Thank you all for the feedback!! If you'd like to hear what these sound like with the ORIGINAL backing tracks, I conjured one up for y'all. Be sure to let me know which one you prefer! Enjoy
Cole Dockter i like when itâs the original in the background
Cole Dockter have you ever heard of Matan Shmoeli.
Is a great drummer, he play in a band called Orphaned Land
You should chack 'em out:)
War pigs get me so hard
Do a Dream Theater one
Megadeth
Rust in peace whole album
7:30 the guitar made me question my existence
Sutton Coffman lol
Its not played right
That was absolutely criminal
Yeah it was pretty mediocre
At least thereâs no bass in the mix. Just like the original one. Yay.....
Iâm leaving.
You didn't play def leopard with one arm.
MyNameIsMud lol
Really Leopard?
Death Leppard!
@Elijah Denning it might've auto corrected
@@daroblackheart383 hope that was a joke
I hope there's somethings your bad at, like forgetting to brush your teeth or not being able to tie your shoes... so we could feel better about ourselves.
Great drumming man, but the backing tracks are pretty abysmal.
Thanks for the comment Devin! Honestly, it kills me to see so many people not liking the backing tracks! I thought I had these nailed. :) I brought in some friends and they recorded all the DI guitars as close to the original as possible. (Granted, I did bring them in and just throw 50 tracks in their face.) And then, the tone was decided by yours truly using VST's in Cubase. This combined with the time crunch may have lead to some sloppy tracks (and there are some in here I wish I had spent more time on.)
My question for you guys that don't like the backing tracks is - why? I was planning a follow up for all of the tracks I missed and don't want to make the same mistake twice. Let me know below what your beef is, be it accuracy, tone, timing, missing lyrics, whatever. I want to improve for you guys. Thank you for your feedback, and I hope you guys come back next week. - Cole
Wow, didn't expect this to blow up. Just to be clear. I LOVE the video and what you are doing with it. Really a great idea, and better playing.
I think my biggest beefs are the missed timings and tone. Not all of these are easy to play, that is clear. For me, it was just taking away from your great playing. The tone is also taking away from the sound. You might try actually recording the guitar with an amp then using stomp box sims to try to achieve the tone you are going for.
Kinda disappointing that my top comment is something negative. Sorry about that, I am a firm believer in trying to improve everyday. I guess sometimes it isn't always in the nicest way.
Cole Dockter lol you pinned a negative comment.
It was already at the top! Thought I'd be better off addressing it than trying to hide it, I'll unpin when I feel like I've received enough feedback :)
Cole Dockter that's a great way to look at it. Cool to know that you are opened to improving
That's not the legendary part of Tom Sawyer...it's the actual drum solo part.
Facts
At least it's included
He didn't even play it right
I would say every part of Tom Sawyer is legendary but of course the drum solo stands out the most.
Also kinda dummed that intro down a bit....
I LOVE that you included a Muse song. Dom is a great drummer
But muse ainât a good band
USDD Gaming just because you donât like them, it doesnât mean theyâre not a good band lol
Muse!
@@DemonGamingLLC
Muse fucking rock... The fact that you can't see it doesn't mean they don't.
Could have been a better song though
Stargazer by Rainbow
Entertaining as hell! Gr8 job. The snare sounds spectacular sir.
you used your whole kit exept that one lonesome symbal under the ride, and it kind of frustrates me
The poor stack :(. It'll get some love if there's a metal version :)
yaaay
Cole Dockter please do that, but just blast beat every single one
You could have used it for bleed
*cymbal
Am I the only who noticed that feet pattern on "Bleed" isn't a herta and just straight 16th notes?
Um yeah
Yeah he didn't play it right
He could be adding his own fills maybe
Can you actually play it?
@@nightlust oh, well, you're the "you can't criticize the cook if you're not the cook" type
Wow soad's drums parts are really unique and beautiful, John is such a great drummer!
This was so solid, had a good time watching you play. Like the backing track aswell, it didn't distract from the drumming. Well done, man!
Dude going from Bleed to Take Five to Money and then to Pour Some Sugar on Me took me by surprise. Your musical taste is as amazing as your drumming
Honestly all of them could have been Zeppelin
ashley 1010 or none of them
@@ToyotaChariots None of them is a reach. Bonzo was a spectacular drummer and that single foot triplet is a killer for most drummers too.
Okay boomer
You still need some Rush and Nirvana.
