I'm addicted to these PPP update videos. Always curious to see how these unpredictable variegations turn out over time.
That pink princess is stunning! I've been loving your videos lately, you just have the BEST energy and I looove seeing you get excited about your plants, makes me feel so valid 'cause I absolutely do the same. Keep being you and creating awesome content
Rebecca you just made my day ☺️ haha I'm glad I have this outlet to share my excitement because my boyfriend just didn't understand 🤣🤣🤣 I'm glad we share this type of excitement with plants 💚
@@kevin. I assumed that your boyfriend shares the same interest as you too because of the sheer amount of plants in your apartment 🤣 He's so nice and understanding to let you keep 100+ plants in the house!
lol right!? my husband watches me caring for my plants in awe because he can't understand the excitement and why I look like a child when tending to them 🤣🤣🤣 he finds it amusing tho lmao
Thanks so much Kevin! You inspired me to prop my PPP that has been throwing out black cherry type leaves with no pink for a few months now. I bought it as a rescue last winter and it’s now healthy and happy but alas, no pretty variegation. Love the energy you bring to the channel!
do you let your PPP props callus over?? i really need to save mine right now and idk if i should leave them to callus or throw them in soon after cutting. i’ve never propagated a philodendron like this so i’m not sure what to do 😭
Oh you propagating a moustache ? Love it !!! Hahahahaah
HAHAHAHHAHAHHA
Omg are you being shady 😂💚
So fun as usual. Your PPP has gotten so huge! Can’t wait to see the plant drawer video, and house plant tour!
Gotta say I love your videos! When a new one shows up, your videos are the first ones I watch!! Great content, so funny and relaxing to watch! Love you just being yourself! Hope you hit the 10k mark soon! 🇨🇦
Yaaaaay i just subbed 💚 you're are 13k atm and you're so adorable!! I'm loving the vids 🪴
Super cool! I love these types of updates! I’m currently working on my second attempt at prop boxes and about a month in and documenting it! Great video!!💚🪴
Oh how exciting!! I personally love watching update videos toooo 😜
Plus, I love how you say “the mamA”, when referring to your mother plants! So cute! These regal bitches deserve the recognition!
OMGG YAAAS THE MAWMAAAAA they totally do! 💚🥰
Congratulations on the plant growth and channel growth! You have a very charming way of presenting useful planty information that I really appreciate. I’m happy that others are discovering your content.
Can’t wait to see the tour 😊
Aw thanks Sherry 🤩 omg I hope you enjoy it when it comes out!💚
Wow Kevin your plant so gorgeous so healthy, love it,watching here in the Philippines
Congratulations on the number of subscribers, I am so happy for you! I can't wait for the plant chores video, I'm interested in whatever you're doing since so many plants look healthy
Thank you Tina 💚 haha it's basically a lot of repotting so I think it's boring 🤣🤣 but hopefully you enjoy it ☺️
I love ur video update since the day u propagate ur pink princess, and other plants, and i love watching it, thank u so much
Love this whole look for you, Kevin!
As always, a great video. You never fail to make me feel like I've just spent time with a good friend ❤️
HOLLLYYYY 💚 thank you for always supporting me ☺️ I'm so happy you're not bored of my yet 🤣
@@kevin. Not even close, booboo 😘
Love the Pink Princess! One of my favs! ❤
OMG RIGHT?! equally frustrating 🤣
Yassss for prop. Cant wait!
Love the updates 🥰🥰 I feel so invested in your plants that when you post an update I click so fast lol. I’d say chop the pink Princess back to its most variegated leaf and you might get lucky again!!!
Haha oh yay I'm glad you like them 🥰 haha I'm getting split opinions about this but we'll see I guess 💚
Alright, I just came here from the last PPP update video, and after watching you cut the mother leaf off of the node I was like "Ok that's pretty sound logic, maybe I'll try that". Interesting to hear that this is not the prevailing theory at this point. Just goes to show that there are many "correct" ways to grow plants! Love the videos, keep it up.
Totally agree with your comments on the Siltepecana. I put mine on a shelf with a grow light thinking it would love it, and it hated it and looked awful!! 😆 I also had propagations in semi hydro which it also hated, haha. Soil and just put it on a random shelf and it seems to love life! 🤷♀️
Haha the definition of "thriving under neglect 🤣"
Thank you. So there is hope for my cuttings. Mine was the same as yours and I have cut them in several pieces and they slowly really veeery slowly show growth. I guess I need to learn patience 😅🙈
I swear your plants look so well bc you talk so much about them and in such dramatic ways!!!! They say talking to them or singing to them makes plants happy so it's gotta be doing something right:) your skeleton key is beautiful 😍
LOL they probably like my dramatics 🤣
New sub !
I love your PP I can’t believe how Big it got in one year I’m not chopping anymore lol
Just want to add to the pasta vs McDowell discussion: some pastazanums have a pink/red cataphyll because there's lots of variability within the species. I would personally look for these characteristics:
- round (pasta) & D-shaped petioles (McDowell)
- shiny (pasta) & more matte leaves (McDowell)
- more closed sinus where petiole joins the leaf (pasta) McDowell
McDowell
These are just some points I've gathered on pasta vs McDowell from credible sources online & in my personal experience because at one point I was obsessed with these two 🙈
Thank you so much Kelly 😊 this is SOOOOOO helpful. 💚
My opinion, the albo syngonium is really underrated for how fast it grows and how beautiful it is. Every leaf new suprise what it will do, and super easy rooter..
Omg definitely this! SOOOOOO true 😍
I read if you cut the greener leaves off above the node where the pink one was it will be more pink? I have also seem people propagate these by cutting them stem and wrapping it in plastic wrap! u till it roots. In any case, the plant looks amazing!
I have some big 3.5 PPP’s and they all reverted at a certain point to burgundy. But before they revert, their leaves just have flecks of pink kinda like the Thai con. Gotta keep it from getting to that point. So gotta prune it.
Omg I enjoyed this so much I’m scared to make the cut
Such a happy guy. I love your videos they always cheer me right up 🥰
Aw yay thanks Natalie ☺️💚 haha my plant collection is my happy place 🥰
Chop up the pink princess! Keep the pinkest leaf as a top cutting and cut the rest as single nodes, I’ve chopped mine and even pulled all the leaves off left with a wet stick prop and one of the nodes produce like tones of variegations like on every leaf in large patches it’s amazing plus you’ll end up with tones of PPP in the making🤍
Wow aww I'm so conflicted but thanks for sharing!! I think I may grow her a bit larger ☺️
I really like your channel! I'm new here, bumped into your Syngonium albo variegata propagation video as I was looking for tips on how to safely propagate mine and just LOVED your channel. You have such a good vibe and communicate so well your plant knowledge/journey that I feel good coming back for more :)
PS: the propagation is going well, thanks for sharing your tips!
same here❤️
That is so wonderful to hear that they're doing well!! 😍💚 Thank you so much for all those kind words 🥰 I really appreciate it
Hi Kevin! I’m new to plant life. Can you do a video on big plants and what you use to hold up the plant like the backbone. I’ve seen people use moss sticks and tape or rubber bands. What is considered safe for plants? Thanks 🪴🌺🍃
Sorry for all the posting but really I can not wait to see your plant tour!!! Seeing the 1st one of your I saw was what made me purchase a ppp and so many other beautiful greens. Especially your hoya and how you keep it pinned. I just love your ways. Thank you for being so different I'm sure you'll have 10k in no time
Haha thank you for allllll the comments and support. I read them all!! Haha I was so tired filming the houseplant tour and I hope it doesn't show 🤣💚
@@kevin. it's OK if it does. That is so much work. I would be sleeping in between chores ha ha ha your amazing tired or not
I’m so excited for you!!! 😂 I hope my props get as big as yours!
Thanks Elle! They totes will!! 💚Just give them all the proper care and time ☺️
Your videos are the best!!!!
