- Hi Everyone - if you'd like some mirror you can get it here: culturehustle.com
Meanwhile - here's me having a little play with it on a variety of surfaces so you know what to expect when you paint with it on different materials. I show you how to paint the mirror / chrome paint on wood, metal, paper and plastic. Hope it's useful. Love Stuart x x x
"You can see the whole of Chicago in that~" HAHAHAHAHA
The context is killing me 😂😂
A sort of British London accent and "Chicago " is hilarious.
Literally!
I love that Stuart painted a bean and mentioned cloud gate, like yelling to the world that he can do a little version of cloud gate with the world's mirroriest mirror chrome paint, but Kapoor can't. I LOVED IT MAN
The shade is making me cry laugh.
i dont mean to be off topic but does someone know of a tool to get back into an instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me.
@Azariah Josiah instablaster ;)
@Roger Cash thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and Im in the hacking process now.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Roger Cash it worked and I finally got access to my account again. I'm so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my account :D
I can finally re-enact that unicorn blood drinking scene in Harry Potter. Thanks!
Please don't drink it! 😅
glug glug glug!
Make it the last item in your bucket list, 'cause you'll definitely die if you drink that
Yum :)
It even gives you a cursed half-life!
If you can't make your own magical curses at home chemical poisoning works to.
You can also use this paint to mildly inconvenience your enemies by sneaking into their home and replacing all of their steel cutlery with painted plastic cutlery.
@@ContentConfessional Thank you 😏
The only problem is it might be toxic. There is silvery plastic cutlery though, I bought some for a party before.
@@aquabluerose7734 I guess we'll only find out once we've tried it.. oops :p
@@aquabluerose7734 problem? They're my enemies.
Hello there Kevin McCallister
Stuart Semple has been trolling Anish Kapoor into being a better person for years now
But has Anish Kapoor become a better person as a result?
@@astrinymris9953 we can only hope
@@astrinymris9953 No, but that doesn't mean it's time to stop!
this subject is old and needs to be dropped long ago.

I mentioned a while back on facebook about making small bottles of the main paints (black, white, etc) for those of us who paint miniatures. This is exactly the size I meant! Pleeeeaaassseee release the main colors in a small bottle collection. I'd get it in a heartbeat. I just can't justify the full size bottles as I know they'd dry out by the time I'd be able to use them all.
as a fellow miniature painter I second the request.
yea mate, i look at a lot of doll customizing videos and i can imagine a lot of fun uses with this paint, like if you painted the dolls themselves or summin, cant really do that with the gel and chrome varnish technique or with mirror foil, which are the only other methods i can think of. a smol bottle could be the key ingredient for a whole concept
A set of miniatures would be great for artists and those that want to just try out many diff colors at the same time 😎👊💋
Especially the heavy metal set.
@PaleoClipper I'm about to start mini painting and gaming myself with Warhammer 40000. I would like to use some of Stuart's paints. What is your experience using the Stuart's paint on minis? Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.
I want to use so many of your paints on guitars
this stuff on a guitar would be so badass, even just as detail work
Works really well, but boy, you need to do the prep work and get eveything soooo smooth.
Absolutely lost my shit when I saw the jelly beans and I realized what was about to happen. XD I love this!!
I am confused can you explain pretty please 😂
@@DCwolf138 i want to know too.
@@TheLoveMiku its a sculpture apparently called cloud gate iys a mirror jelly bean
@@TheLoveMiku it's a jab at a famous feud between Stuart Semple (the guy in the video) and another artist called Anish Kapoor, who is the author of the famous Chicago sculpture that looks like a giant mirror bean
The paramount question here is whether those chromed surfaces are volatile or safe to handle afterwards without the risk of dulling the shine. Unless this product managed to overcome that problem, I don't see how it's any different from Molotow's Liquid Chrome line, which, for that reason, despite it's brilliant initial shine, is useless.
I don’t even care about this but I can’t stop watching because he seems so excited about it
You should have tried painting on the inside of the jar to see if you could achieve a real mirror finish.
@Smooth Move he already has black 3.0
Oh the hostility toward Kapoor is a gift! Keep up a good work!
Mine just arrived and it is very freaky. I repainted an old T-1000 "action figure" just to see what it does and..... well, if you're not marketing this directly to the table top miniature brigade then you're missing a trick. Extraordinary stuff.
When i get paid im getting this and black 3.0 and going nuts with my space marine.
@@quannd 3.0 doesn't appreciate being handled too much. If you're going to be touching the painted surfaces or letting the figure bang into others then it will need retouching quickly. 2.0 is more robust.
@@zippy8888uk Thanks for the heads up
How well does Mirror hold up when being handled?
@@hfklsd Pretty well in my limited experience. I painted a couple of rocks that get a lot of fondling and stroking whenever someone first sees them and they haven't needed retouching yet.
The two dislikes are from a certain Mr. Kapoor and one of his associates 😂
Oh, that’s gonna go onto some Imperial Knights carapace so smooth.
Necrons for sure
Chrome Necrons... With his glowing green. Oh fuck I'm excited.
I was thinking it would do well as the tights and claws on the forge world keeper of secrets
I'm about to do up the silent King in this.
The only question is mirror the king only, or the whole dais?
is this some warhammer 40k thing that im too poor to understand
Please make a rose gold one. Its impossible to find one that actually looks metallic also is there a good sealer that wont mess up the finish?
Could you apply a clear pink topcoat over the mirror?
U can add a clear layer of pink. Adding pink pigment may also work
@@pictureframe2104 has anyone tried adding pigment/LIT powder to this?
@@IPC1982 i doubt that would work. Maybe an alcohol ink would mix with it. Or a clear topcoat with a tint.
I wonder how putting on transparent paint on this could work. As most chrome colored products out there are primarily silver chrome covered in clear colored paint to make the chrome color look.
I think it is very important now, that you do the world's mirroriest pink!! I'm excited already!!
The shade 😂👌 can see all of Chicago in that bean!
When Googled: “The ball is filled with air and has a matte finish. The material of a regular ball isn't specified, but balls typically are made from celluloid or another plastic. The celluloid is a composition of nitrocellulose and camphor that is produced in a sheet and soaked in a hot alcohol solution until it is soft.”
ah ha okay thanks! interesting interesting x
@@StuartSempleArt the nitrocellulose burns up very fast when exposed to a flame. A dustbin full of ping pong balls will combust in a second leaving nothing behind as the combustion products are all gases. czcams.com/video/4xXyOKIDuko/video.html
@@ochoytnik Poking a small hole in the top, and filling them with lighter fluid is rather fun.
Question Stuart - would you ever film a PAINT WITH ME where you use the entire collection of your products? Also, that stuff looks like unicorn blood from the Harry Potter series.
Would you suggest PVA to ground a wooden panel (like the ones sold at art stores that look like canvases) for painting an image opposed to clear gesso?
oh we'd never hurt the unicorns! They are our friends. Yeah I'd say PVA every time but you could use clear gesso if you like x
Stuart thank you for the surface demos! This answers a lot of questions for me about how to best use it :) I'd love to see it over the blackest black on paper... I'll probably try it for myself to see how it works out!
Oh cool yeah let me know how you get on x
How was it? 🖤
My friend found the best synthetic soft brush for applying mirror is, I kid you not, a cheap makeup eyeshadow or blusher brush. Absolutely gorgeous.
I used a makeup brush as well! It worked so well.
"If you have a mask laying around" it's 2020, we all have 84 of them laying around lol
I've never used a mask with any solvent
Hehe! Cheers. from Toronto
Wrong mask. You'll need a respirator with proper filters to protect yourself from solvents.

So satisfying. I'm addicted
I love how excited he is while he's painting with it, and how honest he is about the way it works on textured/porous surfaces.
The creator of the bean is Anish Kapoor. He and Anish Kapoor are enemies

Very cool! Perfect mirror paint! 😯🤯 Love your personality
Thanks for testing on different surfaces. I use wood a lot and would never have thought to use pva glue first to seal it. Awesome!

I just ordered this and can't wait to try it. I've been using those chrome pens for my miniatures and while I love the finish I HATE the pens and how much they clog, but I didn't think there was any other option...UNTIL NOW.

