*Should I keep the PPP in moss or should I cut it down and propagate now?*
Feline Jungle keep it
Still in moss right now😬😬😬
Cut 😊
menina_raquel seems like the census here 💚😀
Propagate it!
Okay, let's all take a moment away from the beautiful PPP to admire your editing skills! 🙌 love it ❤🌿
Thank you so much!! That means a lot 🥰🥰🥰I tried something different for the repotting this time!
How are you god bless you
💯
Such a beautiful video! I love that you showed the full extended process instead of cutting it into separate videos. Most people wouldn’t take the time to do that but I really appreciate that!
Thanks so much for watching and your kind words, it means a lot to me! 🌿😸
omg ...cant get over that pink leaf so pretty. ❤️
Me too. Now my PPP is growing like crazy. I hope it will get more pink leaves
Very clever idea, the new leaf is so pink and size more normal than the previous miniature green leaf ❤️
Yes!! I’m so glad the leaves were able to be normal again 😂🌱💚
That pink leave is so pretty, well done!
I’m obsessed with the leaf 💕💕💕
Wooow just found your channel and I love the updates all in one video. Can't wait to see more updates! If you do cut it up can you show the whole process as well as what rooting hormone you use if any? Excited for more of your videos 😌
Will do!! I am probably going to cut it soon, the latest leaf was not so hot. I actually don't use rooting hormone. Do you have a product you recommend?
Great video awesome job bringing the reverted plant back I want to buy a reverted pink princess cutting and try this out myself . Try using a fine mesh netting instead of the plastic it will allow you to water more efficiently I believe.
Omg that pink leaf, so stunning 😭😭
It makes me so happy ☺️☺️ I stare at it every day 😆💚
Thank you for this informative way how get the variegation of the pink princess philo. I will apply to my pink princess too.
Thanks for share the tips of the plant care, my friend.
Thanks for visiting! Hope it is useful for anyone struggling right now.
The drama in day 44 I’m here for it 💚💚 editing is perfection. I’m waiting to get a PPP so thank you for making this video.
And because you asked for opinions, I would put it on a moss pole I wouldn’t cut it yet :)
Thank you 🙏 seem like most of the ppl want me to keep it. I guess I will keep it for longer.
I agree with a moss pole! Leaves grow bigger while climbing up and it looks so happy now
I have been looking for pink princess everywhere...such a beautiful plant!
It’s crazy because they aren’t Rare they are just in high demand they can’t grow them fast enough, I just got mine from New Life Tropicals, And it’s nice size ! , still cheaper with the shipping and Phyto than here . I hope u find one 💕🍃
Sierra Baby I know! I saw a bunch at my local nursery that were pretty small but all of them were reserved already. Hopefully the hype dies down so I can finally have one 😂 glad you were able to get one 💖
Haha yeah patience is key 💕💕💕
I’ve watched at least 20 videos on PPPs and how to care for them. I wish I would have found this video before watching all the others!! So helpful! Thanks!🙏🏼
Glad it was helpful!
This is inspiring as I love to have philodendron one day! 😍
Yay! Philodendrons generally very easy to take care of. They are one of my favorite genus
Thank you for sharing so much information and so clear😍
Glad it was helpful!
I don't know what I would do because it's so beautiful I would be scared to cut it up but you have to. I believe your going to have 5 beautiful plants afterwards. Well I can't wait to see how it all turn out but do believe it will be spectacular !!! Loved your video Thank you 😊😊🙂
Very valuable information, I will keep up with your propagation and snag one up when ready =)
Thanks for watching, hope it's helpful! 😸😸
your pink princess philodendron looks so beautiful i have a rojo congo philodendron what i do know is that you should let the soil completely dry out before watering and it is best to soak the soil thoroughly and then allow it to drain. keep it out of direct sunlight too. it does need light but not direct sunlight. looking forward to seeing your philodendron growth.
