GG on the success of this video man! It's Catmanjoe here on the Podcast account but it's always good to see you uploading new content bro, hope things are going well. it's crazy how late I was to get a Nintendo Switch since I only bought mine back in 2022 but it's quickly grown to become one of the most beloved consoles I've had. I'd highly recommend you try either Stardew Valley or Factorio on the Switch, I played my Switch now & again until I bought those games & now I've spent way too many hours on it haha.
The switch was already using dated technology 7 years ago when it released. 3 years into it's life it was very noticeable how poor the performance of it was. 5+ years into it's life and most people are sick of it. I know I'm not alone in running switch games on other devices / emulators just to play the games at a comfortable frame rate and with upscaled graphics. Nintendo has never been about trying to outperform the competition's hardware, but the switch is the first time the performance either stayed the same, or went backwards from the previous console. That means Nintendo hasn't released a console that was more powerful than the last since 2012. Over a decade. People honestly should be a bit fed up with the considerably worse looking AND performing games on the switch. Breath of the Wild nor Tears of the Kingdom can run at a steady 30fps, that's kinda pathetic for where technology is at.
i feel you on this. i was like 10-11 when the switch released. i have had my fun with it over the years, but even as a kid it didn't feel the same as my Wii U which i loved to death. i never saw myself getting excited for any switch games really and i don't play it every day.
Literally! What I loved about the Wii U too is that there was actually a community. Not like the Switch where it’s just CZcamsrs and Twitters yapping about a new game but an actual community like Miiverse where you friend and play with random people, draw stuff, Smash Bros custom levels etc. The Wii U is heavily underrated.
Btw dude your content is gold. At least for me I think its really interesting to see the effect nintendo consoles had on the generations that followed mine. I grew up with gamecube and saw everything pass through to this point and like you say even if we have bangers of games it has gotten to the point where what any nintendo fan from back in the day would wish for (aka me) isnt enough... thats like for a video essay bro
The switch is bland was a great concept but it as too many limitations and killed the old nintendo branding of "Fun , having personnality being innovative and fresh "
the switch is really interesting to me, followed it from the first couple of leaks in 2015, got the console at launch just for bomberman r (and also because it came out 2 days before my birthday) and depsite the number of hours playing it and games i have for it, it has just never really captervated me compared to systems like the 3ds or even the wii u, the ui being bland and no personality, alot of the games being ports and the new exclusives i didnt really care about or werent as good as preivous titles (with the exception of games like mario wonder, mario + rabbids, mario odyssey, mario party superstars) its just a console that while i think is good, ive never had any particual opinion or memories on it or cared about all that mcuh
Very coincidentially, I downloaded Ryujinx (Switch emulator) just on it's 7th year of existence. But, I have evidence of the low durability, not only of the joycons, but the replayability value of this console. Yes, it is just around the corner of its life cycle, but then we have PS4 and XBOX One still having massive impact on people's lives before, during and after the new consoles. They still feel fresh, it is just that the innovation on the switch only lasted like 2-3 years, after that, there was no freshness. Certain time after, the next game launches didn't feel like they were made for having fun, but to make money, feed the farm simulator leeches or create hype around other more important games. Just an opinion tho, that was my experience and my cousin's.
I mean as a casual player I just enjoy it for what it is. I grew up on the wii u so I think for what it is it just works. There’s gonna be a switch 2 eventually probably 2025. But I think i just enjoy it and move on. Lol.
As a handheld fan, I never really had an interest in the Switch, because it threw out a good 16 years of innovation in handheld design, tacked on some stuff that made it even worse to put in a pocket than the Game Boy Advance that it called back to like sticks fragile enough that regular gameplay would lead to drift, let alone rubbing against a pocket, being pushed in one direction for hours on end, and was so big you couldn't really even put it in one if you wanted to. I said in 2017 that I think a better execution would be to just make the NX platform a unified one with both home and handheld variations that focus on performance vs battery life while still being compatible with the same games, and I was kind of vindicated in the existence of the Switch Lite.
Oh wow you have no interest in a 7 year old console? It’s almost like it’s at the end of its life cycle like ever other console every created.. great thanks Einstein
@@NG20 yeah I watched it and it’s still a bs dumb excuse.. the switch has the best lineup since the Xbox 360/ps3 generation. So if you lost interest that just means your taste in games suck
It was less of a excuse and more of just my reason but I get where you’re coming from. I hope the next gen of consoles somewhat captivate me, this gen was kinda…mediocre to me.
hey i recoment trying the good games on the console there are more than only mario odysey and you said you didn't like replaying mario odysey but i feel like nowedays most AAA singleplayer games aren't made anymore with replayability in mind and that's not only nintendo
The only reason I finally bought a switch a year ago was cause it cost me a 20usd. The lil kid I got it from spilled water on it and rusted out the joystick ribbon cable. Went to replace it then saw the rust. I only own mario odyssey, metroid dread and remastered. Funny thing is i bought the gamecube specifically for metroid prime as well
Rip yuzu as well. That was the only way zelta botw and totk were enjoyable lmao. So much nicer in 60fps with the graphical improvements. Not my style of game though so whatever
I'm still enjoying the hell out of it, just got FFXII, Blasphemous II and Signalis and am no-lifeing them all, if you want big AAA 3d games then i guess yeah it can be dissapointing, if you are willing to give older games, indy games and 2D games a chance then there's really no better platform for them. Depends on your taste i guess, i was already playing all these kinds of games on the PS4 anyways, so the Switch is more than capable for me, if anything the PS4 felt like a waste of money lol
No? I just think the Nintendo Switch run wasn’t as good as Nintendo’s other consoles and the system itself had nothing captivating about it. Again I stated in the video I started losing interest 2 years into the consoles life but this vid is just about me, I know other people don’t feel the same way.
Like you admitted towards the end of the video, it sounds like you’re just not into gaming anymore. These things happen as people grow & evolve. Maybe it’s time to pick up a new hobby?
I already had a lot of hobbies beforehand so dropping videos games wasn’t really hard for me lol but one new hobby I got into was music. I’ve been producing my own beats in FL Studio since around September.
I mean if the only games you play are mario and sonic then yeah its gonna get boring. Theres a bunch of better games like zelda, metroid, bayonetta, splatoon, bioshock, doom and more on switch
True. I did try them out with friends switches & demos that I later deleted but again it was a case of “it’s cool” but nothing really more than that for me. Even Breath of The Wild I actually got it on Wii U a year or two ago because it’s the same as the Switch version but I still didn’t really have that much fun with it. It’s just me though obviously.
The Switch feels super dated, and the new releases are just not exciting.
i have a jailbroken nintendo switch loaded with so many games and i still find myself picking up the 3ds over it every day lmao

I'll be honest bro i've been enjoying my 3ds again wayy more

I just pray to god that the switch 2 is hackable, because unless it’s got something really special you should just get a Linux based handheld
The switch is bland was a great concept but it as too many limitations and killed the old nintendo branding of

Lol so you don’t think this console is fun and innovative? You’re a special kind of stupid aren’t you?

Switch is probably the greatest Nintendo console ever tho but to each their own
this is the best comedy i've seen on a nintendo chanel to date 4:07

Do you find this odd? Most consoles die much faster than 7 years. 7 years is a massive accomplishment.
No? I just think the Nintendo Switch run wasn’t as good as Nintendo’s other consoles and the system itself had nothing captivating about it.