Zeppelins fills were good, but you also want to have a good selection from other bands
Awesome video, you should try this with underrated songs from bands
You Missed Angel Of Death By Slayer
Metal 920 no he didnât:
czcams.com/video/JcH9bVIu1EE/video.html
You mean that tiny snippet of a drum he threw in there? Yes he did miss Angel of Death.
GREEEEEE
@@JustAGuyWithALongScreenName The drum break is the only iconic part of that drum groove imo
Alex didnât play that on kicks but that was straight kick ass
yes he did
Great job mate. A lot of effort went into that. Thanks. Wonderful playing and the kit sounds fantastic.
what kinda snare is that man? sounds great
its in the description
It's a Gretsch Silver Series 14 x 6.5" Maple snare. I found it used on eBay and love it :). I'll update my description to better reflect that.
Bryan Ferrante personally I didn't like the snare
Bryan Ferrante its same one Lars used in St.Anger.
It sounds shit lol đ Get a CS Dot head, crank it to a medium-high, and overtighten the snares so it muffles the reso head. Get some moongel until you have no ring.
âMy heroâ foo fighters. Should be on here
8:42. Youâre welcome.
You are such a badass drummer to watch. I love how freely and smooth you flow through your kit from tom to tom and even the closed handed to the open handed playing. Your rudiments are astonishing also. Im an 18 year old drummer that has been playing since I could walk and I see so much of your playing that I wish upon myself to be able to do. Love your videos and I hope do see more. Your content is awesome Cole and your one hell of a drummer. Keep up the awesome work man.
Been expectin' Bleed. Was not disappointed.
Any body else expect John the fisherman after yyz
Isn't "To defy the Laws of Tradition" after that part?
@@JayBigDadyCy it is
Dream theater!! Honor thy father!!
Hell yeah I love this! Perfect transitions!
great job! loved it
Rosetta Stoned maybe?
Too hard lol
Insanely hard...tbh I would even put the ending drum solo of The Grudge here
A guy named John Kew did it, itâs on CZcams. Itâs a really good cover. He is a pretty underrated drummer, and has a lot of Tool covers.
BakenBaconGaming yeah he does them spot on too
@@bakenbacongaming4255 the closest to Danny Carey ive seen so far man is insane.
Playing was dope! Backing tracks weren't half as bad as the comments made them out to be either. Overall super awesome and very entertaining! đ
Great drumming. Thank you for the video
That was super awesome, dude
Anthrax - Indians anyone?
Shithead how about the beginning of caught in a mosh?
Definitly was expecting this one
very well done
Awesome work !!!
I love how he does it all so effortlessly and then in the middle of a song throws the stick in the air and doesn't miss a beat , what a beast
Radiohead - High and Dry
Rainbow - Stargazer
Primus - John the Fisherman
Melvins - Revolve
This guy is good as hell, real smooth playing
Jake L many parts are easier than the originals and sometimes he goes out of the tempo, he's good but nothing special. It's a nice video by the way :)
No feeling, very mechanical IMHO. Still better than I could play.
Yup, you answered to everything i was hoping from part 2! now it all makes more sense. thank you for sending me this way!
Loved this vid, great drumming!
Cole, I cant believe all the crap people are giving you for petty shit. Keep rocking!
Andy Guy CantYouLift I agree
He didn't play bleed the right way though
FIHaak probably because that song is really difficult to endure for even short periods of time lol
What was he doing wrong?
I agree
Michael Carver look closely, compare it to a professional cover
Austin A yeah I get that, I'm just saying
I think those might be the best sounding toms and heads I've ever heard. That's what they should sound like. Great drum video...
Love youâre kit and cymbals! You really make that kit sing!
Nailed those Time Sig switches back an forth on schism.
EDIT: BTW August 30th new Tool album. Been over a decade. Get ready
Eugh
Waited to see how the cookie sheet was used, was not disappointed
Daniel Smith reminds me of yyz by rush, when Neil smacked a piece of plywood on a stool!
Rman8018 in YYZ, when you hear that SMACK in the background. It happens a few times I think about the middle of the song.
dude, that was awesome man. Great job on pulling those parts out for us to hear.
Great job man
I'm surprised Ringo's solo from "The End" isn't in here.
tymime should've had that or Come together
Omgggg that solo is fantastic
I'm pretty sure he did Come Together...
Maxwell Wichhart 11:38
Ringos greatest moment. Canât help play along with that solo
From "Bleed"
To
"Take 5"
There's a wide spectrum musical tastes.
Awesome job!!