Thanks for the advice! My pink princess is pulled back 3 ft from the window to prevent sun damage. I do find that they like some direct light to encourage more variegation. My Florida ghost is the same. 🙈🙈 Rojo Congo’s are beautiful!! I’ve seen a big one at my local shop and it was stunningggg ☺️💚
You got really amazing results with your air layering. I vote for propagating your ppp. I bought mine off eBay. It came in a timely manner but with transport trauma and being transplanted twice, it was just to much trauma that it started to show signs that it wasn’t doing well. Like you, I spent a lot of money for it, so I didn’t want to take a chance and made the decision to chop it up into 5 cuttings. I did water propagation with the top cutting, I had 2 in perlite and 2 in spaghnum moss. The 2 in perlite and 2 in spaghnum moss stayed in a homemade propagation box for about 3 weeks. I have potted the 2 that were in perlite into soil and is doing well so far🤞🏽has roots and new growth point. The top cutting I move to spaghnum moss and is in the propagation box with the other two cuttings that are also in spaghnum moss. Gonna wait another week to plant the other 3 in soil🤞🏽🙏🏽. Really hope they all take and get acclimated to my place outside the propagation box.
That’s so exciting!! Glad to hear different methods of propagation are working too. Was your pink princess around the same size as mine? Also for perlite how much water did you put in it?
I think im okay with propagating it too because the new leaf looks like it’s mostly green and looks like the size of the leaf will be normal again. also the top part has a lot roots right now. So even if I cut it up, I think it will be okay🤞
I’m reading this 10 months later. Which proved to be better the perlite or the spaghnum?
Beautiful Princess 🌱💕 ! I recently finally got mine after waiting 3 months for a Thailand order , because of the pandemic.
I’ve done a lot of research on this plant and I’m surprised it wants to stay more on the Dry side , let it dry out . I haven’t had mine long enough yet but I have it under plant lites and a humidifier. Good draining soil . So far So good I also heard good lighting is key , 👍🏼for the Pink . I’ll be back to see how yours is since we got them close together 💕🍃 I am Not Chopping anything off Anytime soon . I got my info from Legends Of Monstera channel when he visits a couple who has a giant PP - let it dry out she stated I enjoyed this vid so much 🤩🍃💕 You’ve done an amazing job
Wow I always wanted to order internationally! Did your PPP suffer any damage? You reminded that I forgot to mention that I had it next to a humidifier in my new place too!! So I think that also helped a lot. From what I’m hearing, I’ll keep it in moss and then chop it up when the new leaf unfurls! And I have to check out that video from legend of monstera.💚💚💚thank youuu
Feline Jungle No shipping damage I was shocked !
Woahh May I ask where you ordered from? Definitely want to look into it 😬
Feline Jungle New Life Tropicals 😇🌱
Just checked it out quickly. The stuff looks great!
Can’t wait to see an update on this beauty! Have you chopped it already? And how new leaves are doing?😍
Thanks for watching, a new video on its development coming soon 😸😸
Wow the best video ever. I’m gonna try this on my PPP
Oh yay! Excited for your ppp. Would love updates 🥰💚
Pretty Pink Princess 😍 wish mine would grow fast and hope would give me pink leaves too 💚
It will! Patience is key 💚🌱
Great video
😍😍😍 it is beautiful.
The Roots are long , it is time to chop it up and put them on moss poles. Im sure it also likes the humidity that the plastic wrap and moss provides . maybe with a combo of a moss pole and humidifier it will give similar results ? I don’t know lol
I find if you get the moss wet it is easier to take the moss out. .
The roots are crazy long! Yea i found it a lot easier when the moss is wet. Waiting for this last leaf to come out and then CHOP CHOP CHOP :D
Thanks for giving me the courage to try this! My PPP has been shy in giving me pink variegations! It keeps on giving me new leaves, one after the other, but not so much pink variegations. I’ll try this method over the weekend and hope for the best results! Thank you!!
Let me know if it works for you aswell ahaha
Any luck?
One thing I had to learn very quickly was the Variegation in the pink princess needs a lot of light in order to be vibrant.
Yes! I recently moved it to my growlight. hoping for more varigation
@@FelineJungle white led or colour? I am confused to which one should I use. I have both and at the moment i am using the purple/red one.
Inspiring indeed!
Don’t lose hope!
Hello Feline, sending you my regards i love your vloggs. I am here for you. Best regards
Thank you so much 🙂Best wishes to you too!
