@@iheartvampires5258 console playeds don't have that advantage. for a game that costs 700$ and more for a slither of content they better add more diversity. capatalizm makes me wanna cry lmfao.
I'm a writer and like to make Sim versions of my characters, and I'd get SO UPSET because I'd try to make one of my darker-skinned characters and couldn't do it properly because all the basegame skintones were too light or the wrong tint (too grey, too red etc.) for that particular person. I haven't checked out Ebonix, but I probably should (even though there's a better range now, some of the skintones glitch out when you customize them and it's super frustrating).
this is so important. The Sims base game does not have nearly diverse enough features for anyone that isn’t white, hopefully this is a reality check for them.
To be real, it isn't diverse for all the people. I have never seen anyone with a realistic sim, but thats the thing EA likes to do, because your game gets more diverse with every add-on you buy.
The Sims 4 base game wasn’t even diverse for people who are white 😭

They actually just recently expanded their skin tones :) they now separate by warm, cool, and neutral tones, and each section has dozens of options ranging from light to dark with different undertones. It’s awesome

Yah like I use both kind cc but mostly alpha
But if your on PS4 you get not get it
cc creators are amazing and a blessing for the community but i genuinely wish we didnt depend on cc creators to have proper diversity... EA has to step up their game
They should hire cc creators!!! Best idea yet.
The Sims recently did! They announced it on Instagram
Supposedly they hired 21 cc creators for the Sims 4 21st anniversary.
They need to do more of what they did today, for sure. I’d love to see this become a regular thing! If they continued to add CC into the base game, a lot of these holes in the game could be fixed, and content creators can be compensated for their incredible work.
@@cassynedelisky796 They did NOT “hire” the creators, but partnered with them. If they go and actually get hired by EA then they have to follow EA’s strict and uncreative rules and we’d get none of the great content we get when they work for themselves.
@@depressantdrug Great now we gave to pay £15 for a lack lustered pack!
I don't know why they couldn't apply the different colour sliders to hair, eyes, and clothes while they were making skin tones. I need sims 3 CAS in sims 4. Also, we need more hair colour shades.
Right? It's the simplest programming solution. The answer is lack of representation; even just highlight overlays would remove the facial flatness, but EA would have to LISTEN to their female developers.
Because they wanted it to run better on lower end specs. Which was too big a sacrifice. They shouldve just done the sliders and made it more hard to run, especially given that PC specs get better every year for cheaper. The more colors or instances of colors you load in the laggier it gets. Thats one of the reasons why TS3 runs so poorly even today on good systems.
It’s because of the systematic racism of the white elite! They forced EA to do this!
I’m fine with no sliders for clothes or objects, as that would be a huge overhaul and would really affect how well the game runs and the specs and stuff, but they absolutely need to do it for hair colors.
Thankfully, there's cc for that too.

The point is not to make Sims look realistic in a sense but it is to make it known that in order to have different skin tones, hair textures, and etc for Black people we have to resort to getting CC. When we should have the same amount of diversity as other races in the base game 🤷🏾.

Follow the money, honey.
This is not about people getting the most from base game because that's all they can afford... The Sims is basically an open source game that sells what was once innovation is pieces and parts. The fact that the Sims 2 had SO much gameplay and lore in the base.... When they figured out they could parcel each piece of what made the game great in $40 parts, that is exactly what they did. & Then CC creators are left to fill in the gaps, which on the one hand allows people to have choices in what their game ultimately looks like (color schemes through reshades, alpha VS maxis match, etc)... But any & all of these options will cost you.
They have not made any forward progression in terms of the actual GAME QUALITY, since Sims 2. More like lateral moves, as a player who did Sims 1, 2 & 4. I skipped Sims 3 because I was so unimpressed with how it compared to TS2. They also keep trying to push Sims as a multiplayer game, and I've literally never heard any simmer actually say they want that. This is an introvert's game, and if they make random people's Sims show up as townies in my fucking game I promise I will skip TS5 just like TS3 & Sims Online.