Thanks Jane ☺️
Ang ganda kevin gusto ang mga halaman mo mga mamahalin pa salamat...gusto ko ang vlog mo dahil hindi mahirap intindihin ang English mo,,,🤣🥰🤣🥰🤣👍👍👍👋👋👋
I was recently given a Pink Princess and mine have minimal variegation as well 🙈 I also just recently propagated it to see if it will push leaves with more variegation 🙏🏼
do you let your PPP cuttings callus over? i have a thick stemmed PPP that has suffered root rot and i’m really trying to save it lol. i’ve never propagated a philodendron like this and from research i get mixed opinions.. so idk if i should let it callus or not lol
OMG your PPP is goals!!!
Wow so much growth in a year!!!💓
HAHA RIGHT I LOVE THEM
Beautiful plants
I Ben wanting a pink princess for so long it is on my top of my wish list
You should cut the top of pink princess and propagate, you know you wanted it! Love your beautiful plants! Thanks for sharing and happy growing 😀!
Haha!! I have a problem with propagating and I think I might pause because I'm running out of room too keep propagations 😬
Hi Kevin. What are the different between pond and Leica setup?
I got a bunch of cuttings of the siltepecana back in april and I was so excited, I love this plant. I was devastated when I found out the plant was covered in thrips and almost all of them died. I have 1 teeny tiny leaf left that survived the treatment/propagation. So sad but hey I still have one
Oh Ari I'm sorry to hear that! Thrips are the worst! But yes, I love that positive outlook. She'll be big in no time ☺️
I have a feeling the skeleton key responds to light. We are already getting shorter days with less light and it looks like the best leaves were put out around the time of peak summer solstice light. Maybe try to give her more? Just a theory but might be worth looking into.
Almost at 10 000 subscribers yes!!!!👍🏽🙌🏽🎉
OMG RIGHT 😭😭😭
Love your vibe
Oh aw thank youuuu 💚☺️
Another reason they move back from the light is to find a tree to attach to
Oh cute! Plants are so interesting ☺️💚
Do you think it would make a difference putting the skeleton key on to a (dry) moss pole/coco coir pole versus a stake like you used?
You couldn't do a boring video if you tried! Love you, precious 💕
Haha you're too kind Ann 😊 thank youuuu 💚
Wow syngonioum albo, how can have like that I love so much
What made you grow the sitepecana in soil? And why did you start using leca?
Just came across your videos and immediately subscribed. I make videos on houseplants and gardening here in Albuquerque New Mexico.
What do you plant snake plants in?
What soil mix are you using? I have a few plants that hate leca and pon.
Hello! I have a question: my PPP cuttings only have one set of nodes each and they’re all underwater. Also the stump doesn’t have any nodes above the soil anymore. Will they still produce new leaves?
Love this update video! I'm a new plant parent and gives me so much hope I can prop my plants to get many in the future!
Where do you get your coco coir planks?
Hey thanks! Yes you definitely have to be patient sometimes but it's so rewarding 😃 I made the coco coir plank and I kind of just made it up. 2 bamboo stakes, plastic netting on the back and coco coir roll on the front. All tied down with zipties 😬
Genius!!
Is the albo syngo the same plant as syngo fantasy...?
Noooo let the big ppp beeee! She's stunning 😍
HAHA ROOS 💚 haha I know right?! I've been keeping up with your propagations too 🤩
I love your videos
Beautiful I like the video
Kevin besides your funny I love you
Hi Kevin! Could you share your experience with converting plants from leca to soil someday? I did that a few days ago for the first time (still staring at it and crossing my fingers that the roots aren't rotting in soil..) and I just could not find much info on leca>soil on the internet and was super stressed about it. Very interested in hearing your tips and tricks if you have any!
Hi Julie! I do want to do this in the future but I feel like I've only started doing this recently and I'm experimenting myself. It's true there's not a lot of info about this 💚
@@kevin. Thanks for replying! absolutely. I appreciate how you're taking the time to really understand before sharing. Happy to know it's in your idea bucket
Yes pls propagate the pink princess!! Love your vids from france x
Haha thanks! I'm getting split responses right now
@@kevin. Its honestly gorgeous! And I wanted to tell you you're one of my favourite youtuber, you always spread happiness and I LOVE your channel :D You're the light we need when it's all dark
How do you get the leaves on a pink princess to grow bigger in size?! Mines are small :(
good tip on pulling the siltepecana away from lights. i’m rooting mine after root rot (oops 🙊) and i’m wonder why it’s taking forever!
