Thank you
7 months later and it’s aged so badly it’s actually hikarious
I like listening to Bill and Ryan cause it feels like a conversation you have about basketball with your buddy over a beer
They went from comparing Anthony Edwards to Dion Waiters a few months ago, to now being a top untouchable player for a franchise in a matter of a few months. Gotta love Ryen and Bill.
Also don’t forget the shit they talked about the 2020 draft class being weak when now they talk about lamelo edwards Halliburton and maxey all the time and we still don’t know what okongwu Williams and wiseman are gonna become
Desmond banes almost slept on him too
It's basketball opinion change. Plus they probably never really watch Anthony Edwards game he always was a beast. Just a mistake on their part.
Idk man I still am incredibly low on antman he's a scorer and that's it tbh. However me personally I prefer point forwards or guys who are defensive oriented in general
@@ollytropics1735 did u not see him lock up ja in the playoffs?
I would’ve been interested in a list for “general trade value” vs. trade value to the player’s respective team. I’d argue Josh Giddey in a vacuum, would return more in the trade market than Chris Paul
Well yeah he 37 lol
100%
I don't think so.
More so the later. Very specifically in CP’s case and everyone in his tier (he’s worth more to us than he is to you)
Lmfao the best rookie in the West would fetch more in the market than a 37 year old who ended the year injured & is on a massive contract, what a bold call
"We gave 75 first round picks, Shai and Gallo for you... please, call you tell us if u gonna show up today?"
this one cracked my in half, lol
As a Spurs lifer, I laughed then got sad
This was a great topic. In the dog days of summer when you really have to create content you guys did great. Much appreciated!
it's more difficult when these sports shows refuse to talk anything other than football and basketball.
SGA at 41 is a little low to me but I agree
I feel like dorian finney smith in dallas is perpetually slept on, especially from a value perspective. every team in the league would want him if available.
100% especially with the extremely friendly contract he just got as a valuable 3 and D guy
Yeah but he isn’t better than any of these guys, at least in my opinion
@@therealmvp1024 maybe so maybe not but it’s about value not necessarily skill
He deserves a mention along the Wiggins and Bridges type guys. He’s not as good but he’s way cheaper and is a big culture piece in Dallas.
Idk if he’s more valuable than them in a vacuum but he’s super valuable to Dallas.
Want? sure. Value high? No.

The original article was soooo much better, with player by player hilarious comments.... and soooooo long.
@@blas_de_lezo7375 agreed, but I’ll take this
Bills topics are like 1000% better than anything they discuss on ESPN
Shai being that low is criminal. People really don’t understand how good he is
facts..he is such a crafty player. Unfortunately him and Giddey dont really mesh, they both need the ball in their hands.
Thats why i wouldve traded Giddey, the Wizards 1st rd pick and one of the two Rockets 1st rd picks they own and whatever pick swaps plus players to make the salary fit for KD.
@@blessembreaks Lmao the Nets would want both of them anyways. Lol KD is worth more than Giddey and just big contracts to match the pay. The Nets would want Shai, Giddey, and Chet lmao. And them 3 almost perfectly match KDs salary plus a haul of picks
It’s not a measure of how “good” he is. They know he is awesome. But he’s been in a ton of trade rumors for like a year, therefore his “value” is lower.
In theory he “should” be in the group with Ingram, but he hasn’t been on a successful winning team without Paul. Yes they are tanking but all of these factors go in there. I still think OKC would trade him for the right package.
@@matthewmedina6170 why would rumors affect someone’s value? Presti wouldn’t do anything to lower any of our guys’s value

