yeah, i hope they're coming out with more skintones, but It's not like it takes a week to make an update for the sims.

The fact one if their contestants called out EA for their lack of skin tones, AND showed the CC pack she made to improve their game’s diversity, and they still haven’t acknowledged their lack if diversity speaks volumes.
You realise that the "they" you are talking about invited her to be there, edited the show to include her CC and repeatedly showed that side of her story? This IS them realising their mistake and giving it a platform. They will improve.

I’m surprised that they showed Xmiramira’s melanin pack. I thought EA would be ashamed to show that a CC creator has done more to include diverse skin tones then the company has. And frankly they should be ashamed to be outdone. They should buy the rights to the melanin pack off of xmiramira, because black women’s labour needs to be compensated. Then they should put the skin tones in their game for all users.
As someone who plays on console I feel I cant make the sims i want without using the same skin tones making all my sims the same.
Seriously, they should hire her. Me and my sisters waited a while for her pack before we played sims 4 when it first came out because we were so disappointed by tones

@@theekikimonique think that if mira is willing to sell it to have everyone have more skin tones than she should. All of the darker skin tones in the sims 4 are gray and aren't want most people's skin tone is.

I feel like if you're going to do this again next time you need to get rid of the team roles. Everyone of the participants are builders, storytellers and creators on their own way and having them layout just doesn't make sense for me.
I feel like the roles were necessary for everything not to be chaotic and all over the place. It wasn't there to strict them of their inputs but in a way lead the part where they are strongest at.
Maybe instead of getting rid of it outright, each team member randomly draws their role before each challenge
Yeah I agree no teams the reason Xmiramira (sorry if I spelled her name wrong) She had a problem with Dr. Gluon because they both had ideas like she is a storyteller too! Didn't you notice that they everybody played everybodys parts? In other teams I mean they took turns and did eachothers parts
That's not true for all Sims players. The English Simmer doesn't really build at all, just for one example. And someone who primarily builds might be at a huge disadvantage if they had to do the story part.

I would have liked it way better if this were more of a rupauls dragrace style of challenges. Like everyone is competing individually, but sometimes working in teams. And also I don't understand the differentation in stylist, builder and storyteller. I mean, everyone can have there strengths, but if would have been more fun if there were more specific challenges I think and everyone can shine somewhere
It would have been awesome too if they swapped roles for challenge just to be different.

Didn't the judges say that the one challenge was to create a vehicle out of unconventional items? It wasn't to create an unconventional vehicle. If that's what they actually meant, the judges should've been more clear. It seems each episode, the challenge requirements changes from what they're told before the challenge, and what the judges say the challenge was afterwards. It confused me!

I honestly didn’t think team llama was going to pull together their creativity strictly because Mira and Dr. G was so strong in their directions! I’m really surprised and happy that they found common grounds! That makes me so happy.
Tbf I think they’ve edited it to make it look like there’s drama. The sims community and they’re all friends, and the by the most unproblematic community on CZcams.

drgluon mentioned on his stream yesterday just how edited it was. he said the producers actually even told him they framed the conflict so that it seemed like "the team turned around in the end!" just like you viewed it. ugh. crazy how the editing works. he said take any 6 hour creative collaboration with a team and you can edit it enough to make it seem everyone hates each other's ideas
Can you do a series with all singular people, or 2 teams and 1 player goes home each week until there are a few left, then it’s a free for all

I think there's a lot to be said for those of us who grew up finding solace in the sims because we were introverted and bullied. and I don't really think I gave it much consideration before, but the sims and this community really were there for me at a time when I didn't really have anyone else. full on started sobbing during this video lol.

The fun thing is that the things they say in between are after the show that means when they are speaking of being nervous and all they already know who won. I try figuring it out by the expression but sometimes they really act well
Both teams have flourished from the beginning of Spark'd and as it was a split decision, either team would have deserved the win equally. The stories executed were full of creativity and expression. - It was a phenomenal series and I cannot wait for more. Looking forward to S2, and congratulations Team Llama!
Idk how they gonna split that money into 3 equally or by contribution for example 100k=40k+30k+30k. If thats the case Xmiramira deserve to have 40k, shes the one brought out the group from being an underdog

Honestly I wasn't loving the show until these last two episodes. The final episode actually had me crying. I really hope they do a season 2 soon.

