      Slipknot were that in the beginning, but soon evolved to things as groove, alternative, sometimes thrash. I think many people should listen to their albums. There's more than just the hits.

      ECM record label. A lot of big jazz albums came out on it that all sounded pretty similar, almost like a floaty straight eighth feel

    I didn’t expect him to play Songo I believe it was #80. Being Puerto Rican we use that style in our Churches a lot for fast upbeat songs. Awesome job Brother!!!!

      Massa mesmo! Mas tem alguns errinhos. .. tipo Afoxé que em si não é o ritmo e sim o culto e talz... o ritmo é o Ijexá.
      O "Choro" ou "Chorinho " não teve nada a ver como é o ritmo de verdade. Samba sem aros (tamborim característicos ). Não tô reclamando mas de certa forma ensinar e a nível mundial tem que ser impecável. Mas nossos ritmos foram lembrados :)

    I wonder if the drum kit will ever be replaced or phased out as a sound in music. It didn't always exist but is now vital in so many styles. Has it's limitations now been reached. I wonder what the next instrument to revolutionise music will be.

    Brandon had made another video with different styles before, and now this one, both very interesting and a lot of work indeed. As drum teacher I think it's very interesting to connect styles to songs that represent these grooves or feels. I do that for myself and for my students.     These aren't "styles" these are rhythms. A style might be defined as the way you hold your sticks, or play a rudiment on the cymbal, or dynamics on a beat, how you play the bass drum pedal, sitting position, interpretation of a tune; one drummer may play a fast stick pattern for Caravan differently than another drummer. Elvin Jones "style ' was very different to Tony Williams on any rhythm. Maybe this is an Americanism? I have been teaching drums and percussion for 45 years and I teach these as rhythms. Am I wrong after so many years?

      Well to me a rhythym is the arrangement of beats so some country and some death metal might have the same rhythym. As you said, America's often different

    Hey man, great video, may i suggest some south-american rhytmns such as "chacarera" "candombe" and "marcha camion". Very popular rhytmns in argentina, uruguay, etc.
