- The Xiaomi M365 (geni.us/MiM365?track=yt) is an amazingly capable entry-level scooter that does everything well -- and better than any other scooter within a couple hundred dollars. It is easy to recommend the M365 at its current $350 to $400 price tag.
This review will cover portability, durability, ride quality, build quality, drop tests and trunk tests, safety, customer service, overall pros/cons, and who this scooter is for.

It is not king it hurts my leg so much on bumpy roads.
You probably dont give a damn but does any of you know a trick to get back into an instagram account..?
I somehow lost the account password. I appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Sylas Houston instablaster =)
@Aden Sylas Thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out atm.
Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Aden Sylas It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy:D
Thank you so much, you saved my ass :D
M365 owner for 3 years ... the best thing about the scooter is... the huge amount of accessories you can get to mod it .. my best mod is the OLED display , i also added the bigger rear disc from the M365 Pro and added a new caliper, i swapped the red cable for Black cable, swapped out the handle grips from round to flat, swapped the silver bell for a black bell , added a rear fender support, swapped out the controller...and by the way , my tires go forever , rarely punctures because i line the tires with old inner tube, added various rechargeable front and rear lights... in summary....best tech i have ever bought.
amazing review. How many miles on it?
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide to date :2875 km .
I have 2 years with my 365 and 1300 Kms. Only i had to replace the rear wheel for a solid one and no more blowouts. Now i buy a Widewheel PRO for hill climbing but the 365 it's my favorite.
One of the earlier adopters. One of my friend's got one 3 years a go too. He's always trying new gadgets and he recommended it to me. However I held off and kept cycling /driving. I just got a pro 2 now while he's now on a ninebot max. Definitely great items for a city
g30 max is better
You are the Mr. Rogers of the scooter underworld
Haha, that's the dream -- just need a few more sweaters.
Your awesome!! Thank you for all the info, I learned alot from this video!!
Had the scooter for 1.5 years. Upgraded the battery using the Y-method by the Rollerplausch community - installed another 7.8Ah battery for $60 including the charger and shipping. It's super easy to do, it's very cheap - I spent a total of $80 for the battery, the charger, the bicycle bag for the battery, the cables, the XT30 connectors, the 20A car battery fuse and the soldering components (watch Rollerplausch channel's M365 Y-method tutorial video to see how to put it all together) by buying everything off Aliexpress and I managed to solder the Y-cable with no prior soldering skills whatsoever.
I basically got myself a 36V 15.5Ah battery - I could easily stay at the top speed of 27km/h without thinking about running out of juice too fast, which has drastically changed my whole experience with M365. Almost every scooter in Moscow, Russia is an M365 because it's obviously considered to be the best city scooter. I managed to travel 40kms with the stock battery and I still had 20% left.
To this day and 2200kms later nothing major broke, even despite water getting onto the drive board once - I was only getting some flat tires every 600kms that I fixed with rubber patches before I got a slime tire sealant for $7 (you need 30ml or 1.2oz for each M365 tire, no syringe is needed if you have a syringe-like plastic cap that you cut at the top) and a broken rear flap, which you should totally reinforce before yours breaks too.
What's more, that Y-method also makes it possible for you to make other mods for the M365, ranging from an onboard USB charger, a 12V car socket or maybe even a 110/220V AC pure sine wave inverter for charging phones and stuff, if you feel especially masochistic. You can become the coolest scooter owner in the city by modding the heck out of your M365 and putting another motor in the back for the FWD 2.4kW experience (czcams.com/video/2J3vytIJ18c/video.html) and installing multiple 60V batteries on top of that - (czcams.com/video/59vl7deHOrg/video.html). You can even-
