In this video I react to Swedish comedy from Swedish comedy television show Roast på Berns featuring Swedish comedian Henrik Dorsin as he responds to a roast that he received.

Almost all singing H.Dorsin perform is written by himself. Genius
The "writes his jokes in Excel" roast hit so hard that he had to pause the song. I always rewind to hear it again. The person on the butt end of that joke is Robin Paulson, basically our equivalence to someone like Jimmy Fallon, which is why it landed so well. A completely harmless, by-the-book comedian. Literally summed up his entire comedy career in just five words. Brutal.
Can you explain it to a clueless person? I know explaining jokes kills them but I didnt understand

“Poesi för fiskar” is an amazing comedy/social commentary group and lots, if not all, of their videos are subtitled. Id love for you to react to some of them. “De Arbetslösa” or “vask duellen” for example.

This is funny if you understand Swedish, I am not so sure that the translation will do Henrik Dorsin justice, he is sooo good with words!

Henrik Dorsin is Sweden's best comedian at this point, he has very shrewd and quirky lyrics, they're brilliant! He got famous with Grotesco, which is really funny, but his later work is excellent, he's such a word-smith! Very clever lyrics and texts and he often has a point. His songs are so spot on and well performed, can definitely recommend more Dorsin!! (Happy Swedish National Day)
The ”Lady” in the roast ”Petra Mede” was also the host of this years Eurovision.
Of the last three times Sweden hosted, 2013,2016 and 2023.

Dorsin is by far the best of this Roast setup, not just the Roast but his Comedy is way better.
The Finnish roast- "Det enda som du är här är en Finne" (The only thing you are here is a Finn) is a play on words- "Finne" means a Finn, but it also means "pimple". It's a play on words.

One of Henrik Dorsin's idols is the great wordsmith Povel Ramel. He was way before his time with lyrics, I can strongly recommend Sukiyaki Syndrome (it is in English).

Your pronunciation of Swedish is generally impressive! One thing that's impossible to know in some cases though is where to put the emphasis on certain words. Henrik's last name is one. It's pronounced "Dorseen"😊

I might be good to know that the word for a Finnish person and Acne (the skin pimpels of your youth) is the same word in Swedish "Finne". Also a Finnish stick (Finsk pinne) is a almond flawoured biscuit.

Since 1982 they have collaborated in various productions. Many of us in Sweden have grow up with their fantastic comedy shows, and characteristic figures. They should definitely be highlighted..

I recall the episode containing the roast of Robert Gustafsson as being rather funny. Otherwise there were less funny guests, almost every member of "Killinggänget" (=The Killing Gang😁) and some more or less random Swedish celebrities.
Yes, sometimes it's less funny. I saw Roast på Berns with Cecilia Frode, it turned almost ugly. Sooo bad

Grotesco ä made a political satier of the handeling of the ”imegration chrisis” flyktingkatastrofen in 2015 that is excellent, it is a musical and many parts are on youtube

There is some cultural differences between the three big Swedish cities.
Johan Glans is too big for Sweden even if he is from the south.
Except for him... Malmö in the south has the rough, dark humour and the best female comedians.
The west and Gothenburg is lacking at the moment, but has a strong history with wordplay and language based humour.
Stockholm has the biggest scene but a hostile enviroment, where some comedians starts cancel campaigns against others. Being big in Stockholm is an easier way into TV.
When Björn Gustafsson defend himself on Roast på Berns is also very funny, but dont know if threre is one with english subtitle?