Wow!!! It's very great
So excited!! Finally 🙈💚
@@FelineJungle 😊😊😊
2 years after this and I recently found a PPP at my local Kroger grocery store for $30. It has some pink sprinkles but not much so I recently chopped it at the top by a node with a lot of pink striping. I wish I had seen your video a few weeks ago, I have it in water to root now.
I don’t have roots but the nodes are about a mm longer. (Yes, I check daily. Lol). I was so afraid I’d killed it. But hopefully I’ll get a pinker leaf soon. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
That's incredible.
Yes! Such a cool plant 💖
@@FelineJungle yes and the fact that it was slowing down and growing smaller leaves, and then you helped it and suddenly it popped out a big and very pink leaf! Good job!
Loving the drama! 🎭
haha stay tuned for the drama. Part 4 coming out this month~
So cool
Thanks! 😺😺
That cat is willing to help you hehehe very curious what you’re doing❤️.
He's my helper haha
I use rockwool for my philies and plants with air roots. If you ever want to come off a cutting my cat and I would greatly appreciate it. That's a mouse full, have a mice day!
First I saw the leaves getting damaged I feel a bit disappointed but later I seeing the pink leaves growth I’m smiling... it’s works....
Oh yay!! Patience is key. So glad it worked out for you!
So in love with the PPP! Just picked one up at a greenhouse for $35!!!!
What a steal! Glad prices are going down again.
Wow!! Amazing deal! I just got a very big, mature ppp but I was not so fortunate with the price. I got mine for $400, but it was marked $500 so I got 20% off during a 2 day sale at my local nursery. Regardless of cost, I feel she is totally worth the money and I am so happy with her!
Omg so glad I waited got one on Etsy for $25 with shipping
Your pink princess has so much attitude 😩😂
I love my variegated ppp . Got it for good price
Put her on a moss pole. The moss pole will act as an extension of your growing medium. Keep it damp and fertilize the pole as you would your plant. She will grow into the pole giving you a bigger healthier plant. She will draw in water and fertilizer from the pole as well as her "soil" roots.
Would this still work with a wooden pole. ?? Well like a stick type thing I have around the house frm taking my son's bed apart. Was thinking about trying to stake my ppp up tmre
Also, it's just a raw piece of wood, no stain or treatment or anything like that
@@ErinJoy-sh2qw no. with the moss the roots will grow into the moss pole, you fertilize the. moss pole along with the soil and the moss pole becomes an extension of your growing. medium. The wooden pole merely hold up your plant.. Small aerial roots will attach to the pole but not provide any additional nourishment for the plant.
thanks you for this video.. i have new idea for my ppp..🤭
How exciting! Love a good experiment!
Great video and beautiful plant!! I would chop it 🙈
If you do I would love to see a follow up :)
I definitely will chop it up. It’s just a matter of when 🙈💚keep you updated 😁
Feline Jungle awww can’t wait to see it!!!
Hillo my new friend good luck to ur pink princess
I think you over water, and keep your soil too wet. Put a pole in the pot and let it climb, get rid of the moss on top of the soil. I would repot and add orchid bark and leca balls to the soil mix. Once the aerial roots can climb the pole the leaves will become larger. Your plant has many green leaves, you don’t need to worry about more pink at this point.
YASSS I would litterly do the same. 🙌
Thanks for this video
Today I got PPP... ❤️ What soil mix to use please guide 😘
Awesome! Check out my soil mix short video!
Beautiful and informative video, thanks for sharing.
Glad you enjoyed it! Haha it's been a struggle for my pink princess. She seems to be happier now~
Mine looks quite the same as yours, super struggle no matter what I do.
Noemi's Plants Journal the princess is royal blood so harder to take care of 🤣💔
Beautiful leaf. Your persistence and patience paid off! Nice job.
I’m thinking I want to try this out my PPP and see what happens, I didn’t end up with the greatest cutting to begin with 😪 unrelated but where did you get that pink dress at the beginning?!
Is there a part 2 to this video??
I wonder if instead of putting sphagnum moss around the aerial root for moisture, putting a humidity dome over it would yield the same results?
It certainly will! Even a plastic bag will do it
I would leave it like it is. Wow
What a great video!💕🪴
Thank you!!