@@resp86 The fuse is optional, it's only an additional safety feature. You will know where to put the battery when you watch the tutorial.
Very informative review. Kudos!
Nice review, I like the additions to your reviews (trunk test, drop test- with anxiety reaction 🤣). As always I like seeing your review of pros, cons, comparisons, and who it IS for and who it is NOT for! Great job again Chuck and Team!
Thanks Gfunk - we're always trying to make more valuable reviews. Good to know you like the new additions - we'll keep doing them.
You sold it to me totally! Xiomi should pay you for this lovely review of yours!
Perfect review, very detailed.
Great review, thank you for your work in making it, we bought 2 of the new Xiaomi Mi 1S (new model) scooters for the kids after your review helped us decide, they seem to be perfect for them to use, Thanks again , keep up the awesome work ! best regards from Scotland
What a great review! Definitely the best one I've come across on youtube! Well done from london :)🇬🇧✌
For it's price the M365 uses the best materials for the frame build and the welding is top notch. With so many mods you can have a great E-scooter with 30 -40 miles range with an extra battery.
Hello Chuck. I would recommend Contact Cement over super glue which isn’t so super for glueing anything but skin. Surgeons use it instead of sutures it works so well. Great review as always. Can’t wait for my ZERO 9 which I got a text for yesterday and it will be here on Monday 24th! Also anyone on here into E-Bikes as well. Any MATE X people here?? Also MAJOR Shout Out to Rev Rides!
Hey Phillip - thanks for the tip.
Hey Philip. Had my Zero 9 for one year and love it. The power is awesome, hill climb is easy and dual braking makes it safe. Fast, Powerful and fun to ride. Also have Zero 8 which is fine but Zero 9 is a big step up from the 8
@@markevans3848 what is your opinion on the Zero 10?
@@Hydropanic1 I've only taken the Zero 10 for a test drive and it's a beast with higher top speed and range than the 9. The manufacturer claims top speed of 75Kms per hour but never had a chance to verify that. If I didn't already have my Zero 8 and 9 then I'd buy the 10 in a heartbeat. If you can afford it.... buy it.
@@markevans3848 Hey, thanks for the comment! Will plan to buy it soon, so I cannot wait until summer comes again!
Great review 👍
Excellent review!
Very good review. If you have to ride in traffic the most important accessory IMO is a rear view mirror.
Great review chuck
Thanks David!
Where else can I buy the scooter? The link takes me to amazon Mexico u.u it doesn’t ship to the US
I just got a hover 1 scooter for 300$ and it goes 15mph for top speed and 16 miles in a single charge on eco mode do u think u can review it
I just got my m365. I'm really liking it for my first electric scooter. Eventually I think I'll upgrade to a zero 9. Thanks for the review!
Mandrew Clock ; Great choice! My ZERO 9 will be arriving on Monday. I can’t wait!
Same mine had different brand name but pretty mutch same scooter same distance working on getting a zero 10 later on for the prize its not that bad
Awesome - what do you think of the M365 so far?
Its been good waiting for warm weather to use it more right now it rainy but will get a zero10 for longer distance and go faster
@John Cyn bullshits it's an amazing scooter.
Your ride shows the agility of the 365 also important for safely swerving around opening car doors and doing it safely. Even on my kickscooter ; which I do biennial servicing, I ride it hard and still have to navigate bus shelters and pedestrians too. This agility on the 365 is important to me.Thank you so much
hi love your vids , does anyone know if the m365 in link on Amazon come with LG cells? thanks
Mine did. Has a sticker on the side stating it.
Kick to start is safe. When you're not on the scooter properly and the wheels are being powered, it tends to wheel spin... Kick to start ensures you're on it generally
Good video, very informative, hate to e background music.
Haha but thanks
Nice Berkeley Marina shoot location!
What brand is the helmet you're wearing in this video?
If you on a hill, go the opposite direction just to make it start, then turn back ...
I got a broken one of these, needed a few bits doing so i made it a project. Its now 8" longer, so i could put my rebuilt hub motor on the back. Im using a 60A dual ESC for an electric skateboard so its 2WD. So far ive had 28MPH. So good for projects

