  • Vehicle Service in my Garage | Nissan Navara Np300 / D23
    In this video I service my NP300 Navara in my garage. This car service includes:
    - oil change
    - oil filter change
    - fuel filter change
    - air filter change
    Servicing your vehicle every 5,000 to 10,000k's is very beneficial to your engine (makes it last longer, maintains power, more reliable etc.). This service can be done to most modern utes, such as Toyota Hilux, Mitsubishi Triton, Isuzu Dmax, Ford Ranger, Mazda BT50 etc.

    Regarding the fuel filter....before you START the engine, put the ignition to ON or ACC and leave for at least 15secs...preferably a minute, so the lines and filter can prime. Risk of damaging the fuel pump otherwise.....(as stated in video)

    I would definitely be using a heavier oil mate. Id use a 10-40 or 50. Cant have enough protection. 5-30 is definitely two thin and that’s why you’re getting so much oil in your catch can. I usually get around 150ml @ 10000km service out of my catch can

    Have you ever had a problem with the red engine light coming on all the time while driving? I lose all acceleration and and cant go faster than 40km/h. I have to pull over, shut off engine and wait a couple of minutes before restarting and the light is gone. It usually happens when i come to a stop at a light never while at speed.. now before the light even comes on my car accelerates by itself on and off. Its like the throttle fluctuates by itself and i basically need to control my speed with my brake.. if i go into neutral, my cars rpm revs upto 2500 sometimes 300 and just sits there. Any idea whats goong on? Im getting no codes when plugging in my code reader. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • @Skits_Missions

    So your mixing oils by serving both with Nissan and what your doing? Not a good idea. I get you want to service more and that’s fine, but to say 20,000km on high quality full synthetic oils is way over serving is bullshit. Yes I know what I’m talking about because I’ve worked for a number of Lubricant companies and a mechanic didn’t make that call engineers and tribologists made that call with a lot of oil testing to ensure it can do it! But as manual says if driving in harsh conditions service intervals for certain things may need to be earlier. FYI Also you can get good Nissan OEM service kits that have the filters (much better than repco btw) and replacement squash ring for the drain plug. Nav life and other web pages sell these. My recommendation is to give Nissan the same oil you decide to use. Will save you money too lad.

    • @jasereynolds_
      @jasereynolds_  Před 2 lety +4

      Hey mate thanks for your input, happy to hear everyone’s point of view. I actually agree with your point about the car company engineers doing the testing and giving the thumbs up, but that doesn’t mean that servicing more often is bad or a waste of time.
      Car companies like Nissan are not like they were in the 80’s or 90’s where they purely look at power and/or reliability. They also have to meet environmental requirements (which includes disposing of oil less often by only replacing every 20,000k’s instead of 5,000k’s). I strongly believe that the main reason they service less often is to meet the environment requirements.
      Yes, the engine may have been designed with the intention of having its oil replaced every 20,000, but replacing the oil every 5,000-10,000k’s is even better and increases it’s reliability

    • @Skits_Missions
      @Skits_Missions Před 2 lety

      @@jasereynolds_ yea 100% no harm in servicing more often, but just wanted to point out not to mix. The oil grades are 100% designed because of tighter engine tolerances due to emissions. The synthetic is used to achieve the target interval of 20,000km. High cost to drain a quality oil every 5000km. I’ve run trials in the mining industry using high quality synthetic oils and filtration to extend 3000hr intervals to 20,000hr. The component life was also extended at the end. Same as full synthetics AF oil in the Nav automatic trans for life.
