This juniper stump is the biggest thing I've put on my lathe so far.

  • In this house we love the Utah Juniper and wish to celebrate it by attempting to make a display platter in which we keep the unique live edge of the tree front and center!
Will we find Chatoyancy inside?? I mean, it's pretty obvious just by peeking at the outside, but still, watch and find out!

You know Justin, I really gotta say, I love that fact that you don’t put background music. I really enjoy listening to the actually sound of the wood turning and carving without and “interruptions” (Aside from you taking ofc 😅). I’ve watched essentially every video of yours and I’m loving them. Keep up the great work!!❤

Tree loving Wisconsinite here! When you make Wisconsin for your wooden map of the US, I think Tamarack Larch is a great candidate! As the Cranberry state, we have a lot of acidic bogs, where cranberries are native- as well as acid loving Tamarack trees, which grow in bogs all across the state. Please consider!

This one particular video had a lot of silent, almost hypnotic space in between dialogue, where we are inmersed in the wood working process as if we are there. Silently working, watching, softly smiling, a mega dose of exhilaration for all the patience junkies, being a part of turning one expression of life on earth into another as it moves with you now and next on its own accord, motionless, back to it's home as earth. A mirror so damn good you didnt even notice the reflection of one. Didn't know it was all you.