I have an exact copy of this scooter ,the only difference is the steering stem ,which is welded to the connecting joint of the footplate. As a matter of fact even the internal board is the same. The difference on the generic one is it's much faster, quicker off the mark. It comes with it's own software with all the same features. Oh and the generic one goes further. It also comes with a two year warranty. China is a country where copyright doesn't exist, they copy other countries and of course their own manufactured products. That said ,not all copies are equal.
I've had one of these for a year, my Nanrobot D6+ comes in the mail tomorrow. Should be a bit of an upgrage...
Segway Ninebot is the best! That's why I'm ambassador for it in the Netherlands! :)
Even if its illegal, LOL
When will Xiaomi 1S (successor) come to USA?
@ 10:01 very nice info you said there. 👍
Glad it was helpful! -Vosk
How much do you weight that you get so good range and acceleration times?
Rider weight is 165 lbs and scooter is in top speed mode with lowest regeneration.
i have the xiaomi m365 pro for about 3 years now with close to 4,000 miles on it and i have to say its a very good scooter for its class! only a couple of small things to address here and there like a rear fender mount ( the new models got them on), maybe a better aftermarket folding clamp ( cuz it brakes over time if you ride the scooter hand and fold it and unfold it all the time). basically that's it. i only had 3 flats total with it over the 3 years, changed both fenders cuz they broke, the throttle and fixed the folding mechanism 2 times. all that cuz i abused it a little tho lol now days i am more careful! :) the great thing about it is that the part are very cheap and you can find everything ( even the frame! lol) and everywhere, also stores that will fix your scoot if you dont wanna do it your self plus you can go crazy with the accessories! all around its a great entry level scooter i think for almost everyone!
Thanks for the feedback
Have you already tested the Xiaomi 365 Pro 2? It is even better I heard. Let us know when you test it. Thanks!!!
Hey nice video, you said you’ve seen a lot of smaller people carry this up a flight a stairs 🤣
Your purchase link isn't working
M365 is the Model T of the scooter world .. I have the pro version and can't complain
In Germany, the Xiaomi M365 must not be driven in public areas. Since the scooter drives faster than 20 km / h, has no second brake lever, no reflectors (white in the front, red in the back and yellow on the side) and the lights do not meet German standards. You also need an insurance license plate. Xiaomi has announced a German version that will hopefully be released in spring.
Had my m365 pro about a week and got a punture already. Decided to spend 40 quid on 2 new honeycomb hard tyres and got Halfords to fit them (40 quid for that too). To confirm, no loss in speed like i kept reading elsewhere. Happy days!
How's the comfort?
Is this or the pro version any good for food delivery jobs?
Both versions are good, but if you're really going to use it heavily for delivery jobs (food delivery, I assume?), You should definitely buy another 36V battery, preferably from 6Ah to 12Ah and double the capacity of the scooter using the Y-method. Search "M365 Y-method" on CZcams.
How does the ride on the Xiomi with pneumatic tires compare to the E-TWOW with suspension and solid tires? I'm giving serious consideration to the E-TWOWob, but am concerned about the ride with solid tires.
I cannot speak from experience with Xiomi scooters, but the company makes a fantastic robot vacuum at a low price point (Roborock), so apparently, they know how to do cheap products well.
Etwow makes great products, but very different from the M365. If you have a lot of rain to ride through, I'd recommend going with pneumatic tires so you don't slip as much. We recently reviewed on of the etwow models: czcams.com/video/m1G-X6Gaqok/video.html
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide Care to comment on ride of Xiomi vs E-TWOW?
I'd personally prefer 8.5" pneumatic with no suspension over 7.5" solid with suspension. Very small objects like pebbles will be felt less on the m365, but larger obstacles are felt less with the suspension.
I have the Etwow GT and the ride is decent on good to average roads. It's a great scooter and I would recommend this brand because the quality is top-par and I have not experienced any technical failures after one year. However, if you plan to consistently ride on rough roads, then you should probably choose something with pneumatic tires. However, you should also be aware of the availability to order replacement pneumatic tires as well as the "how-to" to install them. I've heard that it can be difficult to install a replacement pneumatic tire.
You should manually set your focus for portrait shots. I noticed there was a lot of refocusing in the video.
5 years later, I still have mine. Still going strong, love this thing.
That’s awesome!
I got this for 200 bucks last scooter in general electronics store in denmark 👍, not ridden it much but man it's fun and a convenient way to get around.
In a general electronics store? I'm afraid it's a low quality rip-off. The cheapest you could get the legit M365 is from Aliexpress directly from the from the wholesale shop for about €280.