At this point, it just shows how shameless EA is. They literally showed xMiraMira's Melanin CC pack and let her talk about it, but still can't do anything to fix the crappy in game skintones! So rood!
Unlike most people I wanted Team Llama to win, and they did! At the beginning I thought they wouldn't. I felt bad for xMiraMira cuz she can't use CC, I would die. I just hope next season Clare Siobhan and Lilsimsie are in.

I felt for sure that when the judges said it came down to which one had a greater emotional impact that they were going to choose the other team... 😢. Don't get me wrong, both teams did a fantastic job, I just don't agree with the final decision.
Same, I think Team Llama did a great job when it came to the production of their video, the one that hit me harder emotionally (and what it looks like in the video also the judges) was Team Cowplant. I'm not even mad Team Llama won, but the reasoning felt off and lead me to the wrong conclusion as well :)
It's almost like different things resonate more with different people...
I agree, all throughout it seemed like they were going to win purely because of xmiramira, and don't get me wrong I love her and everything she's done, but it really was focused on her story and her story was made to overshadow everyone else's which didn't seem right

Personally,I wouldve gone for team cowplant because I literally cried during their video presentation. But congrats team Llama tho,couldve been more relatable but I mean... So yeah I just wish that KAYLA LILSIMSIE would join the season 2 would really love it if she would.
I'm sure there are some who relate to team Llama as well. Their story was great, but I did relate more to Team Cowplant's story :)

Llama who start off a little trouble but you can see the skill not just story or editing.. but telling story.. they don't just used that last challege to judge since it not clear enough but if you look all the teammate.. they just better... and they don't work well with each other...
If there's a season 2, would love to see people compete on an individual basis instead of teams. Then, have challenges that highlight all aspects of the game and bring people out of their comfort zones. Examples: a build challenge with a specific theme or base game only, a CAS challenge where they are assigned a real life model and try to make the sim look almost exactly like them, or a story challenge where they have to draw words from a hat and work those elements into it.
Just a thought. Also, LONGER TIME LIMITS. Have maybe one challenge that is based on speed.
I feel like a lot of sims players are introverts who need the support and inclusion of a couple of other team members to support them in facing the world, but only a couple teammates or they'd get overwhelmed by their team.
I'm glad they gave XMiraMira the credit she deserves for her skintone pack. And congrats to Team Llama for winning! You guys did good~
This episode brought me to tears thinking about why I play the Sims...
I played it on and off since I was 14 and but I didn't completely get into it after I had been sexually assaulted. After that, I lost all of my friends, my job, and started failing my college classes and I was contemplating suicide. When I finally was getting treatment I was simultaneously playing the sims and seeing a virtual version of myself in a happier and more successful place is what gave me that little glimmer of hope to keep going.
It sounds overdramatic to say a video game saved my life, but it really did.
Anyways, I'm crying at both stories love them both
Both teams did great but I’m surprised they went with team Llama only because theirs seemed a bit more cheesy and not nearly as creative as team Cowplant’s story. I think Cowplant executed the challenge better and that’s what it should have come down to, IMO.

Érica Team Llama actually incorporated all of their stories into one person’s, they even explained so when presenting and a bit before that.

A ‘Real estate’ pack:
Lots of new build items including the massive windows (like you can make an entire wall of glass), separate headboards from beds, much more kitchen counters (we do miss these), corner couches, painted ceilings, round rooms/staircases andddd bunkbeds!
An architect career where you can build houses, a broker career so you could sell the houses: this way buying houses in the sims become much more realistic! You can also fix up houses and sell them for more money for a living!
I mean wouldn’t that be the dream for u builders🥺

People would look down upon the sims or even girls who play any video games. And i am so happy that I found people now as an adult that understood why i loved the sims since all of us (the girls i know that play the sims) were "in the closet" about playing the sims. ❤
I'm really happy that you feel more accepted now, I personally have never had to deal with that, since playing the Sims is really common and most of my friends when I was younger played video games, but it never feels great to feel left out or weird. I'm glad you found people that share your interest in video games :)

