    Thank you for sharing these videos. I'm seriously considering buying my first sailboat and your videos are informative and encouraging. The Catalina 22 is my first choice. I almost bought one a couple of years ago but wasn't quite ready to devote the time to refurbish it like you're doing. Please keep posting your projects.

    Nice job! You're really going to love her when all the major chores are finished and you can go enjoy sailing without worrying about something you think you need to do first. It's nice to see it all coming together for you. It only took me 10 years to get my boat squared away and go for my first night sail but it was totally worth all the work.

    I'll have to do the windows on my C25 before long, so I appreciate this video having never done it before. I was dreading it with these old aluminum frames, but now I know what I'm getting into, so that was very helpful. Thanks! Knot Enough is looking awesome. Great job!

      You're welcome... I searched for videos on this and didn't find one so I'm glad to hear it helped somebody else. It goes to show it's hard but not impossible. A needlessly complicated system, though.

    THANK YOU! There are some horrible videos out there attempting to explain this process. Yours does NOT fall into that category. I’m really surprised Catalina direct doesn’t have a “how to” video... I’m doing the exact same project on my Pearson. Rum is on me!

    Okay, so I LOVE THIS VIDEO so much I'm watching the entire ads so you get something from it! I commented a couple of months ago (see below) but today I finished the porthole resealing. I literally watched this video while I was doing each window because your voice was so calm and I was not super calm :-). I wasn't sure how to center them but found that on another website and just glued some cut up tongue depressors together underneath. And I used Butyl tape instead of the caulk for final install but THANK YOU again for this video. Also, I ended up painting the frames because the place that "polished" them destroyed them so I sanded and painted. They look so much better anyway.

    Thanks! Painting the frames turned out great! I’m making a list of follow up projects to do once the boat is launched, lots of touch ups and things to do better. Painting the frames is now on the list! Just trying to knock out the “have to” list now at a “best i can at 2 hrs per week” level of finish!

    When at anchor, the top 360° light should be on, no the stern light. (or black ball during the day)
    Very cool sunset, just perfect!

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  Před 3 lety +2

      Thanks. On that boat, our masthead light didn't work, so I ran a 360 light hanging in the cockpit. In our anchorage, people run multiple lights, even solar lights from the dollar tree, just to be seen. When I kept our boat out there I ran two good solar lights one on the mast and one on the stern just to be safe as fishing boats run through at night. On our new boat, masthead light is out also. I can't win with that one.

    Great series! I have watched every episode! I bought a C&C24 8/2020. I am a new sailor. I am now in process of constructing a temporary shed on top of boat which is on boat stands at the marina so I can work throughout the winter. I am on Long Island, NY which is the epicenter of motorboats. The electrical on this boat is completely incompetent; it will have to be completely redone! I am knowledgeable concerning AC electrical. In my marina there are several very large abandoned boats just decomposing! Regarding my port windows they are completely trashed! I am surprised by the manufacturer's incompetent method of detailing! I have been looking for operable, plastic lens, tinted units that are quality and greater than one foot long to no success! Good luck with your show! When is the next show?

    Good job on that table. Do you have video on finishing that out?

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  Před 3 lety

      In one of the videos (not sure which) I show it out... I sanded and painted the support with silver or metalic paint and then I spray painted the table. It's good because it's slightly rough, so things don't slide easily when listing. I also cut about 2 inches off the end of the table that's up against the side of the boat, because I felt it was bigger than it needed to be and was in the way when carrying things into the boat. The came the cheap graphic from Wish.com , which held up well. We're about to add the same graphic to our new boat's table.

      @AdventuresInParadise  Před 3 lety +2

    • @AdventuresInParadise
      @AdventuresInParadise  Před 3 lety

      So far I only used it the night with the motor, but I went from constantly steering to just making corrections every once and a while. I was able to step away to do other things and didn't have to ask Susy to hold the tiller each time, so I can't wait to test it while sailing. I'm going to put off my plans for the tiller-pilot until I use this thing a little because I have a feeling simpler is better in this case.