Going to be honest it’s insanely wild how outrageous the basketball community has raved and overreacted the pelicans winning 2 first round games and now herb jones has more trade value than Tyrese Haliburton because he got a couple steals… BS
Yea stuff like this makes bill hard to watch for me sometimes. He completely contradicts his opinions so often and to me seems to be getting a lot lazier in the past few years and he falls back on the conventional "hot takes" a lot more than I remember in the past
I would have Haliburton so much higher. To me he is equally as impactful as Mobley. Better offensively. Not as good defensively but plays great defense. Always makes the right plays.
Agreed
I agree it's ridiculous but that's a classic Bill Simmons player where he irrationally values them.
Herb Jones is a 2 way player he's more valuable. He has elite defense with ok offense that will get better.
Lebron and maybe Curry gets a special asterisk. He puts on asses on seats and viewership is the highest when he plays. Making their contracts actually much more valuable than where you have them ranked
I can’t comprehend how someone as knowledgeable as Bill says some out of pocket stuff so often. “If the Clippers we’re to offer Kawhi for Siakam the Raptors would have to have a meeting” dude obviously they would just pull the trigger. How could you even compare the two?
its because kawhi has been injured over and over again and we really dont know with him, hes only been available for the playoffs in 2 of the last 5 years. when players get injured over and over availability is obviously a massive issue but also its really difficult to know how he will be when hes available. Just in terms of trade value injured guys are also lower in value since if you try and trade an injured guy other teams have to factor that the injury might have a bigger effect since why are they trying to trade him. a healthy kawhi is a top 10 guy ofcourse but that doesn't mean hes top 10 in trade value and I would be worried if a team traded for him.
@@qcthesxientist Played more games in the last 4 years than KD while being 3 years younger and more chips, KD still like 13 spots higher for some reason
@@qcthesxientist *same amount of chips
@@ada443 kd wasn't injured this season for the playoffs though and kawhi was. kawhi is openly injury prone (even when he won with toronto he was basically limping from the 2nd rnd on) and if the clippers tryed to trade him right now the other teams would be atleast suspicious as to why they were trying to trade kawhi since they still have picks going out indicating they think they'll be better off without kawhi, idk im just saying kawhis current trade value doesn't seem that high given his situation on the team and his potential downside. its very possible that kawhi wont be the same player or that he will end up injured again and if the clippers are trading him they probably know something we dont. saying that kds value might be a bit high on this list considering how untrustworthy he seems to be.
@@qcthesxientist Kawhi has played more games in the last 4 years than KD. That is including this year with the playoffs.
Kawhi was incredible in the playoffs last year, KD was garbo in the playoffs this year. KD is also 3 years older and has had a ruptured Achilles within the last few years, which is just about the worst injury you can get.
So this notion that KD is going to be less injury prone than Kawhi for the next few years doesn’t seem right to me
The fact there are 60 players with quality trade value is crazy the league ain’t never been this deep
Exactly why lebron is the goat era of competition is insane. I always tell people don't blame players nowadays for not winning a chip, it's sharks out there..
Yeah the more you try to figure it out the more you realize how insanely talented the league is
They just haven’t fucked up yet
@@kevingraves8196 Curry the goat, 4 legit championships having to fight out of the West every single time. Lebron played in an historically weak Eastern Conference most of his career and 2 of his titles came from a lockout shortened szn in 2012 and a pandemic bubble ring in 2020 where he had 3 months rest in the middle of the szn to rest his old body. Not even gonna mention that goofy 2016 retroactive suspension championship (never happened before, never will happen again).

The beauty with Bam is that he’s only 24 and we know he can give what he gives for a long time. DPOY level defense, 20 and 10, really solid facilitation. And this is a guy who they have to encourage to shoot more. Dude literally is like a AD Draymond hybrid.
You’re way overrating Bam on offense. He completely disappeared against Robert Williams
More like a orland dwight and draymond hybrid.
@@Flamerunner451 and Embiid, he was scared to even be in the paint lol that series opened my eyes up
AD and Draymond at least try to stretch the defense with their jump shot. Everything else Bam does is similar to them though.

In the POs it's more like 14 and 10
Sounds like a stat that McGee would give you lmao

It’s delicious that KD not being thought of as a “company guy” has limited his power in forcing trades way more than we had thought (compounded with the gobert trade timing)
Not at his age. If he was Giannis or luka type of value he could
Tyrese Haliburton is way too low. Just a minute ago everyone was screaming about how he's one of the best young floor generals in the league, which is true plus he shoots over 40% from 3. I'd put Haliburton just behind SGA and ahead of Bradley Beal due to the new contract.
Yah what the hell. Franz Wagner has higher value than haliburton? What the fuck

Bridges never has averaged over 20ppg in his career. No way he can do what Wiggins
did
They forget Wiggins was a super hyped 1st draft pick, he was compared to Lebron, just like Ben Simmons and Zion .. Wiggins has generational talent, he is 6´8 with a 44 inches vertical, just like Lebron without the muscle, and he can also shoot 40+ % from 3 and has a decent midrange game+ he is one of the best perimeter defender of the league … Bridges is just a lenghty defender who know and do his job very well but he doesn’t have the talent of Wiggins, not even close.