After the last episode when I found out she had a melanin pack I downloaded it so quick because I really wanted a sim to look like me but literally I hated most of the darker base game colors because it makes them look so grayish and sickly

This is the first time I didn't. Every other episode was all Spark'd ads, but this time I didn't have any, and most were Geico ads.
I was moved most by Cowplant personally, I really felt it emotionally as I can relate to it more💗(haven’t seen who’s won yet btw)
the presentation of the story was stronger for llama but the look on Xmiramira's face when they said they had to go with their heart and what moved them the most. I feel like that was just PC everyone is a winner we don't want to nit pick at something so personal statement and they gave Llama the win for stronger technical skills. I do personally think that cowplants choice to use all three voices and stories equally and have it transistion so well was ambitious and amazing and spoke so highly of the teamwork that took. But for clean editing and highlighting the game- Llama's use of simlish and again just overall editing was marketable.

COmpletely respect the creativity and how quickly you all adjusted to the format and created great stories through the whole thing. My 9 yr old has been watching with me and seeing the sparkle in her eye that I had as a child for the possibilities of having a safe place to create and dream and ...serious love for the entire community. Both videos brought tears to my eyes and I am glad this show was created.

Team cowplant definitely should have won for so many reasons, no.1 their story was executed so much better with the writing, no.2 I felt like team llama almost made fun of bullying because of how dr. Gluon narrated it and how they wrote it to almost be "funny" idk, it just felt insensitive and I kind of felt offended because i have been bullied and it is NOT a funny matter, no.3 cowplant's editing with the voices merging was INSANE, no.4 team llama's story felt heavily that it only told xmiramira's experience and not really the other's stories, no.5 cowplant told ALL 3 stories in one like the freaking challenge asked for!!?!?! And no.6, based on the builds, cowplants was so much better, dr Ashley made an office, a bedroom and a pride stage, whilst simlicy literally made a VERY generic looking bedroom and a classroom I am a TERRIBLE builder but no offence, I could build that - all of my kids rooms look like that!
Agree on all your points, I also thought that they should've included all of their stories better, especially the "girls don't play video games" theme felt weird, considering DrGluon probably never heard that and wasn't represented well in the story. I'm also not a big fan of xmiramiras and DrGluon Voice acting, it seems out of place all the time imo. I loved their video last week though, that was really good!
I love how Cowplant seamlessly included all of their stories and I loved the decision to only have narration and no dialogue.

Totally agree. The video presentation of team cowplant gave me goosebumps. It turned out very cohesive, the writing was very good, and message was clearly conveyed.

Unfortunately as with most shows it is mostly in after editing I watch a couple of them in live streams on twitch just the conversations after the episodes were several hours long and they edited it down to 5 minutes...... Imagine how much were actually missing........

Honestly surprised they went with Team Llama... I mean, yes, bullying is a universal thing that everyone goes through.. but its so cliche. I really feel like Team Cowplant was more creative in the way they told their story.

Yeap i feel they also incorporated all three of the stories. With the first team I felt ot was mostly about the one woman and the other two just stood there a little saying they related with the story too, but i didnt see and felt it. According to the logic of the jury, i find it odd that they didnt have anything to say about that. Especially Dave who is always critical and even finds something totally invalid to comment on just for the drama.
I think they just wanted the underdog to win

I agree! I loved both but Llama's was more specific to gamers, while Cowplant's was more applicable to anyone and more powerful. The express vs suppress was such a good theme and relatable to everyone. I feel like Llama won bc they had the actual Sims game in their video 😔

I would have chosen Cow plants for the simple reason that I deal with the two voices everyday and it is really painful. Cause its not physical its mental its no like its a person telling you you're not good enough so you can just avoid that person, instead it's you, yourself, you can't run away from it so you have to gather enough will power to fight thru the pain. It is the most challenging task a human could do. Frankly, I didn't finish fighting but I will keep fighting to be my self because just seeing that video makes me think that in the end of all the fighting I will come out victorious and happy. But I do have to say Llama did deserve their win for the awesome performance and I did relate a lot with people telling you who you should be and not who you want to be. Congratulations to both of you!!!