Yeah I don't know if they're just sensitive to rooting but I had a few challenges with mine in the past 🤣
@@kevin. what a diva!
I AGREEE but we love herrr 😍💚
You need to start selling some of your cuttings so you can get another wishlist plant. Your plants are stunning!! Thanks for sharing.
LOL RIGHT. I'm just so attached to my babies 🤣
@@kevin. Yes, I understand. You need to do it. Sell and share. The mamma plants will always be with you. Your Pink Princess is worth 10,000 dollars. A cutting is worth 200.00 dollars. Yes, this is true. People will drop the coin in your bucket. Your plants are amazing.
Just notch the pink princess ;)
Do you recommend propping PPP in LECA or in spag moss?
That’s where I’m stuck at too lol 😆
My pink princess is not doing good I love yours so pretty I wish I could have one my was just a node and it is not doing good 😢
😍😍😍 you still cough, CUTE, thO! x
PLEASE help 😭 do you let your Philodendron Pink Princess (or any that grow like that) cuttings callus over?? you have such good luck with your props! i have a thick stemmed PPP that has suffered root rot right after i got it and i paid a lot of money (that i really can’t afford to lose) so i’m really trying to save it lol. most things say to let it callus for AWHILE but .. how is it supposed to drink like.. lmaoo i don’t know what to do.
Your 🪴 babies are beautiful ❤️
Aw thank youuuuu 💚💚💚
And the monstera Stanleyana
Omg, my ppp leaves are all wonky and small, she is in leca with the same nutrients.. help!!
Everyone has different conditions and even with some of the same products, each person will have a different experience. Also, the plant itself plays a role and not all plants are created equal! 😩 Wonky leaves can often times be humidity or light related, just keep trying until you get it just right ❤️
Great video. You’re just charming
I HEARD WINGARDIUM LEVIOSA MONSTERA
OH
Ola
And silcipuconu
Do not probate that pink princess. Let us see how she does as she matures. Great job!
Haha okay! I'm leaning towards keeping it the way it is ☺️ but you never know 😉
I vote do NOT cut your ppp!! Let it growww! Let’s see how big and pink she gets!
Okay deal I'll keep her the way it is
Shud I grow my pink princess in leca? 🤭

No don’t propagate the princess she is stunning love your videos
I WANT TO PROPAGATE WITH YOU BEFORE IT DIES
OKAY I WILL
I keep thinking the thing on the table behind you is a sandwich, ngl
Your ppp makes me sick - in a good way!
I cannot get my baby to grow. I have one NEARLY DEAD mother leaf, and a leaf that refuses to unfurl that has been there since …… well FOREVER! She will not grow! 😭😭
But on another note - I just recently grabbed a skeleton key and am looking forward to seeing a skeleton shape (even though it may take a year!). I’m going to train her upwards as per your tip!
Oh nooo! I wonder what's happening with her. Haha I've had a long love/hate relationship with my skeleton key 🤣 I hope you have more of a love relationship with yours
@@kevin. we all have plants with the love/hate dynamic going on! You staying focused on the positive sides of your key is admirable!
My love hate is with my PPP - she was my top wishlister, but has been nothing but a let down since I received her (she’s only a cutting) - but I’m keeping my hope alive. The unfurled leaf, has literally just been sitting there since June *blinks*.
Wait, no LECA DROP?!?! What’s wrong with you?!?!?! 😘
HAHA RIGHT WHO AM I. I was like..."something feels weird about this video..." And you're right, the absence of the Leca drops definitely ruined this video 😂😉💚
@@kevin. You’re Golden!
Think I might have to move my Albo Syngonium mother to soil. This last time I propagated her she dropped her one mature leaf. Thankfully, a new one was already on the way.
I feel like that would be a good idea! I mean they grow well in pretty much all mediums (in my experience) 😊
Noooo, don’t propagate her! She’s beautiful 🤩