@@Anthonydu01630 mikal can do all those things except he might be THE best perimeter defender in the league. The guy could score 20 a game on most teams, he's not asked to on the suns .
I think Miami says NO to a Butler/AD trade :
- Butler is a culture setter, ALWAYS wants the smoke, and the evidence is there : he's taken one team to the Finals, and another right to the doorstep. Is he a pain in the ass??? YES, but he shows up, practices hard, leads, and gets results.
- When has AD done ANY of the above??? Way more talented, but has only shown up twice : (1) In his contract year in NO; (2) In his first year with Lebron. Plus, the injury history is HUGE....Wouldn't touch him if I didn't have another elite star in the fold.
Miami would not trade Jimmy straight up for AD. Jimmy had lead them to the finals and outplayed AD. What did AD ever lead his team too?
Not sure Miami would trade Jimmy unless he asked. With how well he’s led them these past few years I think they’re tarnish their reputation if they fucked him over. It’s pretty obvious they need to get him just a tiny little bit more help
Even for a team image/marketing standpoint. Jimmy embodies that 'Heat' culture playstyle and is a very elite second option player who can take over games.
@@t4d0W He's a first option on Miami you fool and lead them to the finals. He's a number 1 type of dude.
Well..AD averaged 25/11/3.2 with 1.3 steals, 2 blocks, and 67%TS in the finals 😂
you mustve missed the key word lead. Lebron obviously lead that team. AD lost that privilege awhile ago

The legendary list🔥👑
As a Cavs fan... I was getting really nervous about not hearing Mobley's name for so long lol
I'm not a Cavs fan, but I knew Mobley was in the top 10. People talk about him the same way they talked about KG early on in his career.
The surprise (as a Bucks fan) was hearing Jrue Holiday at 20. I'm a big fan of Holiday, I think he's the best on-ball defensive guard in the league. And anything you get on offense is a bonus (and he usually gets his). But I always thought he was a well kept secret not a guy the basketball world knows as a top end second fiddle on a championship team.
@@brianshaker1885 thats only because when he was a number 1 he was on the Pelicans who sucked and before that he was on the suckass 6ers and then went to a team with a Superstar on the level of Giannis. So he went to the background, at one point he was like a top 5 shooting guard when he was on the pels with AD. That last year with AD he was 21 ppg 8 apg and 5 rpg and always was a great defender.
Rj Barrett just consistently gets disrespected, it’s pretty wild how often this keeps happening.
He is an average nba player right now today given what he has done.

So Bill said at one point in reply to ryen saying I think it was about bridges having a bad series guarding Luka, "well who can guard Luka...?" and his answer was actually right in that group, none other than maple Jordan himself, andrew wiggins...
Yea and he was basically the 2nd best player on the Warriors most of the playoffs. Bridges is nice but idk if he would do better than what Wiggins did. I'd still take Mikal based on his contract though.

Ain't no way I am giving up Kawhi in an one on one trade for AD. Both have injuries problems but still at the end of the day Kawhi is a proven winner AS A TOP DOG and on top of that he is only 2 years older than AD.
Proven winner as a top dog against a catastrophically injured GS? Or are you talking about his 17ppg FMVP in 2014? He blew a 3-1 lead against the baby Nuggets in a bubble and plays 30% of his games. Stop it.

