Another reason why you would want to remove and/or replace the condenser is because you want to replace the accumulator (drier/receiver). In our case the dryer unit is welded to the existing aftermarket condenser, so replacement for both is necessary. There are many pieces to the puzzle of equipment that is the car air conditioner, but one vital component of your vehicle’s cool air system is the air-conditioning condenser. A/C condenser is a radiator positioned between the car’s grille and the radiator for the motor. In the condenser, the gaseous refrigerant sheds heat and returns to a liquid state.
If the leak becomes serious enough, a pool of oil can form underneath the vehicle. Choosing not to replace a bad air conditioning condenser can cause the A/C system to stop working. This is because the correct amount of refrigerant isn't reaching the compressor, which has a pressure sensor
    Background Info:
Nafis bought his Honda Insight 3 years ago. The AC in his car only lasted about a day. He brought the car to the mechanic who told him (without testing) that the car has a leak, need a new compressor and a host of other parts and it would cost him over $1,000. Nafis didn't want to do it for financial reasons, but this year the summer is extremely hot and he asked Aiman's dad to help him diagnose and fix the faulty air conditioning. Fixing, removing and replacing components in most vehicles is fairly easy but diagnosing the problems and issues is the hardest part. The most important thing in any diagnostic is to find or trace to the real root cause because otherwise even if the issue is fix, the same problem could develop later. So in Nafis's case, Aiman's dad agreed to help but his unorthodox approach would involve replacing one part or component at a time to eliminate potential source instead of diagnosing and replacing the faulty part(s). You can read more about this in our first / intro video below, and you can watch our progress and we discover by clicking on the various videos below:
