I think it's ok to buy one of these light kits so you can use the lights from it with a Pro Scale light module. You will need to rewire the rear small lights connector yet it's easy and just requires a safety pin to remove the wires from the connector and switch them around.
Can you switch it on and off using the TQi radio? Also have you tested it underwater to see if it's truly water proof? Thanks. I'm torn between this light kit or the Mytrickrc one for my Blazer.
No, You cannot switch it in and off with the tqi. It would take some extra wiring and a splitter. I have had traxxas light kits fully submerged in water and have had no issue with them. Mytrickrc are awesome kits too and have more options.
@@BuyitBreakitFixit Thank you. I have one more question. I have a Hobbywing 1080 ESC which replaced my XL-5. Could I connector the JST connector from the Traxxas light kit in the pos/neg connectors that are on my ESC which normally are used to plug in the programming card?
@@LeftenantMalachi should be able to do that. I would research and find out what kind of voltage come out of that connector. You can buy connectors so you can tap into the battery for power.
Do the rock lights have to be installed with this kit? I dont really like the rock lights, if u didnt know better it would look like light leaking back into the body.

No, Traxxas light kits do not offer all that. Have to go with a Mytrickrc one for that. I just wanted the traxxas one for this body. Eventually I will try to find a hard body or custom paint one for more realism and then add the full in light kit.

I haven't seen the "USA-1" plate in ages. I guess, that was the GM version of Q1 or "Quality is Job One."

No they do not have to be installed, your option. When out at night, it is so hard to see where your tires are without the rock lights.