Big props to the video editors, I can imagine it's a lot of pressure to have 3 stressed out people around you trying to tell you how to edit. I really hope that if they do this again they give people more time and focus more on fun/creativity rather than the competition/cash prize.

Team cowplant’s story made me cry, I really relate to it and it was beautifully done.
Mira is very awesome at what she does sucks it took them almost being eliminated for them to finally let mira do what shes good at.
OMG yes!! This is everything I kept repeating to myself throughout the whole competition. If they let mira lead the whole time, they would be the top dogs for sure. Without a doubt.
I swear that's all I was thinking I 100% agree !! Mira literally is awesome at story telling, styles, and building but I love their final teamwork they compromised and Team Llama Took a well deserve win🥳

Wow, this really had me crying. I didn't realize just how important The Sims was in allowing me to truly express myself without judgment from others. It makes perfect sense that the finalists all had very similar stories. The Sims is for everyone, but it seems to really appeal to those who might choose (or want to choose) less "typical" paths in life. Brava to The Sims team and all of these wonderful creators. I can't believe this show exists. I can't believe it made me feel the way it did. Here's to hopefully more seasons!!!
I agree! However I think there were a few flaws with this first season which I hope they’ll address in potential seasons such as: how it seemed to be more about giving a good presentation and public speech than about creativity necessarily, the judging and challenges-how they would phrase a challenge and when it came to judging it the challenge would be different, how they put people into boxes with certain categories-stylist/builder/storyteller, how they didn’t truly get to shine individually as well as within a team. In saying that, I’m actually really happy they made a show about this too!

Omg so happy for the underdog Team Llama to win!! Although I could relate with Team Cowplant's story more especially with Doctor Ashley's part, the way the story was made by Team Llama and the production value really shone through, while Team Cowplant, there's something lacking in there like how their character's issue in the story got resolved-- it just magically disappeared by just making a decision. It would be more neck-to-neck if they added a bit of struggle in there with the 2 sides and how they fought and how one side won instead of magically poofed-- really have to follow the traditional story structure or else it's gonna be like an ad (I don't mean to diss on Team Cowplant, just referring to the story structure here, that's why Team Llama deserves the win :D).
Watching this competition reminds me of my Creative Writing class back in uni where our prof constantly asked "so where's the story here?", and screamed "there is no story!" XD

These 6 people are incredible! Both stories made me cry! Cowplant was creative and heartfelt; I just ugly sobbed at Llama’s story though. Very well deserved! They were underdogs and I rooted for them the rest of the way. Happy they won!

Depends what you're looking for. A lot of emotions thrown at something isn't the same as a good narrative story. Both can be good & different & people can like different things. Maybe also the others were not comfortable sharing their stories in a public format, not everyone feels the need to do that.

I felt like this was my favourite episode, they focused on the show and story instead of drama and both teams did amazing!

I feel like that was probably just really unfortunate editing. Most likely they asked him how he was represented and that's the answer he gave. There's a lot of weird editing in this show.

Team llama was carried by xmiramira, and partially simlicy. The story was only about xmiramira and the others saying they agree, yet the losing team (team cowplant) was more relatable, diverse and all inclusive!? How did they loose...? Besides, congrats to team llama, I hope they use xmiramiras skin pack as a base game update for all players include console because we need that.

I'm not shocked that team Llama won, and I will tell you why though in order to do so I'm going to repeat myself from the last episode sort of, these last few episodes sort of reminded me of a season of the Great Food Truck Race. In that season there was a Hawaiian food truck, once the season got past the 3/4 mark you heard the following from them every episode.
"This is a great city, lots of Hawaiians here," (this included non pacific coast areas)
plus on more than one occasion the trucks just happened to roll in to town during an Hawaiian Culture festival. Once it was clear that truck was in it for the long haul I felt the producers pretty much paved their way to win, I barely got through that season and haven't watched the show since.
How that applies here: Once Team Llama reached a certain point the producers wanted them to win, so they started making challenges towards their strengths, I mean of course they couldn't blatantly do it but for example "Hey, Team Llama has a Twitch streamer for a story teller while team Cowplant has a (and yes, even their original was one of these) CZcamsr, let's do a storytelling challenge where you need to tell a story on the fly,". I think pretty much everybody who watches the season semi finale knew who was going to win that one. This in turn gave Team Chosen, I'm sorry (not really) Llama an advantage that just couldn't be countered going in to the championship challenge. They weren't kidding when they said 6 hours isn't much time, I tried to do the Sparkd challenge to get in to Season 2, it took me two weeks, nearly 12 hours and I still didn't get the story challenge finished in time.

