  • Lumpiang Shanghai is a staple dish that is served in all Filipino occasions just like our Pancit. It is always sought. Perhaps it is crispy and delicious as an appetizer or as a main dish. It is a reliable dish to serve.
    Katerno Foods made LUMPIANG SHANGHAI SPECIAL. Kindly watch the video up to the end. You will learn how to prepare the ingredients, flavourings used, proper mixing of ingredients, demonstration of wrapping the Lumpiang Shanghai and frying.
    The secret to keep the crispiness of Lumpiang Shanghai is not to fry it immediately. “Air drying” in a vertical position removes the extra moisture.
    In addition, after frying the Lumpiang Shanghai, keep or store in vertical position (again) so the excess cooking oil will drip. This will also make it less oily.

    SPECIAL LUMPIANG SHANGHAI
    Ingredients
    1 lb. ground pork
    1 stalk of spring onion, finely chopped
    1 small carrot, finely chopped
    ¼ C raisins, finely chopped
    ½ t salt
    ¼ t ground black pepper
    1 t mushroom powder or Magic Sarap
    1 T oyster sauce
    1 t sesame oil
    ½ C grated cheese
    20 pcs. large lumpia wrapper
    1 T cornstarch mixed with 2 T water
    Cooking oil for frying
    For dipping:
    (1) Ketchup
    (2) Chili-Garlic sauce
    (3) Finadene sauce*
    (4) Vinegar with garlic
    *Finadene Dipping Sauce:
    1 C soy sauce
    ½ C lemon or lime or kalamansi juice
    ½ C chopped green onions
    1 large onion finely chopped
    6 or more pieces of chili hot pepper, chopped
    1 pinch Magic Sarap
    Salt and pepper to taste
    Optional: you can add ½ C vinegar

      Alam mo nag blend talaga ang mga ingredients para especial at masarap ang lumpiang shanghai. Tight lang ang pag wrap. Nasa description din ang tips kung paano gagawing crispy. Maraming salamat sa comment mo. Take care.

      Hi Jef,
      Pwedeng-pwede i-business, Jef. Marami tayong favorite ang na dish ito! Follow mo lang recipe at technique kung paano maging matagal ang pagiging crispy ng lumpiang shanghai. Share ko sa iyo ang pwedeng sawsawan: equal amount ng ketchup, sugar, vinegar, at water. Mix lang. Tapos i-cook mo na. Pag nag boil na.add mo ang slurry mixture. Ito ay 1T cornstarch dissolved in 1/4 C water. Patok ito. God bless.
