color reproduction too. The display itself definitely is an upgrade minus the max brightness but honestly I hadn't even noticed until watching this video. It's really not bad at all, it's almost the perfect brightness level and makes everything look more accurate and premium. Definitely not something worth just not upgrading over. The 6 is still a much better phone and with Android 10 the experience feels much smoother and more streamlined. If you are waiting for the next Stylo to upgrade then definitely something worth considering waiting, but otherwise I would absolutely say the upgrade is more than worth it! 👍 Hope this helps. ✌

The only think I don't like on LG Stylo 6 is that there is no notification light???? That is not COOL!!! Can anyone help with me with that??
