I was born and raised in these exact suburbs. As I look down in comments I realize I’m not the only one deeply moved by this song- both together are perfection. This band is a rare one. Their live shows are better than the recordings.
As a dad of three beautiful girls and a son to me this is a beautiful lyric. The most beautiful possessions in my life. I’m a man of unrivalled wealth not in monetary terms but I’ve a wealth beyond words in the eyes of my children. A very lucky dad❤️❤️❤️❤️
I listened to this album relentlessly on the way to work. My then wife and I were trying for kids to no avail and this line always moved me….became almost a little prayer… two years later we were blessed with a son and three years after that, another beautiful boy. I don't know if talented if the right word. Arcade fire ware one of my favourite bands, but they aren't exactly spectacular technical musicians,they instead have incredible passion/emotion in their performances. If I was to compare them to a band like the strokes- the strokes are clearly more naturally gifted musicians, but arcade fire are a far superior band because they have magic in their music.
Just how many instruments does Richard Reed Parry play? He has more passion in the tip of his little finger than most musicians have in their entire bodies.

There was a lot more of Florence Welch when the programme was shown live on BBC..the most fantastic dancer that I have ever seen..and 6 years later I still remember her performance.
