This DIY guitar wall hanger can be built with just a couple of basic tools! All you need is a cheap coping saw to cut out the shape of the wood base, and a drill to drill holes for the pipe!
I recently decided that I needed to play guitar more, but I realized right away that one of the main reasons why I never practice, was because my guitar was always in its case, in a closet, hidden away. What I really needed, was a guitar stand or something so that my guitar could be out where I could easily grab it and start practicing my mad scales skills!
Worth noting is that I own about 6 guitars now, so I wanted something that had some scalability. (ha). Anyways, I decided that a diy wall mounted guitar hanger would be the perfect way to go. Not only would a diy guitar stand be perfect for what I needed, I could make more of them as I added more guitars to my collection.
I designed my diy wall guitar mount from black pipe and caps, along with some ambrosia maple and saddle stitched leather sleeves to protect the guitar. I've never stitched leather before, and I was really happy with how well my first go at leather working came out. I might even tackle some more leather working projects in the future!

Awesome build Jake! Good tips and tricks as usual. And those boots look great!
Thanks man! I appreciate the support! And yes, definitely loving these boots. #sponsored #finally đ
Looks great and enjoyed see you use a variety of materials!
Thank you! I felt like I needed to try something a little different.
this is pretty cool, but if be worried about the poor caps dinging the guitar neck or headstock. maybe some plastidip or even spray bed liner before wrapping the pipe in leather? getting a chip in the guitar at that spot is a bad day
Yeah, this is definitely somethigng to address. I would like to make some wood caps (instead of the metal ones). But honest, I just look at my guitars mostly, so its not often that they have the chance to get damaged from the metal caps.
Great looking build Jake!
Thank you!
Dang. I don't have a laughalope... I love your "clamp the belt sander to the table" trip. Great video!
I'm sure I can get you a Laughalope. They are always looking for new homes!

I really want to make some sort of wood fixture for the belt sander, I think that would be pretty sweet.
@@MakewithJake I've been clamping the handle of my belt sander in my vice. Similar to your method. I could definitely see myself making something to hold it in a more idea way.
It would definitely be a handy tool!
Looks great Jake!
Thanks Grant!
You really need Chuck to show you how to load a bit into your drill press. LOL at 1:58!
Yeah, he had that day off. Something about vacation. Whatever that is.
Love this! What thickness of wood did you use? I may have missed it if you said in the video...
3/4" maple.
thanks for watching!
Hi, Well done, interesting work. I try to make guitars and shoot a video about this on my CZcams channel
Woh, you have some sweet guitars! I love the clear with the electronics showing through. Very nice!
