@@stickytapenrust6869 I noticed Nigel Gresley appears in one episode from the later series where a female character gets off at what looked like Grosmont station. I assume this ep was set in the late 60s, and if so then historically speaking this scene would've been impossible as Nigel Gresley wouldn't have been in service during the latter half of the 1960s, and it wasn't painted blue either but painted green, and if it had been in service it's unlikely to have been running around the North Yorkshire moors.
@@darrensmith4279 The pub in real life is tiny inside. It's amazing how they got the the camera and crew inside. I'm guessing the move to a studio set (same with the inside of the police house) was because of more space to film. I wish the place I live was as nice and peaceful as Goathland, sadly where I live is a rubbish dump, scallies everywhere, too many houses and flats being built (mostly on supposed greenbelt where the council just bypass and opposition to building which they do by saying they've changed the boundary and other little tricks), too much traffic, CCTV cameras everywhere and ugly buildings etc.
This doesn't sound genuine. The electric guitars at the start were only used for the first couple of series in the early 90s, then it was remixed slightly so that the electric guitars were toned down at the start and the real guitars made louder. In fact, this exact same track, complete with the exact same car sound effects in the exact same places was used on the very first episode, which makes me certain this is a fake.
Electric guitars are just as real as acoustic guitars lol. Did you think they were made from magic ether floating around in the air? This version of the song sounds WAY closer to the original Buddy Holly version of Heartbeat. And so it fits the setting of the show way better than the modernised cover they turned it into later on
@@duffman18 I've always thought the song used in the first eps of each series (no idea if they used this on every series as I haven't watched most of the later post Greengrass leaving episodes as they got really boring and silly by then) sounded like the Buddy Holly version but with Nick's vocal's added. I wonder why this was used at the start of each series episode?. I've also heard songs sung by Nick Berry in various episodes, which for some reason don't appear on his discography, as if he did a cover of a song specially for the episode. I wish I could remember which episodes this song/s were heard in.
@@duffman18 Just been going through the first series, and noticed that from ep 1-4 they have used the music used in this first ep from series 8, yet from eps 5-10 from series 1 they have used the official Nick Berry version. Why they've done this half way through a series I don't know, as I initially thought they just used that alternative music for the first episodes of each series, but apparently not.
Said it before and will say again just the best please please bring it back ASAP

How much do you think they paid for the steam trains in the modern version
Not that much, Goathland (where it’s filmed) has an enthusiast’s vintage railway nearby.
