100% agree, some great artists are not meant to produce a weekly chapter. You have to have certain genes to sustain 15 hour workdays every day. The author would do very well doing a 21 pages chapter every month but there is no magazine that does that.

I dig Xenoblade Chronicles. A lot. It's not quite open world, but it feels like it, and the way quests are designed is simple because some lengthier quest lines lead you to secret areas that you can't otherwise access, so the world is constantly opening up. The world itself being as condensed as it is really helps the traversal aspect, and you do have fast travel in the event that the walking gets too tedious. It's a singleplayer JRPG designed like an MMO, and I think that's cool.
Awesome video man, i was just wondering why ruri hasn't continued then i saw your video. Mangakas' go through a lot, which is why i make it a point to never blame the artist no matter how suspenseful a cliffhanger is ,but i do check on the status of the artist when I've waited for mths without any update. Keep up the vidoes

I liked the editing and the message but I have some problems with the video:
4:35 Every new manga in Weekly Shonen Jump gets the cover for their first chapter so ruri dragon is nothing special in that regard.
6:48 It has not been announced to be moving to jump plus , it is still in weekly shonen jumps table of contents but it is on hiatus.
4:46 Volume 1 was released a few months after the mangaka went on hiatus .
It is very unlikely that he took such a long hiatus because of working too much , he only released 2 chapters in a weekly format , it is more likely that he had a pre existing health condition.

Whether its pre-existing or not isn't the point. Grinding work can exacerbate pre-existing conditions, or introduce new ones. I'm pretty sure I even say we can't know whether this hiatus is directly because of the work on Ruri.

what i love bout ruri most is the art, its all mostly linework with little backgrounds. its neat so see a detailed and not detailed manga that looks neat in jump. i even bought volume 1 for reference material for my own manga stuff :3
i recomend watching Bakuman i think its a beutifull story about 2 teenagers who wana become magakas and turn their work into a anime, its a 10/10 for me, and it also shows how hard it can be the mangaka life

aw man. why did you had to talk about pun pun? that shit broke me and i didn't even finished. the end of a chapter (i think it was around chapter 70 or 80 where the chapter ends in "everything was just ok for another day" or something like that) hit way to close to home for me and id didn't touch it since then. i will soon continue it but god damn. why did you had to remind me of it :pepehands:

@@Frdyan lol i can't tell if you got got by a fake funimation account or you're on the third layer of irony. just in case you got got i'll explain: it's a popular meme online when you google "eiichiro oda" you get that picture of eiiji aonuma. even mother's basement fell for it. the only recent picture of oda was one that leaked during his vacation a while back so most youtubers just stick to old photos

I actually came here trying to see if anyone was here talking about a weird, underrated manga I really liked called "Ryushika Ryushika" and saw a part of what came up was Ruri Dragon apparently. :p
Sigh... I forgot all about that thing... I randomly saw it brought up by Hazel in a summary of what she was up to one year or something. :p Sigh... I didn't know it still had barely anything to it. :p It's kind of a cute, wacky little series. :? Not sure if there's been any cute dragon monster girl series quite like this surprisingly, and not exactly, like, well... whatever Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid is for their dragons, LOL. :p
Anyways, sigh... I have a lot of mixed feelings for the oddity and bleakness of Ounpun and Inio Asano's overall works, but man was that fanimation of it or whatever it was really freaking good, I just mainly came on here to comment on that other than my first two points, whoever that was did a good job. :p
I downloaded both of those animations a few months ago and couldn't find them again. They're on youtube somewhere
