- Everyone knows the Celtics entered the playoffs with the NBA’s best record, but do people realize how special this squad has been?
I know this is going to sound blasphemous given the 17 championship banners already hanging, the fact The Two Jays era has yet to produce even one of those, but we might be witnessing the most dominant Celtics team ever.

I can’t say they are a dominant team when they consistently blew numerous 20+ leads to mediocre teams. Compared to 2018 they don’t play as hungry.

This is a great team, to be sure. However, you must not be old enough to have seen the 1986 Boston Celtics. They were completely off the charts. At the beginning of the playoffs, this season, I thought there was a good chance the Celtics would win the NBA Title, and still do, after losing the man made of glass, Kristaps Porziņģis. The difference in this team, and the 86 team, is this. By the time the playoffs had started in 86, Celtics fans KNEW we'd win it all, there was zero doubt. Heck, I knew the 86 Celtics would win it all, very early in that season, and we did! Regrettably, the Lakers went down in the Western Conference Finals, in just 5 games, to Houston. I would've much preferred to beat LA in the Finals, like we surely would have!
This 2024 Boston team seems vulnerable mentally. They blew out much of their opposition in the regular season and seem uncomfortable in close games.

Arsenal in the English Premier League is in a similar situation with the Celtics. Arsenal fell short of the title last season after a dominant campaign, and they are even better this season and there is a chance they won't win the title and lose to the Man city team that won last year.
Add to that, the fact that both franchise have not won the title in a long time.
I hope they get the job done this season.