You're a madman for this one Stuart!! Looks incredible. Can't believe I missed this somehow. I'm gonna love running this through my airbrush ;)
Bloody hell that stuff coats well. Thats lovely
I love the demonstration of the different materials so we can have realistic expectations. Also, good to know that even professionals get hairs in their paint 😅
Oooh just bought your mirror paint. Didn’t know you had a CZcams. Happy to find you 👍🏻
I cant wait for my order to arrive :) im gonna try it out in pour painting, painting a gundam, and a jelly bean.
oo i wonder how this would look on a model- I bet it will be really cool!
I literally am living for this. You are now my favorite artist. Your colors are perfect and the continuation of you VS Anish Kapoor is everything that is right in the world
Simply put... Stuart is a paint genius! This silver paint is the most reflective silver you can get short of polished nickel plating on metal. No other pigment/ paint/ brushed or aerosol comes close. Again, the smoother the surface, the better the effect.
I need my bean brush 😂
Thank you! So fun 🤩
Love the bean! Love you lol 💫💝💖
This is so petty, I LOVE it 👏😂
Love, love, love this stuff. Will get my 1st bottle Friday. Can’t wait.
Did you get it? What's your experience with it?
Nathan Quatlrini, yes I did! And it works just as described. I painted a small galvanised watering can for a yard art piece and it shines just like I needed it to. Thanks for asking.
@@rendaowe I just ordered some, trying to decide what to seal the wood with before applying the mirror.
Hey Nathan, in the video’s, Stewart used PVA GLUE to coat wood pieces and even paper with it. PVA GLUE IS POLY VINYL ACRYLIC, btw., you can get that anywhere real easy, you probably have some already if you are a crafter. Good luck 🤞 and always keep Art love strong. P.S. this video actually shows him using it and how well it works.
@@rendaowe I actually don't know what PVA glue is and if it goes on super smooth. I'm aiming to paint a couple hiking sticks with it but need a nice smooth finish.
Also does mirror chip/scratch/mark easily?
I already know he's gonna come out with mirror 2.0 and it'll be better then before
So pleased to find your channel. I come here from Cloe Rose. She tested your paint too. Looks like wonderful stuff!
Plan: We all buy a bottle and paint as many beans as we can. Then we ship them all to our friends in Chicago, who dump them all out until we have a pile of tiny beans to hide a certain someone's pretentiously named bean. Who's in?
Use dried cannellini beans instead! They'll be a lot more durable as well.
It’s insane how mirrored this paint is! It gives most airbrush paints a run for their money. I will definitely be pitting this paint against my personal fav Alclad chrome paint
I bought some and it is REALLY cool! Never thought I'd be painting with mirrors lol

@@kiukle hi there, I haven't used it yet, I will have to try it the weekend!! 👍🏻
I love this. The man's an artistic genius. Doesn't know what ping pong backs are made of. Best video on the internet.
This is astounding! I would like to use it on my automobile wiper's bracket linkage!
I want to see the inside surface of a smooth piece of glass painted with this stuff, using it as if you were silvering a real mirror. I think it would be great. How about creating a space blanket by painting one side of some transparent PET film? Great video. I wish CZcams was smart enough to recommend this to me. I've been searching for metalic paint for ages.
I love the sahde being thorwn so much XD. I really want to use this on my Gunpla models.
I'm a little late to the party, but I was really interested in this mirror paint! I don't live in a well-ventilated apartment though, and given I live with two cats that like to watch me paint I'm guessing this wouldn't be a great product to use. It looks amazing though!
I do use this to paint miniatures and it's one of my go to paints. I look for reasons to add it to minis. I even went back and touched up some older ones I thought would benefit from the extra shine like a clockwork dragon.
I loved using mirror SO much, I was up until 4am painting 😂
How to easily remember concave/convex....
You go INTO a cave, so conCAVE always goes in ;)
Has anyone tried this on polymer clay yet? I would be interested in the finish on clay jewelry
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!! BEAN! I love you Stuart!
i love the not so subtle references to Anish Kapoor
The one dislike was Kapoor i bet Hahahaha
Stuart proves you can be an incredible artist/pioneer and also be a good human bean. (see what i did there).
I have got to get some of this stuff
This product looks incredible, I have tried a lot of silvers when custom painting, generally best results when applied over black base, assume this is no different as best results on the dark dog...but this looks great when applied with brush! If I wore a mask I take it I could put this through an airbrush and clean with thinners ? Great vid
I was confused by the jellybeans, and it was when he referred to them as "the bean" a couple minutes in that I realized what was going on. Had to stop the video for a bit because I couldn't stop laughing for about five minutes.
Ahh, never change, Mr. Semple, you crafty little imp.
Thank GOD I got off heroin in time to be able to play with Stuart's products! And BTW, I'm not being an a**hole, I actually was a heroin addict for 12 years and, for obvious reasons, creating art was not something I did at that time. I've been clean for a few years now and I'm making up for lost time in my art journey!
I feel like a child who is watching a new toy being showcased. All the giddy feels and excitement
ping pong balls were made of celluloid until 2018, now they are plastic
the old ones burned interestingly, i can tell - and this is also the reason they changed the material
@Stuart Semple: Could you do a test with a laser pointer? I want to see the reflective capabilities of Mirror paint and if it's possible to bounce laserspointers off of it for a D&D project :)
Any tips for applying it to bone? I'm guessing similar to wood, seal with PVA glue, dry, then apply directly
God it's so damn beautiful isn't it 💖
Impressive
Also, brb, gotta paint my entire room with this, including the ceiling and the floor.
Sir Stuart, does mirror respond to high temperature after it dries any differently than your superbase, black 3.0, white 2.0/3.0 or, Titan, for instance, or a standard acrylic clear nail polish? I have read the very clear warnings you have provided, thank you, I was just wondering at bit further - some installations I envision might get very hot in the sun.
How might this hold up if applied to somewhat flexible surfaces like eva foam cosplay pieces or vinyl upholstery?