There are so many cultures tho! How would they go about doing that? The content creator collab with EA is a step in that direction, but with various nationalities how could they do that? They may get monolithic and hire one person to represent a group? And we don't want that, but it's also less costly.

I really liked EbonixSims' makeovers. You can tell she really considered each piece of custom content she used, and I loved their reactions.
I'm replying to a lot of the comments of seen so far!
Of course, EA isn't racist! That's not the point of the video!
People play the sims 4 for different reasons but many people wont to play themselves in funny moments being an astronaut in space or having a pet racon, so obviously, people would really want to recreate themselves. For black people, it's harder to create sims that they feel represent themselves. Of course, this video is about black people specifically and getting their voices heard but this is also a problem for different people as well! A lot of the Sims 4 presets are really European and American characteristics and people would like to see Asian people, African American People, Middle Eastern people, and I'm sure people would be really happy with the different cultural dress too! People saying they wish they were represented more in somethings isn't calling that something racist they are just pointing on something that they think should be improved!
And thank you have a good day!
I haven't played Sims in quite a while, but when I last opened it, it didn't have a lot of variety or realistic options for anyone really. The custom Sims in this video look absolutely amazing and represent the ladies really well, but without custom content even I can't make a Sim look like me. And I am white. They just never had many nose shapes and especially hair colours. Did that change?
I obviously imply that Sims just aren't realistic or representative and that that applies to basically everyone, but what I find very noticeable in this video is that there infact isn't any fitting makeup for black Sims. The makeup looks bad in general, but it's also way too light for darker skin tones.
So in conclusion I wonder if the problem with the Sims is mostly about race or just partly about race and partly about being just unrealistic.
@@geschmacklos_ I think that it is unrealistic in a way because it's a cartoon game but they could also definitely work on adding new facial features for everyone! The point of the makeup sliders was to help people with darker skin tones and they tried but for a lot of the darker skin tones, it still doesn't work. I'm a person of color (biracial) and I don't find it too hard to make sims like me but I definitely recognize the lack of representation of facial features, hair, and makeup in the sims. I think that there is definitely an ongoing want for better skin tones and makeups, which we just got, and better hair colors and features which we are still waiting on. It would be really cool to get an update with just more features textured hairstyles and hair colors and more representation which is what a lot of people want but I don't think EA is planning on that anytime soon!
ea isn't racist but the sims developers have some racist tendencies towards literally every race 🤣 it's like 4 out of touch people who have the most say too. but they're getting better
Sims 5 will have like three options for skin color. They are going to make an add on pack with your suggestion of all the different races and skin tones, hair, and eyes. Get more money at of us chumps. I can see it now.

It’s funny that a lot of comments assumed the women were calling EA racist which isn’t correct at all. I see a lot of gamers of all races talk about how the mods are so much better that what SIMS provide. This goes from creating sims to homes and other things. If the video had a mixed group of people I don’t think the comments would have gone in the direction that they have.
Well I also commented that I as a white woman experienced the same issue, and it seems that a lot of the people here didn’t like that. So in their opinion, it’s acceptable for all races except white I guess. A lot of people do want to make it a race thing.
@@Emily10210 Yeah Idk why they won't recognize it as a EA problem. EA doesn't wanna give us anything if it's not hidden behind a paywall.

They had a range of skin tones from very light to very dark, I’m sorry if you only considered a certain number of them to be black. But there are also white people, Asian people, Indian people, Hispanic people, etc. and they all need skin tones too. And same thing for hair, they needed hair for short or long, straight, curly, or Afro texture, and there needed to be a variety. So there was. It’s about all people not just one race, so it can’t just be a variety of only Afro textured styles either. In my original comment I stated that I have super long hair, past my bottom. And some people have it the same way I do for religious reasons. Did they have hair like that? No. But I also didn’t try to say they were discriminating because they weren’t, it’s just not as common and it’s a video game so they had to include a few select styles for all types of people.

