This is my reaction to Robert Gustafsson - Berit på Skansen
In this video I react to legendary Swedish comedian Robert Gustafsson and his very funny stand up comedy sketch Berit på Skansen where he plays a middle age woman with some excellent jokes and brilliant acting.

That's Allsång På Skansen, an outdoor concert/Sing along event, that occurres once a week for the entire summer. Where artists from all over the country, to preform and later sing with people in the audience.
When this was broadcast on Swedish TV, my mother called me, she was 82, and she laughed so much that I didn't understand what she was saying. Nice memory!

11:41. Lasse Berghagen the man on the left sadly died on October 19th 2023. He hosted the show from 1994-2003.
I'm often bothered by mediocre subtitles and translations that ruins the jokes but; this video had great subtitles!
Skansen is an outdoor museum in Stockholm. Each summer there is a weekly live TV "sing-along-show" with popular artists.
Up on one of the few "mountains" in Stockholm.
The most iconic humor program in Sweden is called "Nile City" with Robert Gustafsson the shining star.
Robert Gustafsson is simply the best of swedish comedians and actors. No-one beats him when it comes to versitality. He has done it for so long too (Since the 90's, or perhaps late 80's?), and always better than everybody else.
Since the 80s(he was in skrotning & Björnes magasin) though he got famous in the 90s
The subtitling is great, it is not an easy thing to do for humour.
And the improvisation he make is astonishing.
And im a Swede by the way.
Robert Gustafsson is the Swedish equivalent to Rowan Atkinsson.

I watched the Swedish version of the musical Tootsie last year. Take a guess who played the main character!
Idk if you've ever seen a show called Try not to Laugh, where they lock a bunch of comedians into a house for ten hours and whoever laughs or smiles get tossed out. In the first season of the swedish version, Robert was in it
And you could just see the other comedians give up as soon as he walked in. They were like "oh so Robert's here? Well I am fkd"
Also to mention , when Johan Glans talked about moving to Stockholm that there was no real cows just city cows at Skansen, this is the park/zoo/museum he was talking about 😅
Allsången på Skansen started in 1935 and have been televised since 1979.
It's usually around 20.000 people in the audience each Tuesday, with the highest being 26.000. About 1 miljon - 1.2 million people are watching att home on the live broadcast each week, during the time of the summer it's on.
This take place during "Allsång på Skansen" Sing-a-long at Skansen. During the summer it takes place every tuesday(i might be wrong on the day) @ Skansen witch is a Zoo and Swedish culture open air museum in Stockholm.

He had a character in ads for the firm Manpower called (Nisse from Manpower) around the year 2000. Not often I enjoy watching ads but that was the exception. Not to mention his ads for beer from the late 90s. Where he buys cheap bad beer from the internet and filters through his sock and bread and then the ad says Spendrups original no additives that need to be filtered out.

Robert Gustavsson made a film "Screwed in Tallin. Havent you seen it you must 😂 I think he is playing 3 different persons in it. Roland, the bus driver and a drunk man. It is so funny 😂
The most funny comedians in Sweden, you probably never have seen..! Since their performances are not translated in to English. But it's a group of 4 men (five once) and they are called "Galenskaparna och After Shave". It's mostly not stand up comedy exactly but rather stage and film recorded comic. They are top ranked in Sweden !!
Another favourite character of Roberts, is Tant Lingon (Auntie Lingonberry).
A series of sketches where he play an old and slightly confused old lady, in one of them being a joke about how ignorantly racist some elders unfortunately can get.
Not sure if they have CCs though.

Mostly pretty good translations. Some of it is really hard to find a way to say in English.

I don't understand why you "stretch" the video content you're watching?
The movie "Torsk på Tallin" was a new landmark 1999 in Swedish comedy. Is "Torsk på Tallinn" (A trip to Tallinn Estonia to find a sex-partner) available with English subs ? A great movie where Robert Gustafsson really shines together with other brilliant Swedish comedians. This clip is about Robert`s pathetic nerdy character who is going to travel to Tallinn to find him self a girlfriend/wife. I think you should try to fix the aspect ratio distortion, the video you're reacting to looks stretched and weird.
It would just look more professional and be better for your audience to watch! 😀

@@factsy7042 Yes, the video was stretched and a bit weird when I watched as well but I know it can be so at times - don't know why. But it didn't matter - the audio was 👍
I think he can take some advice, he's Scottish they can take more harsh things than that.
When commenting youtubers distort the aspect ratio of the video they comment on it is usually to not get a copyright strike.
i dony know is there is any more video about Robert with english sub but If you can find it so are 2 figure he have make that are great 1 is call Greger Hawkwind how is a extrem homosexual man how try to get get a day with everman he see. And the other one is Bertil wich is actely inspire by a floriset that in live stream in Svt did hurt him self but did not pay so much tenasion to it. I can promiss you will love thous 2 char.

You still havent explored the new wave of comedy in sweden. more edgy, less physical.
Im 32 and I grew up on this but also grew somewhat out of it. Still love him. And his sketch Walling is my favorite still.