The music at 44 days 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
I bought a lovely PPP from a reputable store in NY from their website... (you know them!) I love it but the prettiest leave was damaged and I lost it. Well the next leave tried to come, but it was stuck inside the cataphylls. It was trying so hard to come out of the bottom for so long that there was actually another leave tip starting! Well i unstuck it last night. It's going to be beautiful!!! I just hope I didn't damage it. My burgundy also was stuck with 2 leaves! Does this happen a lot? Loved your video! Will have to try air layering!
Sticking is common in PPP. I find misting the stuck leaf with water helps it.
So I have seen tons of videos of people actually making a cut into their stems for air layering and I see you didn't do that. So that's not absolutely necessary to air layer? And I'm also looking at my own PPP and I'm only seeing minimal bumps AKA nodules up the stem so should I still go ahead and try to air layer? I can only see probably three different bump spots going up between each node. Maybe I should still give it a shot anyway?
Where did you get your dress from? :O
Could it initially be the soil?? I would've started it in just moss. I received on with 1 aerial root and it's in moss but your lucky to have more than 1 node. I only got 1 node 🙄 so I only have one shot.
wow one node is risky! I believe you can do it. You can start with whatever media your comfortable with.
How often do you take out the plastic wraps?
Usually the roots will poke out and the plastic wraps will get loose. But I only take them out whenever I want to.
Misting it is a bad thing I learned. It can block it from being able to photosynthesis
Can I use peat moss?
I think so as long as its medium that retains some moisture. But i think it would be harder to wrap around because the particles are smaller. let me know if you try it!
This spring, Home Depot had the pink princess for $20.00.
wow! what a deal! did they have alot of pink?!
I just got one for $20 at my local grocery store here in Canada about 4-5 months ago. There's a bit of pink but I deff want more. Thinking about putting a wooden pole thing in for it to climb up. Some ppl say cut it but I'm not ready for that. His video deff blew my mind tho when that all pink leave came out wooow 😍
Pls share that facebook seller! Or anyone that's bought online or known sellers! Lovely plant💞 Thanks for sharing!
I just searched for pink princess daily on the FB market. 😅 They're becoming more available and affordable in plant shops in New York. I saw them at Chelsea garden center, Nelly's Flower Shop, Da Hing Plants and Greenery Unlimited. Just to name a few! Hope it helps!
Good Job👍
Back ground music drowns out your voice tho
Plants, aesthetics, AND cats?!
*smashes that subscribe button*
Yaaassss. Glad to gather all the plants and cats lovers
That’s what I hate about spag hard to get it off the roots. I think you could have put the whole plant along with moist soil in a large ziplock bag to encourage more growth. But then what, no fun keeping a plant in a plastic bag. You could get this mini greenhouse from IKEA I think they still sell it! czcams.com/video/IDYHtEV3A28/video.html
Oh I saw that at IKEA! I should’ve got it because the last time I went they were sold out. I just got a glass dome. I’ll see if I can put it in tonight. 😀
Dis is really amazing dear tanks for sharing with us dis amazing plants hope you stop by on mine tanks
Thanks for visiting! Glad to meet another plant lover
was the total pink leaf chemically treated ?
Haha no it's not chemical treated. I think you're referring to the pink congo philodendron
Hello new plant friend here and I’m so going through this with my PPP seems like she has completely reverted and I’m definitely thinking about chopping her up 😳 I will definitely continue to watch your content and I hope you can come join me as well over on my channel I love making new plant friends. Thank you so much for sharing.💚🌿
From 730 to 8:00. It looked like you were wrapping up a cat.
OMG !!
The princess needs a poll to hang on..
Perhaps you should keep it in moss and observe for further development before propagate 😍😍😍
It’s still in moss right now 💚 definitely seeing if the new leaf has more pink before I do anything 🤞
Chop it!
Your plant put out a small leaf because you had just repotted it. You should let plants rest when you bring it home.
They touch the plant of your cat not good
Chop
Yesss...I did in part 2
Cut it out..
Planning to this week! the last two leaves were all green :(
and your sure this is a Pink Princess...
💯
Those plants are toxic to 🐱 cats
Yesssss super toxic!! Philodendrons are common house plants and also a very common part of tropical landscaping in the southern US. All parts of all types of philodendrons are toxic to most animals, including dogs, cats, horses, birds and even people.
Move that annoying cat!!!!🙄
