PLANTS: www.prettyingreen.com/collections/all-plants
I'd strongly discourage buying any indoor plant over 40$. Hunting a rare plant is much more exiting than shopping for it and you might be surprised how quickly you can get "rare" plants for cheap. We have small private growers you pretty much give out variegated plants for special occasions. Most of the time they are given by word of mouth. We have a small garden center owned by a family that sells you a medium prince of orange for 10 bucks and if you pick a "good" pot you can get a big plant including a small propagation that just comes along for free. There are older ladies that just give away their monsteras because they are glad someone takes proper care of them because they are getting way to big for them. The further you go from social media the more joy you will have finding something "rare" in a small greenery. And then your plants come with a story! you will be much happier for it.
People spend so much on them. I ordered my cutting for like 15$ it’s small but you can tell it’s gonna be pretty!
And now the pink princess philo is for sale at Trader Joe’s for $10.99
I own the largest Pink Princess I've ever seen, 5ft tall, leaves 14 inch wide x 17 inch long. And I won it in a raffle last year as a 3 footer.
The Pink Princess also has the most plantshamers LOL. Many complained about its very leggy growth and the very random with low pink variegation.
Bro, this new content that you're doing is just what the doctor ordered.
I still can’t get over that something as wholesome as houseplants gets this dark and complicated!!! I love the human element when it comes to creating new varieties and finding ways of taking better care of what already exists and conservation… it’s wild how far that pendulum swings in the other direction at times. Love learning about all these niche back stories! Maybe one day we’ll see a pink monstera 🤩
So interesting right!? I just saw a pink Musa! I think pink Monstera will come along at some point!
Oh god, I don't even want to know what a pink monstera will do to the market lol
@@ricky.888 Breaking Bad but with plants 😂😂😂 Heisenberg variegata 😂😂😂
@@ohemmygee216 Green yellow pink, whatever man just keep propagating that!
Let me tell you....I used to buy and sell cut up machine guns, and the plant world seems to have more shady characters. No joke.
Holy shit I’m new to plant collecting and didn’t expect plant collecting to have such dark lore
Just finished the video on the way to Home Depot. While there found a marble pink princess with a ton of variegation for $19.99
Yup walmart $20 but same day the plantery here had one for $80 I just home it's not a fluke
Ive rewatched your previous documentaries so many times
Waking up to this one LITERALLY made my day. Thank you!!!
Damn. This comment MAKES MY DAY 😭🤗😊😊😊 Appreciate you watching!!!
Notifications on for this one
Appreciate it 🙌
Another excellent video!! The music and editing makes it feel like I'm listening to a cold case detective, I swear at the end I'm half expecting you to tell me to contact the local authorities if I have any information of the whereabouts of the pink princess 😂
Pink Princess is a sport of philodendron "Royal Queen". It had erubescens and wendlandii and others in its background. Wendlandii was used to create more compact hybrids.
That makes total sense. Did it come from McColley?
@prettyingreen . Philodendron Royal Queen PP3396 is 1973 Robert McColley hybrid that is patent expired. I dont know what nursery Pink Princess originated at. I used to shop at Bamboo Nursery and did not see Pink Princess there.
@@floridahiker1503 That's SO awesome you shopped at Bamboo! I've heard that was the place to be for Rare Houseplants :)
I love this style of video, they're so informative and add context to high prices ect. Can't wait!
I wasn't aware that this plant existed. I love that you were in the middle of that drama too. I'm somewhat new to the plant thing. I love that I woke up to this video. This is well edited.
I figured if I just waited it out till the craze was over, i could finally get one at a decent price. I did, and it's a great plant!!! 🤗🌱💚
Just gotta say that costa farms provides box stores with very low variegated PPPs. I found one with very high variegation and she’s my pride and joy! Still feels like an amazing find because she’s just gorgeous!
I’ve had my pink princess for 30 years!! And taken many cuttings and love them. I live in Perth, west Australia.
That is AWESOME!!! That’s a while to have a PPP!!! 🤗
So excited for this! Really been loving this type of content would love to know more about the rare Anthuriums and see what’s lying behind those doors.
I wonder too! Don’t know a lot about anthuriums, but I bet there’s some dirt 😅
Another excellent video. I swear I remember growing up with this in the 80’s and it was a common. Like collecting baseball cards, never know when the coaster is going back up!
Great job!
Soo excited for this
loving the content lately easily shareable too, keep up the good work!
😍🙌 keep this energy comeing!!