Wish I saw this before I got my ES2. But it's good as I'm on dedicated bike paths 95% of my commute.
you are not alone. A lot of us wish we would have bought either this or something even better
Why haven’t solid inner tubes become a thing? Better traction and no flats. Am I missing something that’s a down side? And available parts or upgrades is a big deal, I’ve got “Real scooters” scooter that’s got a flat and trying to find replacement tubes is sucking.
IDK
Robert P Well the traction would be covered by the tire over the solid tube. You’d still have the ride being rougher for sure. I’d make the switch. Bumpy ride but no flats and regular tire style traction, sounds like a great balance to me.
If you hild the in button down it would show a full display with the speed and everything
My avao pro scooter will do 19 mph gets me back and to work and my dog walk and so far have done 150 miles and still going well
Has this been rebranded as Hiboy on Amazon? If so what model?

I'm really interested in this type of a scooter for cost and ease of storage. My concern is the stability. Most of my two wheel experience is on bicycles and street motorcycles. I've ridden a no name scooter and did fine, I'm just concerned about getting dumped on potholes ECT..am I overthinking this? Thanks

is the ninebot max better then the m365 range? it seems like that’s the case.
Hi Megan, yes the Max got 28.1 miles of range vs the 14.6 of the M365. You can see all of our testing here: electric-scooter.guide/comparisons/electric-scooter-performance-tests/
Electric Scooter Guide how do they compare in terms of durability etc? i’ve read that the m365 range has white a few common problems etc - on top of getting flats, apparently they’re a pain to replace
Ninebot max beats the m365 for durability hands down.
If you buy e scooter from Halfords here in UK they do deal 20 pounds for a year of punture repairs as you have they fix great deal
Great scooter until you have to change the inner tube regularly, I’m switching to solid tires to give them a go. Also get a mud guard brace.
How was your experience with the solid tires?
@@NorwegianNationalist1 no issues at all. You will need to microwave the solid tire and use a few tire irons use thick glove to handle the hot microwaved wheels.

When I was looking into a scooter my top 2 choices was gotrax gxl v2 and the xiaomi I chose gotrax because of their us based support I didn’t want to have to deal with overseas customer support waiting forever for a part or answer me back if I had an issue gotrax has great customer support I was able to order a part and have it arrive in a short amount of time my only wish is that they made aftermarket parts for the gxl v2 I’d love to have a suspension fork and a seat for it

after owning one for around 4 years, I have to say, it is not very good. Yes, it goes up to 15 mph, which is faster than normal scooters, but the main issue is the battery and energy economy.
1: after 1 month or just 2 weeks of usage, the battery would not charge as usual, it would just start charging, then stop.
Meaning the battery was not connected to the charge port properly.
After fixing the charging port, it charged fine for about a week.
2: Battery just stops accepting a charge. That's it. no other issue about the charging except that it stops charging.
I had to open the bottom of the battery and it was burnt. This is after 3 weeks of using it occasionally. So now, the battery has been replaced.
3: on the included battery, it will run out of battery very quickly. I have experimented with both economy mode and normal mode, and it runs out quickly on both.
economy mode: after a week of usage, it will run out of battery within 15-20 minutes.
regular mode: after a week of usage, it will run out of battery within 10 minutes.
Final verdict: they need a better battery, and a better charging port. 4/10.
This scooter barely lasted me 2 months. I have barely used it during those two months. this scooter is not a very good choice if you want a long lasting battery.
Xiaomi is almost the successful technology company in China, their quality/price is the best.....by the way,it’s much more expensive than other low quality Chinese scooters ......in China, most software engineers use this to go to companies to solve the last mile.
Ninebot max all the way it knocks the xiaomi m365 and the pro into fits in every single way but that’s my opinion ! 🤪
It should, being 50% more expensive
Belgae it’s worth it tho for what u get every single penny u pay it’s worth it !
I agree - the Max is in nearly every way a better scooter. The M365 of course has it beat in terms of portability, especially weight. But the Max is one of our favorite scooters --- ultra-reliable. czcams.com/video/Xl_WUR2sx_A/video.html
I thought a ninebot max is just a Xiaomi M365 pro
Es2 have more long time stable tires together with ok shock absorbers. Rain is a risk that you have to plan the drive safer anyway. Es2 have clearer taillights that do not sit on the foot brake.. and the screen foot brake works on the es2 if you want. Finally, a display showing speed. Es2 have nice design i think. You can put a bell by u self. Ok color light under is for younger, but its not a toy, and adults turns that off anyway.
I think es2 needs less maintenance and my only wonder is how long the range is on the tyre compared to each other.
Above all, watts are needed for the weight of the adults, hills, the headwind, which I hope laws will understand. Our driving licenses and cars can also drive at speeds and they are not law controlled by tops speeds or watts. Everything is about the driver's mind 🙂
I feel like it’s a great scooter, but there’s many many many other scooters which are way cheaper, more mileage, better durability, and more speed. For example, my scooter which I got from eBay was a Hiboy S2, which only costed around 315.22 dollars. I could reach around 17 miles and 19mph.
Many many options out there for sure
