    ~~~Common Mechanic mistakes in Nissan Navara D40~~~
    Is Nissan Navara good for use?
    In fact Navara is considered a reliable and dependable truck… But many are work-hoses that because mostly neglected or mistreated… if you are one of them have it checked out by an experienced Nissan mechanic.
    Well known issues:
    01. Fuel injection issue
    02. Pre-mature clutch wear in manual transmission
    03. Electronic issues
    04. Turbocharger issues
    05. Timing chain
    06. Engine over heat
    01 Fuel pump damaged can be minimised
    01. Carry on service on time - including fuel filter, air filter, oil filter replaces
    02. Change of fuel filter on time - at least on every 15k-20k Kms
    03. Do Not ever use barrel Diesel
    04. Do Not use unwanted / unrecommended additives (do not use based on the marketing tricks)
    05. Bypassing DPF from the fuel pressure line
    06. Clean injectors and pressure test perform on at least on every 25000-30000Km
    a. When replacing injectors after the above test - you must use
    i. Genuine O-ring
    ii. Genuine copper shims
    iii. Genuine U-washer (for back leak / fuel return pipe)
    b. By doing all above can minimise
    i. Diesel Block
    ii. Black smoke
    07. Finally replace the timing chain on recommended time frame (100k KMs)
    02 Pre-mature clutch wear:
    "Manual Transmission"
    01. When replacing mechanical parts, replace all
    a. Clutch plate, pressure plate & release bearing
    b. When replacing flywheel make sure to check the pilot bearing (otherwise chattering sounds will occur)
    02. If you thinking of you replacing with the dual mass flywheel?
    a. Single mass unit is more robust
    b. Single mass replacement will be strong
    c. More reliable unit over time specially if you intend to tow heavy loads with the vehicle.
    "Automatic gearbox"
    01. Recommended to replace transmission fluid on every 40000-60000KMs
    a. Replace with recommended transmission fluid - refer to the manual or dipstick
    i. Matic J
    b. When replacing ensue to perform full service on the valve-body
    02. Do NOT use any other or regular automatic gearbox oil
    03. You must replace rear main crank shaft oil seal whenever detached / remove the gearbox for any repair (otherwise later you may experience oil leak)
    03 Electronic Issues:
    01. Specially bypassing DPF from the fuel pressure line.
    02. Let an experienced electrician to work on lighting or any other in the vehicle
    04 Turbocharger issues:
    01. If a frequent replacement of turbocharger
    a. Direct / bypassing the turbo vacuum line
    b. Turbo variable change manually
    c. Intercooler block
    d. Intake block
    e. Block exhaust system
    02. Before replacing turbo - you need to
    a. Analyse the data stream to check
    i. Booster control
    ii. Air / throttle response ratio
    b. Check vacuum line with connection of solenoid
    Timing Chain replace:
    01. Timing chain uses two chains
    a. Primary chain is single row
    b. Secondary chain is duplex or dual row
    c. Secondary chain does not give much issues
    02. Many owners found stretch of primary chain - and that because neglected of on time chain replacement: if that happens
    a. Piston and valve inside the engine can collide with fairly devastating results
    03. How do I know that? Chain guides can also show sign of pre-mature wear is these engines
    04. Recommendation: Trade / Nissan
    a. Primary chain replaces at 80000-100000 KM
    b. Inspect timing chain stretching at least on every 40000Kms
    Especially when you replace timing chain, following must be considered
    01. Check the crank pulley (replace it if ware and broken)
    02. Replace fuel pump oil seal
    03. Inspect fuel pump housing feed pump (either replace or insert a strong sleeve)
    a. Ensure you take the oil seal along with you when visiting to a lathe workshop
    04. Replace water pump
    05. Thoroughly inspect oil pump & replace if warn
    a. Low oil pressure will damage your engine
    06. Replace oil pump oil seal
    Engine heat / head gasket blow:
    01. Use only recommended engine coolant / antifreeze
    a. When replacing coolant DO not ever swap radiator caps
    i. For Radiator flat washer cap
    ii. Reservoir tank spring tension cap
    02. Do not remove thermostat from the vehicle
    03. Flush radiator at least on every 20000-30000Kms
    If frequent replace of: drive belt / alternator clutch pulley - check following very carefully
    01. Check crank pulley (you need to turn engine / crank manually and inspect carefully)
    a. This is the main reason for frequent belt replace.
    Such a problem can apply any similar truck, so don't be too put off by Navara D40. It's a firm used truck favourite for good reason.
    • @abcautotrendy
      @abcautotrendy  Před 2 lety
      There are two different causes so to narrow down you may perform a scan or one of the following is the root cause
      1. Fuel relief valve (limiter valve) that is located on the fuel rail
      2. Lack of syncing with turbo actuator, throttle & EGR. So just give a good cleanup on to the throttle body, EGR and intercooler
      Your most welcome dear…
      By passing vacuum line will have an impact to the turbocharger so until you get a replacement try to control the speed at low rpm
    Love the video, Thanks. I'd like to get your advice, my Navara D40 (Manual) has been idle for few weeks now. The issue started a week after I changed the fuel filters, what do you suggest I do?
    • @abcautotrendy
      @abcautotrendy  Před 2 lety +1
      Well, what’s the fuel filter you replaced with ? Is that a genuine or a third party filter ?
      Nevertheless - please following
      1. Perform a system scan to trigger any DTC
      2. Check whether all in and out fuel hose are tightened enough after replacing the filter (there might be air bubble in the fuel line)
      It may also can case one of the following
      01. Clogged of suction control valve
      02. Faulty limiter valve fixed on the common rail
      3. A bad or clogged injectors that has lost of flow rate and or increase back leak
      @nazmi6990 Před 2 lety +1
      @@abcautotrendy A third party fuel filter. Btw I just found out that the crank sensor is broken, so I'm assuming it's causing the vehicle to idle.
    • @abcautotrendy
      @abcautotrendy  Před 2 lety +1
      Yes that’s correct, if the crank sensor broken the piston and crank does not sync with CAM and fuel pump…
      PS: any recent gearbox repair?
    • @nazmi6990
      @nazmi6990 Před 2 lety +1
      @@abcautotrendy Thank you, should get a new sensor today. And yes, we did change the clutch and pressure plate a few weeks ago in which part of the broken crank sensor fell out but wasn't quite sure what it really was. Did further reading online and found its one of the camshaft or crank sensor and had it checked.
      A sweet feeling identifying the problem. Thank you to you too. I'll keep in touch as most mechanics here have trouble trying to fix Navara D40s.
    My Nissan Navara has an overheating issue... First it started to loose power or booste from the exhaust .. and i thought it was a turbo issue.. then the exhaust into the intercooler was leaking a lot of oil .. then it started over heating... currwntly i have no drive boost when i go up gear to 4th and 5th.. and when i go up gear.. the water boils out of the reservoiir tank. I hope you can point me to the right direction
      02. The radiator fan clutch has enough of gell inside?
      03 Enough of fresh air comes toward the engine (check whether the radiator block, intercooler block,, AC condenser block
    • @abcautotrendy
      @abcautotrendy  Před rokem +1
      That means your oil level sensor is not working.
      1. First remove the sensor. Clean and reinstall
      2. If the issue is persistent, then replace
      If the indicator flashes off after a couple of seconds then no worries.
      But if the indicator is still and steady, then do not start the vehicle. That means. oil pressure is not there. Either due to the pressure sensor being faulty or the oil pump is seized