@@phataskitty5740 Omg I literally love The Sims 2 for the Nintendo DS! Such an interesting take on a Sims game.
When I was 6 (26 now) my cousin built me my first sims house on sims 1. Hooked ever since LOL
The way I Sat Up when they brought up their sim hair style thing, I nearly
Great video !! I’m glad you are addressing the issue with the skin tone pack that EA is offering but on the other hand they are reaching out and trying to add more options to be used for everyone. Makes me want to load Sims on my new laptop and try again !! Will be saving this video for reference when building my character !! Thanks for making this video !!
I'm not black but I am brown and something that has always upset me is the limited options for people of color. And its even harder because I play on playstation and have no access to cc. EA really needs to change this stuff.
I play on a laptop but idk how to get custom things do custom things cost money?
@@Mini-wd7qz I don't think so I think there are websites you can go to to get it. Hope that helps🥰
I mean, the Sims 4 presets are lacking period. There are basically only 4 different types of noses, all in different widths. I have a long, pointy nose and never have been able to make it using the dragging option. But then again, I usually don't have the desire to make myself, so it's not an issue for me.
Such a queen! I loved how she highlighted a bunch of other creators!!! Will add them to my cc collection!!
Ebonix is one of my all-time favourite creators! This is awesome 😍
cc creators really carrying the sims on their backs 😫
I just started playing the SIMS and CC creators make gameplay so much better.
Oh my goodness !! I love what EA is doing for the Sims Profile settings !! Real settings for everyone !! Phenomenal. Still a little more tweaking needed here and there but all in all moving in the right direction !! Bravo 👏🏽 👏🏽 👏🏽. Great video !! Keep up the good content !!
‘I mean... let’s ask the audience’ 💀
This is sooooo true, cc creators are what make the game fun playing. Shout out to all of the cc creators who share their content with us and put in the time and effort to do so, you👏🏽 guys 👏🏽rock 👏🏽❤️
Thank you so much for showcasing this shortcoming in the Sims 4 and I hope EA is taking SERIOUS notes for Sims 5 because the community has had enough. Ebonix is one of my all time favorite cc creators and has brought so much diversity and realism to my game through her beautiful work. I can't wait to check out some of the other cc creators she showcased in the makeovers!
cc creators are literally the reason why I still enjoy playing the sims
First of all, this cc creator is so talented, I have some of the CC she created. I love having diversity in my game and the work of cc creators gives me this opportunity.
I just recently found out about custom content and man is it game-changing. I loved EbonixSim's point about some of the more usable textured hairstyles being a part of the expansion packs and not base game. EA has come a long way but it has certainly taken a long time. They could definitely benefit from the input of black CC creators.
I am literally shook. So incredibly beautiful. She did such a great job.
Omg I didn’t know Ebonix was British
LOVE EbonixSims! it's great she is getting reorganize she is honestly top tier, I have a bunch of her cc's and use them on the daily, her hairs she makes is just so damn beautiful and sims needs to take note.
Imagine the power of a game fully created by CC creators
That would be amazing! Imagine the diversity and inclusion. They could call it the realisims ❤❤
I freaking LOVE Ebonix and her CC sooo much. So much attention to detail and care and love have gone into her content and it shows. CC creators need to be appreciated more.
This was an awesome video. The ladies did a great job on their sim selves. Ebonics took it to a whole nother level. I love her hair styles for the sims.
So wonderful to see this highlighted! I hope EA continues to consult with CC creators to make base game content more inclusive.
THIS VIDEO NEEDS MORE VIEWS! It’s so important
Share it!!! ❤️❤️❤️
I’ve been playing TS since TS1. I was too young, but had the cane anyway. And CC creators (the modders mentioned) are a big reason why I have continued to play for so long. Great video!
The one girl when she talks: 💅🏾👋🏾🤚🏾👈🏾💅🏾🤟🏾👌🏾👆🏾🤞🏾💅🏾 *is me when I get my nails done*
