    Hi there.
    Great to see the all the marvellous bikes. Behind the record breaking bikes is a picture of my father in law racing his Norton sidecar! He was British-sidecar champion 12 times and third in the world in 1960. Thanks for taking us around👍😀

    And to think a lot of the building and collection was destroyed by a fire in 2003, they’ve done a fantastic job recovering since then. I was amazed when I went, I walked round a display hall thinking is that it? Then I found the door through to the next hall, then another and another and so on. What a huge fascinating collection, it’s amazing the number of different makes, some where only a few were made, and lots of obscure manufacturers that I’d never heard of. A good place to visit.

It was certainly a walk down "memory lane" for me as I was able to recognise several of the bikes that I owned while living in the uk many years ago. And, also many thanks to Jenny for being so patient while Bob was filming.

    That Pick at 3:39 is part of our history 😊 People may have heard of pick cars made in Stamford but they also made one motorbike my family ended up owning the Pick company when it was in ST Martins garage if i had been born a few years earlier i could have been a works test rider 😃😂

    Nice to see the old Norton's - they briefly supplied the services with a rotary engined bike called the Interpol and I had the pleasure of riding one for a while . Really different being a Wankel engine, little or no engine retardation when the throttle was turned off. Enjoyed looking at the old machines, I have done a few tracks sessions on different bikes up the road at Donington, but we have to visit there. Helen used to ride a 600cc Yamaha so she would also enjoy it to i'm sure.

    Just a quick question Bob, have you ever done a comparison pro's and cons video between national trust and English heritage? I can't justify joining both at the moment but get confused about the visit costs once we've joined. Love to hear your thoughts. Another great video by the way, we've been with you from the start and your one of the main reasons we changed from a caravan to a motorhome. Cheers

    • @BobEarnshawMoHo
      @BobEarnshawMoHo  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks, that's an idea for a video. We are members of both. Visits to the properties are free on both National Trust and English Heritage. Membership of English Heritage also gives you access to Historic Scotland (reduced rate first year), and Cadw (half price first year) in Wales. National Trust membership also gives you access to National Trust For Scotland and National Trust Northern Ireland. Plus, free parking at the properties.