Hope there will be a part ll * ^ *
Great job!! I like the way you put it all together....
I'm not hating or what but i'm just dissapointed that he didn't do the shuffle in rossana
Bon Jovi Escamos he botched it big time
I'm not sure which video you're watching, but Rosanna is one he played perfectly.
The beginning of the intro of hot for teacher before the double kick is with da floor tom
Originally recorded by Eddie on keyboards lol
FXLite I never knew lol
Freaking awesome talent! A beautiful gift! The drums are the heartbeat of a song!. â€ïž
Really like the snare sound, good video, youâre very talented
Awesome vid, but no âSing, Sing, Singâ by Benny Goodman? Thatâs arguably the most famous swing lick of all time. But props for throwing in STYX.
Ian Paice? Fireball,...
Dude you are so solid and smooth! Really enjoyed this video and the sound of your kit. Keep it man, đđŒđ€đœ
Alot of inspiration here for some songs to jam to in the future. Thanks alot man!
9:40 - I see a TesseracT-fan. Nice!
Polaris is just awesome!
Needs moar pedal hat.
Love that Polaris shirt
I think enter sandmanâs intro should be on here
Great job mate!đ„đ„đ„
Very cool. Love that snare!
6:50 Hardest drum part in history.
Lol
Steely Dan has some pretty great drum tracks.
Bill Ward and especially âWar Pigsâ was a major influence of mine as a young player getting excited about playing drums.
Awesome video!
Awesome!
Found some new songs; thanks!
I missed Vinnie Paul, i mean he got some pretty badass things like the double kick pattern in becoming and the creativity en each pantera song that you hear, he deserves a place in any drum top :'(
Agreed! Becoming is the song that got me into Pantera when I was in high school and 20+ years it's still one of my favorite Pantera songs.
You are so damn right! đ€â€ R.I.P Vinnie â€
Would like Porcupine Treeâs Bonnie the Cat in the list đ
He might not have played some of the solos everyone was hoping to hear in some of the songs, but with the kit he played on I was entertained. Bravo good sir.
You got me at Schism! haha. this is sooo entertaining! keep up.
Nice work man, pretty decent top 50 list and pretty much everyone knows these including non-drummers. If you're doing a similar video here's some suggestions: Dream Theater 6:00, Toto Rosanna, Jay Z Show Me What You Got, The Violation Fleshgod Apocalypse but yeah, there's too many "legendary" drum parts to mention. I won't even get started talking about Jojo Mayer or Dave Weckl or the rest of them Thomas Lang, Virgil Donati types haha, every drumbeat they play is legendary.
Kevin Bayley Rosanna was in the video
My bad haha.
Held my interest for all 50. Nice job!
Daniel Smith yes but it wasn't well played
I would've liked to see Corporal Jigsaw Quandry by Carcass in this list.
This is going over a million views easy very nice format and interpretation.
Loved it!!!!!!!
I think someone is a big fan of Rock Band lol
What about dream theater?
I guess its too much...
@Kenneth Smith fair enough
Awesome!
Love that you put Molly Hatchet in there, overlooked band
The snare on Painkiller...
Something is wrong with your tuning man. That just hurt
In My Time Of Dying
Achilles Last Stand
Nobody's Fault But Mine
I love zeppelin They are my favourite band but I understand he has to have a good variety of bands
Every song from 2 minutes onwards I literally thought 'im going to flip shit if yyz isn't on here'. Thankyou.
VERY nice transition from sad but true into U2. Just subbed
Ik its only 50 but I was expecting to see Kieth Moon and Mitch Mitchell up there. Great video nonetheless.
I died at Money And when the levee breaks Omg that was bad
Great job
Love this
I see a lot of people complimenting the snare sound but honestly I think itâs not that nice, anyway sick playing man and cool video
Really good! But no Soundgarden?
Jesus Christ Poseee
Love The little flip u Do in beginning
Awesomely done â
This video should just be called "50 Drum lines people recognize from guitar hero/rock band"
But... these are drum lines that are done by phenomenal drummers and are in well known songs.
When the Rosanna shuffle isn't a shuffle..
Is it not?
Tykenolm the ghost notes aren't right
This video rules, thanks for dividing it into sections with titles
Smooth changes, was cool đ
Well shit, I didn't think Lars would've made it
Sepultura- Territoryđđ»
Angra- Nothing to sayđđ»

that
was
awesome
A lot of people are complaining about this video but i doubt they could do near as good. Great video man and Iâm happy you played some Rush.