Soo, I'm a longtime Sims player. Like as I was born in the 80s and was a teenager when The Sims came out (yesss with the big clunky box, old school desktop, and CD. Let me tell you when those new CD versions came out I was in front of the line at the electronic counter). The Sims 3 was my favorite for yearsss b/c it was really the beginning of this high tech playing you see in the Sims 4 now. I have always, and I mean ALWAYS made a female black sim that looked as close to me as possible (with changed clothes, hair, houses, families, etc) and used mods mostly for better decor. It never occurred to me that I could have a sim look so much more like what I see in the mirror in the years I've played this game. The content creation happening now is next level, and I hope that in the future it will be a normal part of the base game to have all kinds of facial features, hairstyles, and makeup, like in this video. Kudos to the modders making way for inclusion for everyone!
The CC Creator is AMAZING!!! I have a personal aversion to getting CC myself, they cross your sims way too far into the uncanny valley for my comfort.
Look for maxis match custom content. Those ones follow the sims style instead of being too realistic
Thank you for doing this video. It reinforced just how bad this experience has been.
That cc is great. The sims look gorgeous after their makeovers.
*Cries in Console*
OMG SAME! 😭
the poly count on those cc hairs must be astronomical lol but the sims came out pretty cute
Can this become a series? Of all sorts of people making their Sim and then someone else recreating it or customizing it, I just feel like this is so satisfying and I wish there was more.
what an amazing improvement that was- really highlights how limited sims without mods is...
the end results literally look nothing like them LMAOOO
LMFAOOO FRR
People who play the sims with no CC are braver souls than me lol.
For real😭 I'd rather not play at all than play without mods, I just love realism way more than....the sim style🧍🏻♂️
It’s too hard to download 🤷🏽♀️
all these women are absolutely beautiful! i love ebonix sm for her cc
Shout out to Ebonix.. she really changed the game for us👏🏾👏🏾
Yes, we love to see it! I also made myself in the sims and it's just so much easier to make using mods, because of the game's limitations!
i dont think they know but now there are sliders for makeup and skin for you to get a color for your skin or makeup that you want
This is amazing thank you daniella for all u do and many more cc creators 😭💖
I hope we can see more black cc creators like some maxis ones someday (crypticsims, (and i would say savvysweet but yeah😭) and many more others)💖✨🥺
CC creators are so talented. I never used cc until sims 4 because I was afraid of downloading from different sites and I prefer maxis match cc. But there is so many incredible options out there now.
I have to say some are not using all the capabilities of the sims 4 face shaping, you wont get yourself if you keep in the box.
Also base noses are not very diverse but thats because its the base for you to create your own nose, the detail interface and the normal closeup bring so much shaping to the table, you can easily get a real persons nose
I think she made beautiful sims but I don’t think they really look like the models?
She didn't alter any facial features, she just added cc makeup, skin and hair. Its not her fault they don't have the same facial features, she didn't make the faces.
@@insertlaughter also she uses some alpha cc face masks too. If there’s anything you should know about those is that they alter the face of the original sim so much, you’ll be shocked after you took it off. I think that’s why it looks so different from the models too despite them trying to make themselves at first
Ebonix was the first modder I found and put her stuff in my game. She is my favorite. Thanks so much for putting out great content and allowing me to make people who look like me and my family.
I LOVE EBONIX SIMS
Can we talk about how a lot of the textured hair came from the island pack
Wow...these creators are so talented. They brought the sims to life.
Omg howwww does she make her CAS look like that? 🥺 like, the layout? It’s so neat.
There is a mod for more columns. You can have 3, 4, or 5. Just google sims 4 more cas columns mod and it should come up. But be careful because some computers can't handle it very well
@@KitschyandWitchy i have this issue with the mod where for most of the items the thumbnail doesnt show and it goes down in diagonals instead of in the rows and its hella annoying do you know how to fix that?
@@jayvader9023 unfortunately no. I've never heard of that issue. Maybe you have an out of date version? Game updates can mess mods up and the mod needs to be updated after
Omg such beautiful CC!!
imo EA NEEDS to work w POC creators to make better CC assets. they’ve started working w creators for official items already, so please do another one!! not that hard bro
