  • We hope this video will help you understand what is required to service your 4x4 Engine 2.5 TD. And also the pit falls if not done correctly. We only service cars on a Saturday with only 4 slots available and we need 4 weeks notice at all times. By all means do the Service yourself and save money we can send you the parts you need by post and we hope this video will help you do it.

K&N oil filters come with a 25mm nut fixed on top of the oil filter .Makes R&R much less

hi from n.z. i.m.o k&n is crap unless used on a track race day. they are nothing more that a sieve that lets in fine dust. at our Can-am dealership we have a lost of idiots using theme on high end road bikes which come in dusted which engine is destroyed by fine dust. if anyone wanted these shit filters used on Komatsu, Cummins,Cat, or other heavy diesels the makers wont wear it.

I suggest you add in the title, 2.5dci, most Pathfinder videos are US based and focus on the V6. I am UK based. A tip for others is to access the filter from below, this only entails removing the two rearmost shields. After which the oil filter can be reached from below - a much quicker and simpler way to do it. You can also apply just hand torque to tighten the new one.
I was surprised at how much oil came out - approx 7.5lts.
    Good videos, thanks very much.
I have had the dreaded dash light issue that relates to the gearbox switches, the autos have different switches to the ones you show (in another video) and requires the gearbox dropping to access them.

  • @davidellis279
    @davidellis279 Před 5 lety +1

Those oil filters are supposed to be spun on hand tight not tightened up with a ratchet it's no wonder there so difficult to undo. If you go to any of the major tyre replacement shops you will find them using impact guns to put wheels on and then check them with a torque wrench which is Crazy because they have already been overtightened usually by unskilled staff. I have just done a Kia's brakes which had only ever been serviced by Kia Bolton and had to use a 3/4 commercial drive socket and bar with a 5ft aluminium tube to undo the wheel nuts. If you own one of these vehicles I suggest you check your wheel nuts before you get a puncture on the motorway and can't get the wheel off. I spoke to Kia Bolton about this but denied ever over tightening the nuts but the evidence spoke for itself.

told them and they said they dont use a gun to tighten them.
i said well my dash cam says otherwise.
then then told me oh well if they did it has a setting to stop so it does not over tighten it.
      =/

If the vehicle has been used off road, especially on a beach, sand and dirt can accumulate around the filter and fall in to the flange when removed. This must be cleaned with compressed air or pressure washer first

    Hey buddy, great video.
Great to see someone adding videos for a particular make like you do.
At the moment I've got a problem with my 2010 d40 Thai.
It's done 135kms and had a timing chain replaceed at 125kms.
Now it's stalling on start up, it's ok if I keep it above 1,000rpm and when it's warm I don't have a problem.
Nissan are telling me it's the timing chain again. Thought it's not really noisy this time.
Could stalling like this be something else?
I've also noticed a fair bit of smoke, I installed a catch can but it hasn't really done anything.
Would really appreciate some advice from an expert like yourself..
    Thanks heaps!!

Do you think Nissan make the oil filter mountings especially difficult for folks at home. The ZD30 is the worst engine for an oil change that I have ever done. I reckon it must be a design brief. Even a Reliant Robin was easier. My Perkins/Volvo MD50 is so easy that I could do it wearing my best clothes and be sure of not getting dirty. Given that it sits in a tunnel in my boat I'm pleased that it is. I'm off to do battle with the fuel filter now. Well that was fun. Why didn't I think that pulling the water sensor out would release a load of diesel over me, the floor the battery etc. Next time!

Love your videos, came across them doing my research on a d40 Navara I'm looking at buying. Any advice on what I should look for when doing an inspection before buying? It's an 07 stx auto and has done 215000km. Cheers from NZ

West yorkshire engine services no I checked everything you've highlighted in your videos and went through with purchase as chassis is very tidy and straight and there is no engine noise from chain. Only issue that has popped up is that it is coming up with a cam sensor fault and has a rough idle and miss just off idle, mechanic trying to push for timing chain, but I am going to simply replace the cam and crank sensor as chain makes no noise, is easy to start, and once past the miss at idle it runs perfectly... but I'm hoping it isn't another issue that's making it run rough at idle and have the miss under 2000rpm

Hey Buddy. Do you have a branch in London or company you can recommend to have my Nissan checked up properly. Hard to travel up North to service a vehicle

Hi, in fuel filter there is a sensor, I was thinking how to remove the sensor plug without damaging it. Don't see it was in your video.

There is a little metal clip that clips in from underneath the connector. Just need a flat screwdriver underneath the connector and pull the clip down. The connector then comes off easy.
