Yep.
The pure shock value of the violence (mostly practical effects) of this movie was insane, the crew did an incredible job. One of my favorite horror flicks!
I think the best thing about it was the fact that Sam produced the original and this film so it had the Evil Dead stamp on it
I still can't believe what a visceral, incredible experience this movie is. I'd never seen the original(s) but saw this in theaters when it came out and H O L Y shit. What a movie.
My boyfriend at the time turned the original on after giving me mushrooms for my first time. Let’s just say that relationship ended soon after. Quite enjoy the movies now though haha.

Of all the slasher films I've seen, that part where he's getting stabbed in the face by that hypodermic needle over and over was one of the most unsettling scenes for me to sit through and I don't even have a phobia of needles.

I ain't gonna hold you, the bathroom scene made me feel light headed like I was gonna faint at the movies. One of the most underrated horrors ever and to me, tied for greatest horror remake with The Thing, The Fly and The Blob.

The original and it's sequels are AWESOME. Including the series "Ash vs. The Evil Dead" They get progressively gorier and funnier. Ash will love it. Hannah probably will too. Especially the original "Evil Dead II" and "Army of Darkness."

If you haven't seen them, I recommend watching the previous three Evil Dead films. Those are titled The Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2: Dead By Dawn and Army of Darkness. There's also a TV series that follows those films

This movie is one of the best remakes ever. I’m pretty sure when everyone saw this in theaters, they thought Mia was gonna die first but she ended up being the one to survive. Everyone in this movie except Mia was dumb asf.
When I first saw this movie in 2013, it terrified me (i had untreated anxiety). Now, it's one of my favorite horror movies ever. I absolutely love watching people react to it. Hannah you did an amazing job getting through this film

I remember when this movie came out, i was working at an electronics store and had it playing on all the tvs in the store. The next day we had a visit from corporate, trying to figure out why we were playing that movie in front of children.

The 2013 evil dead “remaking” is one of the best ever. It’s in my top 10 probably top 5 of all time horror movies.
This movie was made on tiny budget,when I first seen this I thought the devil made it,the cellar and woods scenes were genuinely frightening
The original(81) was made on a tiny budget this one was not.

@@wonderlandian8465 What? The original 1981 Evil Dead had a budget of 350k(include inflation & that's still only $1.1 mil today). The 2013 remake's budget was 17 mil(include inflation & that's 22mil). There's no comparison, the original(1981)Evil Dead did A LOT more with what they had.

I was dreading this remake when it first came out because I'm a huge fan of the original movies. But this movie blew me away. I absolutely loved it and it's one of the better remakes out there.
Same, Evil Dead 2 is without doubt one of my favourite classic horror movies of all time...
But this movie just blew me away, I felt like they changed mainstream horror to just being spooky jump scares, and I like those movies

Fun story, I took a girl on a date when this was released thinking it was going to be campy like the previous installments and was unaware she was very catholic. Needless to say, she left the theater 30 minutes in and I never heard from her again.

This movie is based on the original Evil Dead, from 1981.
The original is a all time gore horror classic. It was a genre changer, when it came out.
There are two Evil Dead sequels and a TV show with 3 seasons (from the 2010th).
The next Evil Dead movie is just cumming out, this April.
It was planned as a streight to stream movie. But the overwhelming positive reactions by the test screen audiences changed that.
Evil Dead Rise will be shown at cinemas... And I encourage every fan of the genre to watch it 😉
I saw this in theaters when I was 16. When the movie was over as I was leaving I heard a girl behind me say to her boyfriend "I'm going to have nightmares for weeks."

There is a new one coming out in April called Evil Dead Rise and it looks like it is also gonna be a real good one. Apparently it was supposed to go straight to streaming but the test screenings did so good they decided to give it a theatrical release so I’m definitely gonna go see that.
