One Family, Three Thai Restaurants In Brooklyn

- The family behind Plant Love House brings Brooklyn, NY three unique restaurants: LOOK, MONDAYOFF, and Noods n’ Chill, all of which serve street-style Thai cuisine that honors the foods they love to eat. Matriarch Manadsanan Sutipayakul is in charge of the cooking, while her three children help run the three busy restaurants. The family speaks on how Manadsanan’s cooking turned their backyard into a makeshift restaurant before expanding into the hospitality business, and why their Mondays off with their family, friends, and coworkers are so special.

I worked with her years back in another Thai restaurant and she definitely worked her way up to learn everything about the business. This took many hours, days and years for her while also studying at the same time. She never gave up, was always dedicated to her family and I was glad to visit the first location when it was in Queens. I no longer live in New York, working overseas now but if I do return. I'd definitely make an effort to visit the other locations. Glad to see her story finally here. Good work Ploy!!! 😌👌🏽💕
Are they not in Queens anymore?
@ Danny P Chauca..
My eyes burst into tears after finished the reading..oh ! what a feeling you've put into your comments.. sorry for me to continue crying..😢😰😢😰
Their family bond is everything...💖❤💯

Very True 💜
Asians are very family oriented I have noticed. Every Asian American I met when they introduce me to their families they all have such a tight knit bond with one another from parents, siblings, uncles and aunts. And also my favorite Thai cuisine is Isaan North East Thai. Love Som Tum with sticky rice and steamed or fried fish and a platter of mixed vegetables 👌
This is inspiring. We must protect family restaurants such as this one. Stop making your routine to go to fast food restaurants when you’re hungry, instead help out a local business and get an amazing meal!!🧡

I'm so dead at the excercise conversation😂😂😂
I used to live across the street from LOOK and would go all the time. They're the nicest people, and the pork blood noodle soup is incredible. It's the closest thing to the boat noodle soups I got when I was in Thailand. Everything on their menu is great too....the isaan sausage, this fried mackerel with sides. Glad to see they're getting this coverage.
I salute you guys I'm a south Bronx new York native and my mother was a single mother raised me my brother and my sister. Never give up and stick to your family because family is everything
That mom is an OG!
There was a mother, daughter, and brother combo that ran a Thai food truck in my area. I miss the truck, they opened my eyes to trusting a chef. It’s been the only place I could always say the special and it was new and I loved it.
สู้ๆนะครับ - Hope your business continues to grow and thrive even in this pandemic
I couldn't stop smiling while watching this video. I need this pandemic to be over with so I can travel to NY and visit this place.

I'm a half Thai person which just moved to NYC. I'll be visiting this place on the weekend. Hoping for that pork blood soup :)
Thats awesome that you guys are doing this. I keep telling my mom that she needs to open a restaurant... the noodle soup looks sooooo good.
Duck panang is literally my go to 🤤🤤i love Thai food so much! You guys are a beautiful family. Thanks for sharing your food with us.
Such wonderful family values.
As a Thai food eating white American, it is amazing to me how we decided pad Thai would be the dish we American-ize and expect at every Thai food spot... how do we not choose the most delicious curries instead!!!
Thing is actually the Thai King back then kind of created Pad Thai as a national dish but having in mind making it famous and catered to tourists and foreigners so I'm not really mad if they expect Pad Thai..just don't be surprised if authentic restaurants like them don't do it because in reality like in a lot of cuisines we don't eat it at home lol
@@thanwatownow it was actually Phibun in one of the original military juntas that modernized Thailand and picked Pad Thai. Truthfully Pad Kra Pow is more the true National dish of Thailand. Everybody eats it!
Awesome story. Whish I could come all the way from TX just to try the food. Looks really delicious and made with love and pride in where you come from.
Oh hell yeah! I’m heading there this weekend.
I can see how passionate your family with food good luck for u all

Where are you from?

Much love and appreciation guys be a franchise soon ❤️
So cool. I love Thai food!
Wow annoying basic Karens and Kens really be like "how can this be a Thai restaurant without Pad Thai". Go to your Americanized McThai food places then...
Nonetheless glad this family found their own dish which works.
It's like say how can you be a sushi restaurant without california rolls 😅.......
but Pad Thai is so good :P
Pad Thai is a modern invention by Marshall Plaek, then prime minister, during WW2 along with other policies and inventions. It was created to build a new kind of noodle dish that has a nationalistic Thai identity, as opposed to most noodle dishes which were Chinese. It worked and has since become the face of Thai cuisine.
Now I’m craving this at 8am
Craving for thais rn
@@brokeindio5072 ?
They seem so sweet I never had Thailand’s dishes but I’ll definitely pay them a visit and try it

great vid
I wish I could try.
Nice video 👍👍👍.
The soup in the thumbnail is a chili soup with pork, prawns, and quail eggs. I was hoping they'd show how they make it because it's the best food I've ever eaten. But it seems like the secret ingredient is shady mama Manadsanan's love!!
Woow i want this in my city ,belguim ,tessenderlo
This makes me so emotional because I wish I have this type of family support, but luckily I have amazing friends.
COOL !!!!
This is the most American family ever. Literally living the 'American Dream'. Love it.
