    I really like how you told us all of your trial and error throughout this process. They don't make furniture like they used to so I feel like refurbishing furniture is a must nowadays. Thanks for videoing all the hard work you put into this project and taking the time to edit and post this video

    I love the result! Thank you for sharing great details on the entire process. Been researching on how to achieve a raw wood look for my dining chairs and so far, your method is the best! ❤

    I’m wanting to do this to my whole bedroom set which is pretty dark. I was going to paint them but I like the lightening of the wood like you did. Love this. Lot of work but well worth it.

    You really went through the bleachers, thanks for sharing. Osmo Raw 3044 is great for retaining natural wood without darkening as is has white pigments in it.

    Your are a life saver! This is absolutely georgous!! The perfect natural look. I started tackling this oak dresser and I am tearing off veneer but it has a beautiful solid oak top drawers and frame. I will have to replace sides with an oak wood. Anyways, I want this natural look so bad. I have been watching videos for days and Bingo! Here it is. I am excited to do this now.
    Thank you so much!!

    I love the look of the finished bed. It is exactly the look I am going for so I'm glad I came across your video. From the research I have done the 2-part bleach is a 3% lye solution applied first and then a 30% hydrogen peroxide on top. I am a soap maker so I have the lye and have just received the peroxide. I can't wait to do it. The bleached wood of your bed has a very calming, peaceful look.

    Is it oak ? I read that you shouldn't use steel wool on oak as the fragments from it lodge in the grain and react with the tannins in the wood.

    Why didnt you just sand the stain off right from the start?

    • @InBetweenChaos
      @InBetweenChaos  Před 2 lety +2

      Hi Lori, Sanding lots of detail can be really tough and you might lose the detail. Also, the center panels were veneer, which you can't sand too much. Hope that helps!

  • @annaoslo8650
    @annaoslo8650 Před 2 lety

    Why not just sand and sand until you reach the raw wood?

    • @InBetweenChaos
      @InBetweenChaos  Před rokem +3

      Anna, sanding can work, but on the veneer parts, you may sand through the veneer before you can get the color you want. Also, stripping helps on curved parts that are difficult to sand, like the posts.

    • @annaoslo8650
