Don't care about any of this when no one got to see Mercedes W11 at this circuit in 2020. That would have been a monster on this circuit.
Would be amazing just see what it was capable of now when there were no crowds to watch it during 2020 season.
      Now it's a £400 million paperweight.
I think Mercedes owe it to the fans to see it in anger as it was at its peak technological performance before its features like DAS was banned in 2021

Degner 1 looks like a sharp corner but it should be considered as more of a fast corner (it's like 65-70 degrees to the right). In lower formulas people just lightly tap the brakes and jump on the throttle way before the apex. In F1 it doesn't seem like the even come off the throttle completely, but they still brake lightly. This is why it's not surprising that the current gen beats the previous, as ground-effect cars are better at these types of corners.

0:22 to counter the argument, I think the peak, in some ways, is 2019 rather than 2020. The reason is that when I looked at the 2020 vs 2019 Spanish GP qualifying sector times, 2020 was slower in the tight and twisty final sector. So 2019 perhaps had the highest mechanical grip from cars and tires combined. But who knows, maybe corrected for weight, 2024 might get close (Bahrain was a surprise and the tires have become so grippy in certain conditions).

They get impressed by one single race of Sainz with no appendix, but forget how much the first of Max's WDC was built with Perez's help. I doubt Alonso or Sainz in the same car have any remote chance of beating Max.

Perez was the right pick when he signed, and will have an F1 record anyone would be proud of, but let’s not pretend he is anything but lost in his car. His teammate in the same car is leaving the field, while Perez cannot be counted to get in the top 4 on qualifying. nicely spotted.... i think it might be a telemetry error.. cause he roughly decelerates the same amount as the others (and himself the prev year where he braked) from the same point he lifts of throttle. I dont think thats explainable by engine braking and more drag on the car for example. It is noteworthy however that he does downshift in 2023 ( 8th to 7th gear where he stayed in 7th prev year) I think this helps with engine braking, like it translates to more resistance on the wheels.. so maybe he didnt brake after all

No lmao. The W11 was literally THE fastest F1 cars have gotten. A lot of it was the DAS system which let them control not only tire temps with toe, but also less wear, and better straight line speed/cornering. Everything about it was better then the W10

Perez doesn't drive the same car🤭, he has to drive a car built COMPLETELY on Max's driving style and preferences... If It would be the opposite Checo would still be behind ,because Max has more talent, but not by the crazy gap we see in real life.

For me it's so obvious that Red Bull doesn't care about their second drivers, it's been like this since 2019... Gasly, Albon and now Checo aren't as good as Max but they were, and Checo still is, miles behind him; I don't think that's very realistic.

      Peak delusion.
Imagine being so good at what you do that people have these kind of wild and stupid theories just because they can‘t cope with the fact that their favourite driver gets made to look like a clown every week by Max.
Max is truly the greatest driver since Schumacher.

Lewis like Max is the unbelievable driver and Bottas is on the same level as Checo but he managed to score a lot more pole positions and wins than Perez, he wasn't so far behind Lewis like Checo is with Max.

@@vamositalia4600 Because Max is way better than Hamilton ever was ? No version of Hamilton is anywhere near current Max.
Stop with that bs about RB building their car solely around Max. It‘s simply not true, no team has ever built their car around 1 driver.
They simply build the fastest car possible and Max adapts to whatever he‘s given. I‘m tired of stupid comments like yours from people with 0 clue about the sport.
