      The problem with Denmark is that what it is famous for and what was it's strongsuit in WWII was... navy. It had massive fleet. But it's a fleet. In HoI4 game. You get the idea😅

    I think non-historical Denmark will be very interesting to play:
    At the time, Denmark owned the overseas territories of Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands.
    If you join the allies and develop the non-European territories before 1939, you have a good chance at having fun and not capitulate.
    Also, I wouldn’t just go and build military factories.
    It seems that building a good civilian economy on the non-European territories can give you increased access to allies' guns on the world market.
    Why buying guns instead of producing them? Because it seems to me that the new DLC will give a boost to the major countries' designers.
    I want to play the dlc now 😂

    • @TheArklyte

      What are you planning to "develop" there? Cryptomining wouldn't be around for another 70 years. Offshore oil and gas drilling is at its infancy yet. Tax haven? Ice mining? Fishing? They're just as useless as New Zealand. There's nothing there. At best those can be relocating airfields and naval bases. That's all.

    Actually it's interesting there aren't any censored items... makes me think Denmark might be a contender for a hidden focus? Far fetched, but considering it was basically the most prominent and domineering of the "viking" kingdoms (at least in the Scandinavian region, I think the Norwegians were bigger explorers), I'm hoping for a viking/monarchy path? Would also give conquest goals in the USA.

  • @Therecreep

    5:48 I think there will be two tipping points with the market, one when Germany declares on Poland, and the other when the Soviets and US join the war.
    Initially, it will be cheap and efficient to buy and supply your army with equipment from the market.
    Once Germany declares, and the economies of France, Britain, Italy, and Germany mobilize, there will be less equipment going to the market, and the Soviets/Americans will be the only choice.
    After the Soviets and Americans join the war, you will be forced to pick a side to continue getting shipments, or buy from the extremely few neutral nations willing to sell to you.
    I'd say by around 1942, the International Market will essentially be useless as every fighting country should be "mobilized" by then, meaning you should have been focusing your industry on building mils and importing raw resources by then. It could shake up the way you build your economy, maybe it will be viable to buy equipment from the Americans and build Civs into 1939/1940 now.

      yeah but i rather play Denmark for a few times instead of playing the 100th germany game. No matter the focus tree change, the goals of a nation stay roughly the same. Its extremely nice thst these minors get a few tweaks. They are often way more fun to play anyway

    • @KevVIII
      @KevVIII Před rokem +1

      @@andrefasching1332 I do agree that I rarely play either of those majors in vanilla anymore due to how stale it is... but at the same time, the major nations are FAR more in need of focus revamp even more because of how they set the game when played by AI. My vanilla, PVE games have been very stale because you can be fairly certain as to what Germany/Japan would do.
      Not to mention both of their focus trees have bare-bones alternative history path, making them even more of a pushover and making the overall session into a stale WC. All in all, regardless of what nation I play... even as a Denmark... I would have rather wanted major focus revamp and just use the mods for Denmark or other minors.

      Though I do think Germany should get reworked historically in order to nerf it as the game goes on and just give it big buffs at first. If you can't blitz, you are dead, just like in real life

Another thing I feel like Greece could use is the ability to purchase Cyprus in the industry tree maybe demand northern Epirus from Albania in the political tree
      The German tree is perfectly enjoyable imo, plenty of content, I guess a commie Germany would be a good addition and an expansion of the reichscommussariats might be in order. Otherwise I think the German focus tree is one of the best

    • @itande0551
      @itande0551 Před rokem

      @@panose6542 It is super fun, problem is that it lacks depth once barbarossa starts and gets a bit boring at that point and most times Germany does not suffer as much as it did in real life and you just stay at a stalemate in the Urals for a long time until the USSR either runs out of guns or you run out of guns (even with collaboration), you can literally have a second powerful army at Normandy to fight off D-day, and still be supplied and not moving from the Urals, it takes quite literally invading the other half of Asia to capitulate the USSR or have luck and pierce through the Urals and even then it's a slow advance through Siberia
      And unless you invade super early and super fast it's normally this result, not having much else to do other than take all of Africa, and it is also painfully slow due to the terrain and supply (and Italy)

    I'm mixed. Some ideas are nice, but let's just say it's clearly designed by a Swede
    As for the exile army, Denmark did have a unit in Skåne, which fled early on. The officers of the unit had hoped to use it as support for an allied liberation campaign in the north, but that never came. Sweden was at first quite cautious about hosting them, but relations improved. Plus having an extra free unit by the coast in case of German invasion was a good argument for letting them stay. To the commander's eternal regret, they did little besides taking in refugees and twiddling thumbs, as Sweden, on grounds of their "neutrality", wouldn't let them take any initiative themselves

    @Zack_Wester Před rokem

    I really wish the Civilian factory used for civilian consumption if you had a lot of that (aka more civ factories then needed for civ need) it would on its own spend its construction output on stuff like train lines, infrascruture.
    because does not matter if your example sweden if you have 1 or 100 civ factory producing civilian goods makes no different.
    (when in reality if you had a lot it should produce more political power, stability maybe even voluntairs, pop growth, build rail lines and infrastructures).
    at the same time if you for example only had 1 civilian factory in the whole of the USA it should cause riots.
    also we as gamers probebly need to see things as Historical, Historical if they got anywhere aka danmark surendering after 2 hour vs let say Germany having problem in Poland and for some reason manadge to hold germany back.
    Like in sweden for the Road to 56 mod there was a lot of focuses in it that was more or less plan Democratic sweden would historicaly do but did not.
    be it the window closed or someone told them no.
    or for a few sweden would have joined the war if the UK/US had pladged support, they did not and thoes sweden was really reluctance to join (plus the risk of germany capturing the whole sweden and thoes making it worse for the UK/US better have sweden be a no need to think about status.