"Bridges could have been in that Wiggins spot for GS and been just as impactful"
This is one of those statements you hear from time to time by career hoop personalities where you think your head is going to explode.
Wiggins is far and away better, while Bridges could not hold up to Luca, Wiggins did. The guy is way stronger than Bridges and has a ceiling he has no where nearly reached. Also going into his age 27 season most NBA players physical peak should terrify people considering his growth with Warriors.
You have to do a better job than this.
Defense is a lot more than just 1v1. Bridges' defensive role for the suns is much greater than having to stop Luka. He's the defensive coordinator. The thing that draymond does for golden state. That's why he was a top 3 DPOY candidate.
And you also saw it with draymond in the first round against Jokic. Games 3-5 he was getting dogged on defense by Nikola. Deandre Ayton played great defense against Jokic in 2021 playoffs. But draymond has a lot more of a role outside of guarding Jokic in the warriors defensive scheme, Ayton can just focus on the 1v1 match up.
If Mikal had Draymond next to him, he would do a better job on Luka 1 on 1.
And let's not act like luka did not drop 40 twice on the warriors.

IMO, in the context of trade value, I think Draymond is actually VERY HIGH. And I want this context to be understood.
No, you would not trade for Draymond as a franchise piece. But if you're a team 1 piece away from winning it all, Draymond becomes far more valuable than a large amount of "stars". And this was on perfect display at the Olympics.
He doesn't need to shoot to impact the game. He gets his teammates open through screens, pushing tempo, reading cuts to the basket, is a master of the dribble hand-off and pick and roll as well as a top tier short roll decision maker. And that's not to mention how he changes your entire team defensively.
To this point, ask yourself. If Phoenix had Draymond instead of Crowder, would the team be better? Would Boston be better with Draymond? Hell, if you replaced John Collins with Draymond, does Atlanta not become a far better team?
He's one of the ultimate ceiling raisers for a team.
Good list
Thank god it’s an hour long, these 10-15 segments aren’t enough
Finally some love for Anthony Edwards. Even though he is in the top 10 of this list already, mark my words, he is a lock for MIP next year. Love the hour long podcast gents, keep it coming!
Mvp candidate if wolves 1 seed
MIP shouldn’t be guys like him, that’s not what the spirit of the award should be to me
he would be an awful MIP lol can we pls stop giving that award to superstars
@@griffinwalker823 I'm not arguing with the awful MIP comment, I sort of agree actually. The MIP should go to someone who had a season long injury or a rotation player that emerges. But would you classify ANT as a superstar already? I wouldn't. He is on the cusp
@@Flamerunner451 He's the favorite to win it next season that's why he said it
“Would you say no if Miami offered you Bam for Trae?” This is one of the lowest points of basketball talk.
Worst defender in the league... not bad or very bad.
Yeah Miami wouldnt do that
There are several players whose team would never trade them for anything (unless the player openly asked for a trade). There is a case for taking those guys out and ranking just the tradable players.
Manu G. Was a stater that played a perfect 6th man. Dude is so highly underrated
Maxey is going to prove everyone wrong.
Maxey, Giddey and Halliburton have all shown all star potential so I think they are all way too low...Especially Giddey dude is only 19- He's younger than Chet and Ivey.
They are all quite young and untested.
Putting Andrew Wiggins at like 46 is criminally stupid, though.
Seems kind of weird they’re all divided into “groups” like ginobli playoff guys etc. if it’s just supposed to be player vs player in a trade vacuum
Was this actually the last Sunday pod with bill and ryen
I am willing to bet that at least 20/30 teams in the league would give an arm and leg to trade for Lebron if he was available. Bill never dissapoints with his shitty takes.
Arm and leg sure. But not meaningful talent from the roster. Even Lebron wouldn't be down to go to a new team destination that he helped gut of its talent. One reason why he never traded his way out unlike Melo who went to the Knicks at the price of not having enough talent play alongside him because the Knicks sent their depth chart guys out to the Nuggets.
I don’t think 20 teams would trade their future for a guy who has 3 years left at most.
@@mattcook3291 i bet they would
@@mattcook3291 lol ppl said that 3yrs ago. Fact is unless Lebron has a freak injury we cannot say he’s going to be done playing before yr 25. I legit give him til yr 25 at least to be one of the top 10 best players in the league unless ofc he has a career ending injury or just gets tired of playing g basketball (I don’t see that happening).
@@DJ-ys9pv I mean he’s been consistently injured these past few years and has made it pretty clear he’s gonna retire within the next few years
Ye I’d definitely take Anthony Edwards for Jason Tatum
Too soon to say
An hour podcast on CZcams?
Yeah boyyyy
This is what we want substantial time you talking hoops Billy
