I've been circling these. Thanks. You made my decision easier. (Especially since the site gives no real info on how 3", 6" and 12" are used/implemented).
An alternative is using the regular wall hangers on a piece of hardwood. That way you aren't limited to the 16" spacing. You don't have the ability to change the spacing afterward as easily as this system though.
Nice review Patrick. Can you tell me how much spacing is available between the arms on the hangers? I have a 7 string guitar and a 6 string bass and I'm curious if the hangers can accommodate their width. Also, having used the hangers for a while now, how well does the foam hold up on the hangers?
Hey Cody - Im assuming your talking about the "U" shaped part of the hanger that the guitar headstock sits (hangs) in, if so its 2 1/2 inches on center. You can widen' or squeeze the "U" part to accomidate your guitars no problem. I squeezed one of mine down to accomidate a teleaster which has a pretty slim headstock. Squeezed it down from 2 1/2 inches to 1 3/4 inches no problem. I don't think you will have any problem with your guitars, but, hey the handers only 12 bucks order one first just to make sure. So far so good on the foam looks like the day I installed it. I love the hanger I think you will too, if i thought it sucked i would tell you, but that is not the case. if you have any other questons don't hesitate to drop a line -Cheers
Glad u liked it. So if your talking about the foam on the metal hangers, I have no covers at all using them just as they came from the manufracturer. Works fine no discoloration or adverse effects at all. - cheers
Do you find that with the 6" an electric say the size of a Strat would have clearance off the wall if turned full on sideways? I ask because I may snag this setup, and I have something on the order of uh... Well, suffice to say I have a lot of guitars. Like, a lot.
Am I missing something on the install? If your first screw head is on a stud, and there is say 1/2" or so of the aluminum channel on the end, drilling every 16" means that the last screws will fall 1/2" short of being located on a stud. I cant wrap my mind around this and why the don't sell it as 49" as a standard?
Hi Patrick, I’m looking for this specific guitar hanger are showing on this video and I just can’t find it... I liked it because they Seems to go very sturdy. anyway... could you post the link of these hangers please. Thank you very much. Miguel.
Hi Miguel - here is the link to the page diamondlifegear.com/guitar_hanger_mx.html I have the chrome hangers 6 and 12 inch and the maple 48 inch slatwall.
But they don't swivel in the way that they need to. Unlike the pictures on their website, this hanger oh has one degree of motion - left and right. The aw cannot be rotated to make it safely support any headstock. Also, unlike the picture on the site, there is no locking mechanism, there is no metal clasp - it is rubber. It's not at all what they have pictured. Just be aware of that.
Call me crazy but, why don't they just make the hook coverings safe for nitrocellulose finishes instead of suggesting a work around? Duh? Guess I'll look for a company that does. Sheesh. Same with guitar stands. Nothing like buying a product and then having to modify that product (aka spend more money) before I can use it. I think Angus Black has the real answer. BUILD YOUR OWN. That's my plan.
Thank you Patrick for your prompt response... I’ve tried to find on the internet without success... You really helped me...
Thank you again. Miguel.
Your welcome Miguel

Great video. I'm sold. One question, though...what did you use for covers (if anything at all)? Thanks.

I have the chrome hangers 6 and 12 inch and the maple 48 inch slatwall.
Oils from leather will do a heck of a lot more damage than that pad.
Great video! Just wondering if the heads swivel? I see your guitars are facing the left, I would need mine to face the right. Thanks
Not a problem, you will be all set, the heads swivel through 180 degrees - cheers

I wish they made black hangers, and i wish they sold the slots (and corresponding router bit) as a DIY kit..
they do make black hangers diamondlifegear.com/guitar_hanger_mx.html scroll about 1/3 of the way down the page.
