  • After You remove wallpaper, you have usually a mess on the wall from which you removed the paper. This video will show you what to use after you remove wallpaper whether you are re-applying wallpaper for painting; in both cases where skim coat or plaster was necessary to the store the walls, you will want a good primer; this video demonstrates in my experience the best primer to do that.

Kilz Original = Oil based. Kilz Mold and Mildew = water-based. Apples vs. oranges. Use apples. Wallpaper adhesive is water soluble so water-based primer will dissolve rather than seal it.

I've been running a small business for quite a few years and I do a lot of flip house and remodels and I would say 8 out of 10 jobs I get have wallpaper that needs to be removed or covered. I always just go with the oil based paint it really sucks to work with but it's always going to be a guarantee that it's going to seal it up and you'll be good to go for paint. Best wishes!

I've said it before and I'll say it again...skim coat with lightweight premix joint compound with ad mix (acrylic mortar adhesive) to ensure good bond. Prime with gardz. Apply paint or wallpaper. Job done. Great vid Spencer keep 'em coming.

I’m having these issues. Remixing multiple rooms with wallpaper and the paper backing of it. Very hard to come off. Behind the paper backing they even did light skim coat to cover the original textured walls. I was recommended to try and take off as much as possible, soak and wash off with sponge, then apply GARDZ and one light coat of skim before spraying orange peel. Any suggestions?

@@YoBoySosa if the paper backing is not bubbling and hard to scrape off seal with gardz, skim it smooth then spray texture and prime and paint.

A simple and effective way to remove wallpaper with minimal damage to the surface.especially when the walls are just boarded and not plastered or been previously painted or printed.this work especially good on removing woodchip paper which is the worst kind of paper to remove.all you need is an airless sprayer.warm water.no need for scoring the walls but that will speed up the process even more.i ve know decorators to take 2 to 3 days just to strip one room.just crank your sprayer upto say 2000 psi or higher if you want.and spray directly onto the wallpaper.leave for 10 mins for the warm water to do its job then strip away.because of the high psi it ll pierce the surface easily and reach the paste/adhesive on the wall and soften it because of the hot water.cuts stripping wall paper time 10 fold.trust me it works.worst job in the world is stripping wallpaper .especially wood chips and painted anyglypta s.hope this helps everyone.

Garden pump sprayer not mist, fill with 800ml Diff makes 10lit. Will remove that simple no damage. Then 225 sander with a 180 disc. Then one full coat Zinsser Gards. Then do your filling preparation. Spot then two full coats colour of your choice.
But you can clearly see from your videos you are a chancer and not qualified decorator.

That’s a funny comment. Your solution would never work on this product. Andrew, you may in fact be a decorator who in fact is doing it wrong. This is wallpaper that was applied directly onto sheet rock; how is it that your solution would work so easily? Don’t you think other people know how to get wallpaper down easily? Your comment shows that you have an exaggerated sense of self, in my opinion

Not sure how serious to take you after watching this video. Why would you not remove the wall plates prior to priming your walls? Literally takes you seconds. 🤨 and it would help if you used the tiger tool. Lightly score the walls, spray, remove. Pretty disappointing with this specific video, and I normally like all your videos. Probably a house somewhere in the ghetto I hope, and not a high end house. Lbs