I’m kinda mad, because in general team Cowplant was the best, and when it came down to a split decision I really believe they should have looked at the bigger picture. And I’m much a fan of youtubesimmers on both sides, so it has nothing to do with who I wanted to win.

I've felt >:( about the previous episodes specifically because of how badly they made everyone seem...but this one kind of redeemed that. Letting them all tell their stories - I fucking *love* that. There was absolutely nothing negative about this episode at all and that's *exactly* how I want the sims community to be represented. Good job with this episode.
I agree. The episode had me not wanting to watch. They portrayed the Sims community as negative people and that is untrue. I think they were trying to turn it into a Big Brother or something but Plumbella proved them wrong when she gave the other teams good worlds. The Sims community is a great one and we need to be represented as so.

In my heart, I believe that Team Cowplant won this. Team Llama story was great, but Team Cowplant's story was much more relatable, and I connected with their story more. It brought me to tears because their story is also my story where people would not let me express myself, I lost friends for being different and not being part of the norm, and it is in the Sims that I found my confidence and my love for creativity. Congrats to Team Llama, but Team Cowplant won this challenge for me, hands down.

I was very skeptical of this show at first. But it really proved itself. Although I don’t necessarily agree with all of the judges’ decisions, I think it would be really hard to judge a competition like this that’s so personal. Props to them for taking on that challenge as well!
Since the get go, I knew team (Spoiler) would win. The truth is they should have been eliminated a long time ago. But they moved forward and were given time to grow. I feel it is quite unfair, tbh, because they were all over the place. The best team should have been the one consistently bringing the results, but they judged to be the one with such an uneven record that any step forward seemed like a big thing. But yeah, predictable, after the best team was eliminated for what the judges considered to be a slightly underwhelming performance., their excellence being the one thing that killed them, because it made the judges expect more of them.

Yeah, I think a point-based system would have been a better measure of overall team strength and make the winners more convincing. I feel like Team (Redacted) was consistently dragged down by one of their members (or maybe I just couldn't gel with their style) and it just didn't sit right with me that they kept getting through to the next round when the initially strong team had to leave so easily.

This is literally the first time I've ever gotten emotionally invested in a reality tv competition. I cried when the winners were revealed- I've never even sniffled at a competition show, but apparently, I just needed something with story and art and Sims!
I was rooting for team gnome, even tho I wasn't fan at the start 😣
yeah, i was rooting for plumbella, but once she was gone, i was all in on simlicy. i think plumbella should have won on character alone, she's brilliant. but simlicy is the best builder i've ever seen. i downloaded her save file a few months ago and every build is so amazing and detailed. i'm glad she got some deserved recognition.

When Spark'd was announced I had my doubts about it but the teams really made it unique and special. Both teams did a great job with showing their personal stories that resonate with all of us (I didn't think this show will make me cry). Congratulations on the win team Llama! That final project that they put out was really awesome.. I started crying when they did bc as a female gamer who doesn't play 'shooting' or action games I get judged for spending hours on sims bc it's " Not a real game" So thank you for telling that story.

Personally liked team cowplant's last story better (being lgbt & asian myself, that kinda environment where you have to be a certain way is really relatable), but team llama's supernatural story from the past episodes is still the most exciting works from this series. Both did really well in terms of storytelling and how well made the last videos are.

Why am I crying for the Sims? lol. The line in Team Cowplant's story about sometimes you're told you're too much or not enough... had me emotional. I would imagine that resonates with a lot of people.
Team Cowplant’s story really spoke to me! When I was watching them present it I couldn’t stop myself from crying. I really relate to trying to express yourself because I’m still figuring out who I am and how to show myself. I’ve always felt so alone and like I need to stand out, so people notice me, so people see me. That story just got me so emotional! Team Cowplant did a really great job and so did Team Lama.