Loving these documentary videos, getting a bit extra detail and history on these plants is great thanks!
I love these investigative report style videos!
Chris, your documentaries are wonderful and put many things into perspective. They also instill confidence in your subscribers and customers when making educated decisions for their plant purchases. Thank you once again!
I love this new style of content, I feel like you can make it about any plant and it would still be entertaining

Thank you!! 🙏 😄
Thanks for this very educational video. I'm so stunned by what goes on in the plant market!
I love your thriller movie style videos on ornamental plants. I am learning a lot watching your views. Learnt quickly the history of the Philodendron Pink Princess today.
Haha I’m so glad you enjoyed this one! I appreciate you watching 🙌
Very informative video, keep up the great work!
So informative!
Excellent! Bravo!
this is a very entertaining style of video, nice work
Another Amazing Video!!!
Appreciate it Shane!! Let's catch up soon!
Can’t wait till next week to see what the scammers were doing
Even before the start of video, I would like to point out that there are many videos online which shows that plant has lost its pink variegation. After several cuttings, plant lovers eventually toss it in a corner Or a bin. So I have decided that instead I will buy pink aglaonemas.
We go over the different versions of Pink Princess and varying variegations! Could be worth the watch 😊
Im so glad I stuck with Pink Fittonias they’re so low maintenance and have *more* pink
Oglesby had these by the tens of thousands in the mid 2000’s from tc. I remember getting overgrown 10” baskets for $8 wholesale. It was as literally everywhere and nobody cared
Hahahaa wow that’s incredible!!! Love Oglesby
🥰🌿🥰🌿 thank you
Love the history lesson on plants. It amazes me how much a lot of plants have dropped in price over the past year. The ppp will always be one of my favorites.
0:06 as I’m sitting beside my very own of this plant species. Had such a hard time finding any info regarding its origins - until you showed up in my feed, 🎉
3:25 Ben wayon. I paid 6$ at a franchised grocery store. Almost morbid knowing all this lol
🙌
Esperando ansioso!
😆😊🤗
fire vid
Thank you!! 😄
I have a pink princess and I hate it. The leaves get stuck almost every time. They grow wonky and the stem looks scraggly. Ugliest plant out of 150 plants I own.
Hahahahhaa I appreciate this honesty! The leaves ALWAYS get stuck😅
I just put water on my unfurling leaves with a q-tip, a few x a day and they're fine! 🤗💚🌱 Love my PPP, and my White knight💚
Ahhh the Pink Congo… Kelly already covered that extensively
Good informative 🎉
That Ph. youngii 'ilsemanii' on the list is just wow🤯
Ha! That 3yr old prediction post has me rolling. Just bought mine from "Costa Farms" at the local Walmart.. for $1! Really is a pretty plant though, I'd never actually heard of it til today.
A DOLLAR!!!!?!
My local grocery store has pink princess marble and they keep coming in. Thankfully, they’re good prices.
Love to hear this!
Just in time!!! I been thinking of getting a ppp
Yes!!! Try and get a marbled one 😄
New subscriber! 🎉
Appreciate you!!! :)
The Pink Princesses in the 1980s weren’t like the ones today. They were stronger, grew bigger.
And now in Poland after this boom we can buy the small one (not the baby size) for 20-40 PLN so around 5-10 dollars. (we don't get paid a lot so it's like a 20-40 dollars for us comparing our earning)
I got mine at Walmart and I've never in my life had to pay $25 for a plant I took the risk left it outside and forgot about it and it's growing just fine even stole some of her pups already
Why are some of the pink princesses dark (dark cherries)? Is that just the emergent leaf? Do any stay dark? (I always thought the pink princess was a scraggle monster, so I don't have one.)
Very interesting back story; some are only pink in name only.
I have 3 of them, and none of them have any pink on them. I had read once if they turn all green, the plant won't produce any pink leafs. I won't buy another one
Just picked mine up today it has 3 vines and was $26 at my local grocery store
There you go!! 😄
@@prettyingreen thank you! The only other “pink princess” I have seen locally had no pink and was priced at $200. This was about a month ago, at a fairly large nursery in the city.
❤❤❤❤
🤗
The pink princess marble/galaxy in my opinion, is much more attractive. Just found one full of color this weekend for 1998
I love the galaxy style var!!! So pretty
I just git 2 on clearance rack at lows lol
This is the way!
Got mine for $20 it keeps giving pink leaves and die 😢I prefer the heavily green leaves with little pink at least they stay I know I have to cut it
hello Black Cardinal History please
I'm so glad that this is a plant I will never want.
Recently at my local Trader Joe’s I found them for 10.99 USD
Incredible!!!
The color of really cool, but it doesn't make a ppp attractive. They look sickly
the way i got one for free just by trading my magnificum anthurium
Smart! 😄
✌️🫶☀️
crazy

😂 why the eyeroll from that redditer? Of they wanted had that plant from earlier they should be happy. If they wanna buy it now and the price is too high for them thats the problem, then why they want it now? Because they saw it on instagram as well? 🤔
Polonia Ula Z ŁODZI love Pink Prnces ok ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊Polonia ❤❤❤❤Polonia Ula ok.
I just got a cutting for free from my older sister lul
Amazing!!
PPP are easy to look after, and easy to propagate. I give 3 plants from my original for free and I have 4 in my house at the moment. All this hype is such a nonsense.
NPCs are so strange, so desperate for money they'll even scalp plants lmao
