I installed these LEDs 6 months ago and they have worked very well so far. For assembly of the light assembly, I used hot melt glue at the posts. It's seems superior to using crazy glue and is easier to remove if necessary in the future.

I did this install over the weekend in my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel and I can't thank you enough! A year or two ago when I went to replace the bulbs, I thought I was SOL and Dodge told me I would have to buy a new assembly to replace their dull, flickering LED's. Now I have these installed and they are BRIGHT!

Thanks a lot for this vid, I had bought the peanut led bulbs probably 6 months ago, only to realize they wouldnt work(or so I thought until this vid) saw this at 1am, and ran out to my truck and pulled out the crap led module and replaced with the led peanut bulbs!! Now I can actually see in my truck at night .. took like 10 minutes to swap out!! Awesome!

What peanut bulbs did you buy out of curiosity? Those led boards are bright but look cheaply made.

Finally Did My Upgrade wit the LED Lights (24), Your video was on Point!!! Thank You for that. Only exception is that I have the Sunroof Connection which was kicking my ass! at first but I was finally able to disconnect it. The 24 LED are perfect for me not too much overkill. So far everything is good very satisfied.

  • @mosterhout85

I swapped these out today on my 2015 ram 1500, I did 4 lights the two map lights and I replaced the driver/passenger side floor lights, those where a direct plug and play with a two pin female plug then just stuck them on. I think they are perfect for the floor lights but the map lights are way too bright for me at night and if I turn one on have that residual light artifact like when you look at the sun! Anyone find ones that aren't maybe such a flood light and more focused, or recessed them in the light more?
Also I had old laptop and xbox screws, using those along with a pilot hole to hold down the silver plates.

i’m really picky with my LEDs, i don’t even do 6k white because that’s a “cool blue” color, i feel like i’m in a cold storage.
5k white is the perfect white.

Excellent video! You did a great job going through all the steps for the removal and replacement of the map lights. I had one map light that was burned out (LED) so I decided of course to remove both of them and replace them with the 24 LED lamp. But I will say the Speed Clips on the upper console on my 2018 2500 Laramie was a Pain in the A$$! I thought I was going to break the upper console. It was sooo stuck, it felt that it was glued in...but it wasn't. The dealership wanted $675 to replace the one burned out LED, which I said hell NO! I was hoping that my truck had the incandescent bulbs, which I had planned to replace with LED bulbs...But no dice. My Laramie has the factory (weak) LED interior lights. Word of caution....the push in sockets were very tricky. You REALLY have to make sure the metal leads touch the socket and stays firmly in place.
